  1. Josh Rosen was supposed to be the hyperintelligent renaissance man last year, but our guy is a lot smarter.
  2. That almost guarantees they'll draft a running back, just not in the first round.
  3. Oops! You're right. It's terribly embarrassing to correct somebody and still get it wrong. STANFORD and Lacey are both good athletes, but have never stood out at linebacker. It would be nice if we had guys who could play special teams AND play a position well if need be.
  4. It's still not Stafford. He plays QB for the Detroit Lions. Julian Sanford.
  5. I think moving up for an edge rusher is a waste of draft picks. Sweat has a heart issue and might drop because of that. Burns out of Florida State is another potent edge rusher. Rahan Gary doesn't have the production, but it's been suggested that was the way he was used. He's bigger than Sweat, and doesn't have as much raw speed, but he's freakishly fast for his size. The point is, if Buffalo wants an edge rusher, there are going to be outstanding options at #9.
  6. I believe it's Julian Sanford, and yes, depth at linebacker is probably the area of the team where the need is greatest. We sill could use a solid rotational player at 3 Tech and defensive end on the defensive line, but other than those areas, we could probably go into the team and be reasonably comfortable. Yes, I know you should always try to upgrade wherever you can, but those areas look to me as id the areas with the most acute needs.
  7. I know it's just a highlight video, but to make that video Allen had to have a ton of nice highlights. Thank you.
  8. I haven't agreed with many of your posts, but this makes plenty of sense if they can find a trading partner or partners.
  9. It's always possible. I'm not expecting it. I think it's more likely the bills trade down from #9 than back into the bottom of the first. I think the sweet spot of this draft is likely in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
  10. What about the New England running game? Toward the end of last season, and through the playoffs, that's what New England relied on more than passing. And of course, they also have Edelman, and nobody has yet figured out how to cover him in the short and intermediate passing game. This thread kind of sounds like another angle to assert that Buffalo should draft Hockenson at #9. I still don't buy it.
  11. The question is not completely ridiculous as Fisher did line up in the backfield as a blocker for Cincinnati on occasion. I don't think it's likely to happen, but I also don't think that DiMarco is the dominant blocking fullback he was reputed to be when he came to the Bills.
  12. I'm glad.
  13. The Bills, you can be assured, have done their due diligence on the kid. My assumption is the areas of his game that are lacking have more to do with coaching that is not quite up to par with say Alabama. I think the Bills would draft him, and I think he would come in and learn from Jerry Hughes and the Bills' coaches, and he'll be just fine.
  14. Absolutely wonderful news. Raises the chances of a trade down for Buffalo as well as pushing down another player who otherwise would not have dropped to the Bills.
  15. I assume the Bills will want 4 TEs on the 53 man roster, and they want to be able to play any one of them. That rules out a newbie basketball to football convert. However, if they like the guy and it works out, there's no reason he couldn't be signed and stashed away on the PS for a year to learn how to play.
  16. He's been very clear about his philosophy of team building: "Fill needs in free agency, draft BPA." He's got the cap space, so he went into free agency thinking, I need this, this, and this. As is normal the professional personnel department had done their research on who would be available in free agency. Beane looked for good quality at a reasonable price. I don't think he has any qualms about paying out big money, but he clearly doesn't want to over pay if he can get reasonable quality at a good price. I think the choice of offensive tackles reflects that. Morse wasn't cheap, but Buffalo assured themselves of relative stability at the position for several years out at a time when Josh Allen absolutely needs some quality lined up in front of him.
  17. I hope everything goes well in your niece's treatment. I will say a prayer. Being naturally curious, I looked up hepatoblastoma. It is a rare cancer of the liver. It can metastasize, but usually does not. If it has not metastasized, it is normally treated with chemo followed by surgery. Survival rates if that can be done are around 80%.
  18. I think the point of the of the Manish tweet is that Buffalo knew what they wanted and went after Morse quickly. The offer the Bills made was enough, and sufficiently front loaded that Morse and his agent saw no reason to sit on their hands and see what the Jets (or anybody else) might do.
  19. I don't disagree. Players can grow and develop and change their game. Many do. Not every one does. Let me be clear. I'm not trying to be disparaging of Dillard. I think he's going to be a good pro, and I would not mind if Buffalo took him. As far as strength is concerned, the scouting reports suggest his play strength isn't what it could be. Part of that could be his physical style. Some linemen play more aggressively, and that just makes them look stronger. I just think that when Buffalo is picking, they will look at everything: the players physical make up, skill set, upside, risks, attitude, character - everything.
  20. The value in this draft makes it unlikely in my mind that the Bills trade away picks to get back into the first round. I just can't imagine a player falling that Beane would feel like he has to get his hands on. To put it another way, I don't think the value drop off from a pick in the twenties to the 40th pick overall is so drastic that it's worth giving up picks for. If Bean can package some day three picks to get another pick in round 2 or 3, that might tempt him.
  21. You're right. The thread is about an offensive tackle, so I stayed on that side of the LOS. If I'm going to talk about the Bills' pick, I don't have a particular horse in the race, but I think the odds somewhat favor a defensive pick. I think it will be from among Ed Oliver, Christian Wilkins, Sweat and Burns. There is still a possibility of a free agent signing that will affect the actual choice. Signing Ziggy Ansah shifts the odds toward a DT. In the unlikely event they sign Mohammed Wilkerson, the odds shift toward an edge rusher
  22. So, is Groundhog Day your favorite movie?
  23. Are they going to end up cutting a guy they just signed? Spain will turn 28 shortly before the season starts. Spounds like he might be better than one of the guys they just signed - Long or Feliciano.
  24. 6'2" 210 He played both CB and FS in college. Ran a 4.4 40 at his pro day. He's 29 and has been mostly a special teamer.
