  1. Agreed. He needed to get stronger coming out of college, but he's a perfect fit for 3 tech, the spot that Kyle Williams' retirement left open. Sign him then draft BPA at #9 If the pick his Ed Oliver, then they will have a heck of a competition.
  2. I agree, he was OK. I think the Bills want better than OK, It is going to be interesting having two new tackles in Nsekhi and Waddle. Neither is an established starter in the NFL, but both have some starting experience, and by all accounts performed pretty well when they did have the opportunity to start. It appears Breandon Beane thinks both are better than Mills. We'll see if he's right.
  3. I don't know the rules exactly. I know there is a threshhold for starting games above which players are not PS eligible. I would guess Teller is under, but I'm not positive.
  4. Miller, Mills and Groy are already gone. I don't imagine Sirles or McDermott will be here this summer. Bodine, Dawkins and Teller are the likely holdovers. Bodine will back up Morse. Teller will compete with Feliciano and Long to start, and now Waddle will back up Dawkins and Nsekhi. I expect Buffalo will probably draft a couple offensive linemen, but they will probably be day three picks that the team can stash away on PS or IR to develop down the road.
  5. Ed Oliver is generally regarded as more of a difference make at DT than Jonah Williams is at tackle/guard. Williams is regarded as the most technically proficient tackle in the draft, but he doesn't have outstanding physical or athletic traits. Add to this the fact that Buffalo has massively upgraded their offensive line with now free agents, while not signing a single defensive lineman indicates to me that the choice between J Williams and Ed Oliver is close to a no brainer. Don't completely rule out an edge rusher, WR or TE though.
  6. Sounds like an outstanding value signing. Except for an injury in 2014, he might be a starter in the NFL today. He's got a great scouting report coming out of college. The only negative was the unconventional college offense he was in. He's played both ends of the LOS, is athletic with a strong upper body and and smart. I would guess Buffalo's only holdover at tackle from last season is probably going to be Dawkins. I don't see see Conor McDermott beating out Dawkins, Nsekhi or Waddle. I don't know that Sirles' ability to play inside or outside will net him a roster spot. Waddle also happens to know New England's offensive system inside and out.
  7. I think he has fully embraced the notion that a QB needs to be a leader on his team. There are all kinds of leaders, and we see examples of several types among NFL QBs There is no question Ben Roethlisberger is a leader for the Steelers, but I sure wouldn't like to see Allen do some of the things Roethlisberger has done - like shaming his star WR on a radio broadcast. Fortunately, Josh Allen seems to have better sense than that so far. Reaching out to new players to welcome them, interacting with players on the sideline to encourage them, even cheering his GM for good moves: it all shows Allen is fully involved in the culture that is the Buffalo Bills.
  8. Maybe Miami will sign Gabbert now.
  9. AJ McCarron is available. LOL
  10. He would be an excellent fit. High character, outstanding athleticism, great special teamer. He came to football late. He's older for his experience level, but also has low miles for his age. I think he was a teammate of Josh Allen's at Wyoming. He converted from safety to LB while at Wyoming, so he might have some cover skills in pass defense.
  11. Three years ago I would have been more interested. Now? Not so much.
  12. Kyler Murray to the AFC is a long shot at best. Rosen has a better shot of ending up there. It's wonderful to see a list like that with Tom Brady not on it (nor does he belong on it).
  13. Justice Hill would be my choice if the Bills are looking for a young explosive running back, but we'll get who we get, or nobody at all.
  14. Not so sure. Sometimes winning can keep diva egos sanguine for a while. I find in hard to imagine all those egos can mesh long term, but it might be possible they can work together for one good run.
  15. If he has any confidence left after the Arizona debacle last year, Miami will crush whats left. Hmmm, can NFL players develop PTSD?
  16. We can agree to disagree. I stand by my memory on this.
  17. Obviously, this is a rebuild, and it looks like tanking is part of the process in Giantland. When teams rebuild, it's hard to judge based on looks. Things can look real bad and then improve quickly. Whether Gettleman eventually gets it turned around, it looks real bad right now.
  18. If you could somehow graft Zach Gentry's size to Hockenson's all around play and Noah Fant's superior athleticism, then you'd have Gronk.
  19. I wanted John Murphy to ask him who could throw further - Tyree Jackson or Josh Allen. I also wanted to see him laugh a little or at least crack a smile. Someone needs to dangle a Twizzler in front of his face. He's been working with Tyree Jackson and today was his pro day at UB.
  20. I would be completely shocked if Buffalo moved up from 9. Of course, any trade requires an interested partner, but I wouldn't mind a trade down. I think Ed Oliver is the most likely pick at #9, pending his pro day (not having run all the tests and drills at the combine). I don't think Josh Allen will be available. I'd be a little surprised if Buffalo went offensive line that high after the free agents Beane signed. If Buffalo does not sign Ziggy Ansah, I suppose an edge rusher could be in play (Montez Sweat, Brian Burns or Clelin Ferrell. I won't be completely shocked if Buffalo picked DK Metcalf, but I don't think it's terribly likely.
  21. You have to be able to respect the man who has his hands on your butt.
  22. I like the conversation in this thread. I don't think Buffalo has answered every question, by any means. I agree with those who point to the draft as a key to making this thing work. Beane made a strategic decision not to focus on big name players in free agency. Mitch Morse is a fairly big name, and he was made the highest paid center in the league. John Brown is a little less of a big name, but he's still notable. Beane also signed guys in the Micah Hyde category - guys who had playing time, maybe even a few starts, but were not household names. They still have the potential to come in and if not gain the near stardom like Hyde, at least might turn into solid starters - Nsekhe and Feliciano. There are questions about some players - Kevin Johnson's health, but I think this team has a chance to be significantly better than the 6-10 team from last season. I don't know that they are quite ready to dethrone New England, and the playoffs are not a guarantee at this point, but now that the cap situation has been cleared up, Brandon Beane clearly has his eyes on that goal.
