  1. The most irritating thing to me is the results of making pass interference or the lack thereof and challengeable issue. The results? Multiple obvious bad calls across the league that are not overturned. It is in essence Al Riveron giving the league the finger for questioning the competence of officials in the first place by making pass interference something that can be challenged. Riveron needs to be fired and the league needs to find somebody to fill that position who has at least a shred of integrity.
  2. Not making the playoffs would be a major surprise and disappointment at this point. Teams that once looked intimidating aren't anymore. Yes, KC is still going to be competitive, but they are no longer the unstoppable juggernaut they appeared to be three weeks ago. New England is still intimidating, especially with the help they get from referees, but they will have one or more losses on their record by the time Buffalo plays them again, and so far Buffalo plays them as tough as anybody. Josh Allen just needs to continue developing.
  3. Oh to be 60 again! In any case, welcome. As a fan who has no formal background in football at all, I always welcome the input of posters who have actual knowledge. Growing up on the Southern Tier is another plus. I'm a Salamanca boy.
  4. It won't matter who plays QB for Miami. Buffalo should get a double digit win. Miami keeps their "perfect season" intact.
  5. My prediction is that he'll be back next August and make an equally ridiculous set of predictions.
  6. I think it's Quinn, but it's going to be a few games away, as has been stated, when the Falcons are eliminated.
  7. I believe there was a thread on this when the NY Post article was first published last January. In any case, the science project validates the league rule that standardizes the allowable air pressure, but does nothing to prove that Brady is the guilty party. (I think he's guilty, but that's not the the subject of the project even though the kid who did it would like to think so.)
  8. I'm not suggesting that the Bills are interested in replacing Singletary, but speed at running back is another tool/weapon they could certainly find a use for. If Gore does a one and done for the Bills, they will have two RBs on the roster after the season. Perry, the special teams/utility guy is 32 years old. He's certainly not guaranteed to be on the roster next season. If the Bills have room for two, why not look for a one cut power guy and a speed guy. I'm assuming they can also fill those holes with guys that can excel at special teams.
  9. I think the Bills are OK with their RB situation this year. While Perry is primarily a special teamer, he does know the offense and can be used as a RB if necessary. The Bills offensive line is worlds better than last season, so I think they can get some production from just about any running back. I do expect the running back room will look different next year. Gore is probably a one year rent-a-player for Buffalo because of his age, so I expect the Bills to add a similar, though much younger running back in the next off season, a one cut guy with some power. They might also look for a youngster with home run speed. Singletary is elusive and has nice acceleration, but no top end speed.
  10. The irony here is that Miami has a QB who is developing and growing to the point where he could be a force next year, but if the Dolphins do as expected, they will waste that development and start a rookie next year who will probably go through all the same growing pains. With a little luck, Miami will fire their head coach after yet another terrible season in 2020 and we can watch the whole hot mess play out again starting in 2021.
  11. I never read through every page of a long thread. I went all the way through this one. I didn't see Chris Berman's trademark "He could . . . go. . . all. . . the. . . way." That goes well with "They're getting good penetration."
  12. I pretty much always leave the past in the past. No point in fretting over what's done.
  13. I think it was in reference to a player named Chris Watson. Those aren't the exact words son of Bum used, but close enough.
  14. Sorry. I missed the last part of his line.
  15. I'd rather have him in the AFC East. You actually believe something just because Rex said it?
  16. If the league office is not going to overturn obvious bad pass interference calls/non-calls, why bother allowing teams to challenge the call? By the way, on the same play, a Patriots defensive player hit Daniel Jones in the lower legs after the ball was gone. It was the same kind of play Milano was called for, except I don't think the Patriots player was tripped by a Giants player. Kraft must be taking the officials out for a nightcap after the game.
  17. That's just average for Miami's opponents thus far this season.
  18. Miami has scored and average of 6.5 points per game through their first 4 games of the season while giving up an average of over 40 points per game. They have had their bye. Buffalo has scored an average of 18 points per game and giving up an average of 14. The Patriots were a common opponent for the two teams. The Patriots beat Miami 43-0 in Miami. They beat Buffalo by 16-10. As a home game for Buffalo, a 15.5 spread seems about right. As bad as Miami is defensively, I could easily see Buffalo having an offensive explosion, while Miami is going to have a tough time scoring at all.
  19. What it boils down to is it only matters how the QB is affected in the roughing penalty. How he got affected that way does not matter in the least. Milano hit Mariota low. That's a penalty. I suppose if Milano had been blocked into him, there might be case for appealing the ruling (or complaining about it since there is no appeal. In this case, Milano was blocked low and his momentum carried him to Mariota's feet. Does not matter. Go to the rules committee and make you case that the rule should be written, but as the rule is written, it was correctly enforced.
  20. Hmm, it sounds like Brandon Beane. Sean McDermott and Les Frazier all know what they're doing when it comes to staffing and coaching a great defense.
  21. Looks like an ideal big nickel.
  22. Report, rumor or speculation? If it's the latter, which I suspect is the case, it's not worth it to me to pay much attention.
  23. Tre White has not racked up a lot of stats thus far in the season. Opposing QBs are not targeting him. That makes it hard to get recognition.
  24. The other thing in the comparison of the Patriots and Bills, neither team has faced many offensive juggernauts. The Bills faced a good offense in the Patriots, but not vice versa. The Patriots, like the Bills, have an easy schedule this season, but I think their unreal defensive stats will come back to reality over the course of the season as they face some better offensive teams.
  25. Well, we could have Donald Trump or Jon Bon Jovi as owners, or even Dan Snyder in a parallel universe. Any one of those would have been the ultimate mistake. That a rookie owner makes a few mistakes as he's learning the ropes is to be expected. You're right about their commitment to Buffalo and focus on the goal.
