Julian Assange taken into custody
BeginnersMind replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I agree. I am pointing out the use of bragging or threatening that "I have you on ignore" and "I am going to put you on ignore." And even accompanying that with screenshots to lord the use of the feature over someone as some kind of one-upsmanship. It's a competition for who can be the meltier (!) snowflake. You want to ignore someone, ignore them, using the feature or not. We don't need a LAMP-post announcement about it. -
Chapeau!
-
Never too early for you guys to speculate that's for sure. Demonize me along with Shep Smith in saying maybe we should wait until we know more. Since the fire was already burning and firefighters were on the scene, that could have been anyone from someone trying to rescue artifacts to Quasimodo.

This is true and not just believers can learn this. It's a lesson taught by many. It's inspiring to see how quickly people are racing to pledge rebuilding funds. Money won't be the issue on the rebuild. From what I've read so far, it seems like only some of the original timber joists may have been damaged. The Cathedral is/was in many ways a Ship of Theseus, but in particular much of what was destroyed. I look forward to seeing it someday restored to its full majesty.

“I hate your posts and now you’re on my ignore list,” is now a regular post here. Instead of just, ya know, ignoring someone. People even take pride in snapping pics of their screens to show everyone how their ignore works. It’s the PPP selfie. -
Open invite to PPP. It’s made for you man.

Notre Dame Cathedral on fire
BeginnersMind replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Agreed. I’ve never had a bad experience there. If you make an effort with the language, not even a ton, and are generally not as ass, people are nice everywhere. I love Paris. -
It is/was. Even more so thinking about what life was like when it was built, and its contrast with the surrounding world and life. Seeing it must have been like Disneyworld x googeplex. Paris Behind the arch of glory sets the day; The river lies in curves of silver light, The Fields Elysian glitter in a spray Of golden dust; the gilded dome is bright, The towers of Notre Dame cut clean and gray The evening sky, and pale from left to right A hundred bridges leap from either quay. Pillared with pride, the city of delight Sits like an empress by her silver Seine, Heavy with jewels, all her splendid dower Flashing upon her, won from shore and main By shock of combat, sacked from town and tower. Wherever men have builded hall or fane Red war hath gleaned for her and men have slain To deck her loveliness. I feel again That joy which brings her art to faultless flower, That passion of her kings, who, reign on reign, Arrayed her star by star with pride and power. - Willa Cather

You see Trump's much later tweet and think of me? Really, man: You have problems. Here's a proposal for you: You stop responding/obsessing about me and I'll never respond to another post by you where I make fun of your conspiracies. The board will be all too happy if you agree since no one wants to see more of this. Deal? Yes, at some level, it's just "stuff." It's personally sad for to see it so damaged because it has some touching memories for me from a recent trip to Paris. Also sad to see interesting places like this reduced to ash and rubble. So goes it all eventually. I'm happy no one was hurt.
-
You won't quote me because you think I get paid by your quotes of my posts, so I don't even know WTF you're talking about weirdo.
-
Shep Smith was right to shut that guy down. I wonder why DR called Shep a propagandist and bad newsman for it.
-
That's sad to see. I went there with family about 8 years ago. I enjoyed Paris and lit a candle for a recently deceased relative in Notre Dame. It is a touching memory.
-
It is offputting when our president acts poorly on the national stage in a sad moment. I am a fan of much of what Trump has done, as I have said. This is not one of those times. Why do you keep running from your post about Shep Smith?
-
No answer on why you rushed here critical of Shep Smith for being a "propagandist" when he cut off someone who was deep into speculation on what happened in the fire? I've asked 3 times. You're the one who posted it here in this thread, not me. The president is not just showing compassion when he jumps in with stupid armchair advice. I typed that s l o w l y to help you. You can disagree with that all you want and maybe you can provide me his long CV of firefighting expertise as a counter to my opinion, but I'm going to stick with my original statement.
-
I lied when I said that Trump should shut up on advice and just offer his compassion? That’s my opinion. And as to being critical of him offering advice, I wasn’t even the first to do so. Going to address why you chose that clip to attack Shep Smith?
-
Link to me criticizing the thoughts and prayers line like the lib left often do. I’ll be right here. You may need a mirror with your post. You’re obsessed with me brother. Wishing me to die a slow death for criticizing Q? Telling me I’m your personal enemy? Get a grip man.
-
I’m Gary and a paid deep state operative. Why did you question Shep for telling the guy to stop speculating?
-
It’s all we can do in the moment and I find it to be one of the only ways to express empathy with the victims and their families.
-
Equating ww2 to a fire in the cathedral is really a strong point.
-
I find it tragic that this happened and our president can’t show compassion but instead chimes in with cheap sideline advice. I expect more from him. You don’t and that’s ok. Why did you attack Shep Smith?
-
Trump had a good week last week. It’s ok to criticize him when he’s a jagoff.
-
I have. And I have faith that the proper authorities didn’t need the Tweeter in Chief chiming in with his deep knowledge of firefighting. How about, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Paris and the brave firefighters trying to save a cultural treasure.”

You and the ppp borg have weaponized the ignore feature. “Now I have you on ignore. Nyah Nyah boo boo.” Grow up. Ignore someone or don’t. No one cares if you announce it. -
What is it that you believe he did wrong in that clip? What could go wrong dumping tons of water onto a flaming structure several hundred years old. “Must act quickly.”* *and stupidly Ha can’t stop the idiotic from leaking out, even after a good couple of weeks for him.
