I don't know about the neck injury. That could just be a freak injury, and not indicative of a tendency. However, I have heard some comments about him being so tight as an athlete, he might be prone to muscle strains and pulls and the like. His 1.6 % body fat index might not actually be healthy.

Oliver was rumored to have played at under 280 lbs. That he showed up at the combine at 287 is good news for him. Now, if he tests well at that weight. . .

Arthritis is an autoimmune disease. Your immune system is attacking your joints. There are lots of medications being prescribed now to control it - drugs like Humira. They suppress the action of the immune system. I wonder if Gurley would be a candidate for something like that. NSAIDS wreck your kidneys if you're on them too long and steroiods are a no no in the NFL, so the choices are limited.

The questions that need to be asked are: "Did he get open?" and "Did he catch the ball when it came his direction?" You can't downgrade him too much for not being targeted.

Several of the big guys are showing they have some speed. Boykin from Notre Dame, Custis from Syracuse, Jazz Fergusson NW State. Unfortunately Kelvin Harmon is not one of them. I think he just cost himself some spots in the draft. I understand the knock on Hall is he drops some balls he shouldn't sometimes. If you can get him to be more consistent in his concentration, you've got a gem.

I disagree because there is plenty of room for upgrades at WR besides Zay, and Zay is still on his rookie (cheap) contract. Unless Beane manages to swing a nice trade, I think they'll let him play out his rookie contract. Then they can decide if they want to try and re-sign him or let him walk.

The Patriots needed a character coach because Belichick is the head coach (and Kraft is the owner). With the Bills, it seems to be part of the makeup of the front office and coaching staff from Beane and McDermott on down. For the Bills, I think a character coach would be redundant.

Oh. I'm glad you follow college ball more closely than I do. That might be a good thing. He's a bit underweight for a tackle, but maybe he kept his weight down to play DE because that's where Harbaugh wanted him. He's got real good speed for a DT. He should have the frame to add some quality weight and retain most of his speed. He could be a monster at 3 tech.

Gary played mostly inside at Michigan, I think. I also think he grumbled a bit about that because he thought that wasn't his best position, and that's why his numbers weren't so great. I think you might have a disgruntled player if you drafted him to plug in at 3 tech. He might be OK with playing defensive end on run downs and moving inside on 3rd and long.

That may be so, but that message hasn't been heard around the league yet.

Because of his struggles this past season. Love can be had somewhere on day three, probably somewhere in rounds 5-7. That could be a steal given his upside.
