  1. He can be activated from IR after 8 weeks. I doubt they will just to have him on the 53 man roster. If injuries create a need, he's available at that point. The Raiders would have put him on IR prior to cutdown day if that were the case. They specifically waited so he might be called up if need be later in the season.
  2. Probably not. It would be negligible in any case. I think the reason the Bills signed him is that he was as good a fit for what they wanted in a practice squad QB as anybody else out there, and better than most.
  3. My answer would be "relatively little." There is not a lot to be gained, but Webb does know something about Gase's offense , and that's probably worth something.
  4. If Ford struggles at the RT spot, the Bills can always switch things up during the season.
  5. Physically, he's a perfect safety. McBeane will have to decide if they think he can become a "process" guy. If the guy were to buy in, he could be a huge addition. I don't think they overlapped in Packerland at all, but maybe Micah Hyde could be a positive influence.
  6. The Bills are keeping Bojorquez since he's so valuable as a source of information about the New England Patriots special teams.
  7. Tyron Johnson is a perfect PS signee. He's not the tallest receiver, but he's tall enough with speed to burn. Apparently has decent hands. The only important box he doesn't check is development in terms of route tree. That can and will be coached while he's on the PS. Physically, he's a lot like Robert Foster. That's definitely not a bad thing.
  8. If Corey Bojorquez did not change his name to Matt Wile, yes.
  9. I can accept that Flores is going to do his best to win every game. The problem from Miami fans is that when it comes to personnel decisions, Miami's management is doing their best to try and lose every game. So, they are tanking despite the best efforts of Flores and the scrubs who are left on the Dolphins.
  10. Well, Buffalo did recently have a young QB prospect (now with the Raiders) who tends to look brilliant in preseason, and throws picks when games count. Maybe they think it can work the other way too. LOL
  11. I don't see why he wouldn't go through the season on the PS. He's comparable in quality to the rest of the young guys that are available. He has a decent arm and is reasonably athletic (though not a scrambler). The Bills need to have a PS QB if they don't have a third QB on the 53 man roster. Just because he has some familiarity with the Jets and Giants doesn't mean there aren't other good reasons to keep him.
  12. I'm OK with Davis Webb. He's closer to being NFL ready than Tyree. He's a good athlete, but is not a scrambler. I think he needs work in the mental aspect of his game - making reads, manipulating DBs etc. Has a good arm and physically, he's a big QB like Josh Alen.
  13. Belichick's charm: "Sign with us and the odds say you'll have a super bowl ring within a couple years." Belichick's charm: "Sign with us and the odds are you'll have a Super Bowl ring within a couple years."
  14. Luis Perez is a QB. He played in the now defunct AAF startup league. He was pretty impressive when I saw him. He is one of the QBs who just got cut around the league. I'd be OK with him. My reasoning for starting the thread is that I don't think it is wise for a team to go into a season with only 2 QBs and no QB on the PS. Yeah, teams will choose to have only 2 QBs on the 53 man roster, but if your starter goes down and you have to start your backup, you want to have somebody on your roster who knows your offensive system and can be activated with one week's notice to be available for emergency service.
  15. Who do you want them to sign? Who do you think they will sign? I'm rooting for Luis Perez.
  16. I think from the Bills' perspective, he's close to a clone of Isaiah McKenzie, only McKenzie is a hair faster. McCloud isnot slow. I think the Bills hoped they could sneak Ray Ray on to the PS.
  17. The article states that Tyree Jackson will NOT be signed to the Bills practice squad. Michael Gehlkin is the reporter covering Dallas, who states the Bills signed Nate Hall.
  18. Since Shady was cut loose, my suspicion is the Bills use one of their regular 10 slots for Wade. Three is not a huge number of RBs to try and make it through the season.
  19. Iassume the "other Colquit" to whom you're referring is Dustin. Yes, they are brothers. There is actually a whole family of Colquit punters.
  20. The Bills will absolutely have a QB on their PS. I would not rule out Tyree, but there are some other intriguing guys too. Luis Perez was a QB in that AAF league that folded, and did pretty well. Falk is a little like Barkley. Not a great arm, but he throws a catchable ball, and makes a lot of timing throws.
  21. We're talking 1,000 prospects suddenly flooding the talent pool. Teams will have already filled out their practice squad and if they have already signed offensive linemen they may be content with the guy(s) they have rather than going out and signing a guy who might not be obviously better. It is advantageous for Buffalo to keep the guy because of his familiarity with the Bills' offense, but he does not offer that advantage to other teams. I can see where the author has a valid point.
  22. Good size and speed. Would the league let Buffalo assign the same jersey # to both J. Browns? Put both on the field at the same time. Opposing secondaries wouldn't know which CB to line up on which Brown. LOL I suppose that would be too much to hope for from the No Fun League.
  23. Starter quality offensive linemen are in short supply because of the kinds of offenses run in college. There are prospects available. On this particular list, the author contends that Boettger may have been kept because the Bills think they have a better chance of sneaking him on to their practice squad by waiting until after other teams have mostly assembled their practice squads from the talent pool just created by cutdown day. If McDermott can be upgraded, the Bills will. If not, Meh, they can keep McDermott. He's at least serviceable in a pinch.
  24. Hoyer had some success when he played for Cleveland. I'm assuming he has more wins when starting than Barkley. Barkley has the twin advantages of youth (compared with Hoyer) and experience with Daboll's offense. I think the benefit of familiarity with New England's offense is pretty minimal. McDermott and Frazier are already pretty familiar with the stuff the Patriots do on offense. If Belichick had any inkling that a former Patriot was giving away Patriot signals to another team, he change the signals up to throw them off. Buffalo will be further ahead by Josh Allen becoming really proficient in his reads, both pre-snap and post-snap. If Buffalo adds another QB and I think they will) it will be to the PS, which means it's going to be a young one.
