Socialism fails every time
BeginnersMind replied to BeginnersMind's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He barely lost to Hillary when he had the entire deck stacked against him. He has the money, a campaign already set, and will get off to a lead that no one will be able to catch. Beto is the only guy who may have a chance and no one even knows what he stands for. But oh, those teeth. Trump vs. Sanders. Lucky us. -
Socialism fails every time

Bernie will probably win a crowded race in Iowa, will win going away in NH, and with the new moved-up date in CA, he will win there. No no one will stop that momentum. No one. He’s the the only candidate with enough money and an established campaign network to be rolling in CA well before NH and Iowa conclude. There may be others who hang on past CA, (Beto may because he could win TX) but the race will go from 30 to 4 real fast after the CA primary. -
Solid opinion piece from the WSJ today. Bernie is probably going to win the nomination easily running away, with money, an already-established campaign, and early wins in Iowa, NH, and the newly moved-up CA, and thus be the first major party socialist nominee. Trump will be woefully overmatched intellectually to combat this in a debate of ideas, which is too bad. But I hope others can take up the mantle in defense of capitalism. WSJ opinion This goes well with another piece crushing the government’s role in Tesla’s coming spectacular downfall. “A report out last month from McKinsey [deep state three-fingered blood cult pizzagate warning] tellsthe story: These cars cost an average of $12,000 more to produce than they can fetch in the marketplace. The role of regulation in causing this pileup “cannot be overstated,” the report adds, while proposing somewhat desperately that the industry try to save itself by “decontenting” its electric vehicles—that is, getting rid of every unnecessary frill and luxury, such as display screens, fancy seating, power windows or anything else that adds costs to what are essentially compliance vehicles.”

Trump's leadership team
BeginnersMind replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Good writers use em-dashes so that’s not much for a “trained investigator” to be proud to observe. And she used only one in her letter. She awkwardly uses two en-dashes, which is strange usage. -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
BeginnersMind replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It says a lot about you that you see this as a jibe at one side and not the other. Biden made the bed he's currently in and at some point in a long form interview, he will answer for it. -
The Deep State War Heats Up

To be clear, I’m talking about her behavior compared to Trump’s. Not her ideology. And either way you’re wrong. Trump has not had an unwavering ideology. He was at best a political pragmatist before he ran. -

The normalizing of socialism is my bigger concern where AOC comes up--she's the cherry on top of Bernie and Warren and definitely a looney-left version of DT. -
I’m open to your input on stopping the 4chan-ing of this place.

There was some joking by Tom. There was some real deep state speculation by many others. Don’t play dumb. And there are many other examples besides. Just picked 2 out of a hat. McD is classless but he’s post is no different than many others here.

Your right: Trump sits atop this throne in every respect. Glad to see that you’re coming around Hedges. -
And the discussion about the conspiracy to cover up RBG’s death? Am I making that up too?
-
Deep “thinkers” enjoying your echo chambers. Indeed, jumping to a possible deep state conspiracy while the plane was still smoldering was a high standard I don’t aspire to, but I respect your desire to uphold it.
-
Of course you’d defend this type of behavior. Conspiratorial pots enjoying McD style kettles. Three cheers for PPP. Read a poem. Go hug your loved ones. Take a walk.
-
Will you ban your buddies who jumped on here after the Ethiopian crash to suggest Deep State bull####? Umm uhh umm. Didn’t think so.
-
Were you reflecting on this for 3 months?
-
That's a sad reflection on what some people think about community. To Daffodils has a different take. As does the Eeyore story that Tom recently commented on.

Thanks for the suggestion. This board needs more beauty.

Fair Daffodils, we weep to see You haste away so soon; As yet the early-rising sun Has not attain'd his noon. Stay, stay, Until the hasting day Has run But to the even-song; And, having pray'd together, we Will go with you along. We have short time to stay, as you, We have as short a spring; As quick a growth to meet decay, As you, or anything. We die As your hours do, and dry Away, Like to the summer's rain; Or as the pearls of morning's dew, Ne'er to be found again. - Robert Herrick

He’s not worth your hatred. DR has unwavering faith in creating his conspiracy narrative both in the news and at a personal level, and proselytizing about it even when shown how stupid and wrong it is. And he believes in far stranger stuff. He has a little army of yes-men here though so it’s not worth trying to discuss on this board. What was PPP is now his wet dream: billsChan.

Teen pregnancy is 57/1000 in the US, and has been steadily dropping for 25 years. And the number of teens who carry to term is higher here than most places. https://www.guttmacher.org/news-release/2015/teen-pregnancy-rates-declined-many-countries-between-mid-1990s-and-2011 The sky isn’t falling. But people’s belief that it is keeps rising.
