  1. Yeah, look at the time line. Sunday, October 27 - Joe Flacco throws his head coach under the bus. Fangio has almost 24 hours to look for an opportunity to strangle his QB. Monday October 28 - the team reports Flacco has a neck injury. Speculation is he could be placed on IR. It's just too obvious, isn't it?
  2. This was a total team loss. Josh Allen played poorly. Both offensive and defensive lines were physically overmatched. Receivers (from what I could see on TV) weren't getting open. There were pre-snap penalties, poor tackling, and sloppy play all around, both offense and defense.
  3. Washington and Miami are should win games IMO. The Browns and Broncos are winnable, but both teams can be competitive on a given Sunday.
  4. Philly definitely wanted it more than Buffalo.
  5. I don't believe it. If more of your wins are AFC wins, It gives a slight advantage in terms of tie breakers for a wild card spot, but a loss is never better than a win.
  6. Of course it's the most important game of the year. It's the next one.
  7. So, how hard is it going to be for the Jets to find free agents willing to sign with the team? LOL
  8. Of course, with a concussion it is impossible to predict recovery time. Keenum could be ready in time to practice for the Nov. 3rd game or miss the rest of the season, or anything in between.
  9. I don't disagree. The Bills are playing Jordan Phillips at nose at least some of the time because Kyle Peko isn't big enough or strong enough to handle it. Phillips is a more natural 3 tech despite his size, but at least he's big enough not to get pushed around. It's just that the Bills' lack of murmuring about DT makes me think they've decided to try and make it through the season with their current foursome at DT knowing they get Harrison Phillips back next year. I don't necessarily agree with Buffalo's approach
  10. Only in the morning. Could be a few showers in the afternoon, but the soaker is done with. The field might still be wet. The wind will play havoc with deep passes, punts and field goals, but fans should be reasonably comfortable.
  11. Him too, but I don't think the Bills are looking for DT specifically.
  12. I agree that he's likeable. If you're asking if I identify with him, the answer is no. Our personalities are very different.
  13. Just being an intra-division trade would drive the price up on Anderson.
  14. Fitzpatrick has always been a streaky QB. He's fearless and will put up some balls he shouldn't sometimes. The result is clusters of interceptions. He got pretty hot against Buffalo last Sunday. Wentz is not the most accurate passer in the league by far. He likes to fling the ball deep and without Desean Jackson he just doesn't have the weapons to do what he likes. Ertz is a really good and reliable short and intermediate range receiver at the TE position, but he's not the athletic deep threat of some other elite, athletic TEs in the league. Anyway, the result is Wentz will overlook opportunities to complete short passes on occasion because he's looking for the chance to hit a deep strike that may never come. That may give the Bills a chance to make some big plays on defense.
  15. At 5-1, I'm not terribly worried. Take care of business and we'll be fine. Beat Philly and Buffalo needs to have four more wins in the last 9 games to have a very good chance at a wild car berth. Five wins in the last 9 games and a wild card berth is almost guaranteed. Frankly, this year, even a 9-7 record leaves Buffalo in good shape. I'm looking for bigger fish to fry, however. I'm hoping New England falters a bit in the second half and Buffalo comes to life on offense. We've got one more crack at New England, in New England. I'm not writing that game off as a loss just yet.
  16. I think Thompson is more likely to play than Milano. Just my opinion.
  17. So, Buffalo wins the message board competition? Might as well stop here and just proclaim Buffalo the winner this weekend.
  18. I'll bet Sam Darnold's last game versus the Patriots was worse by PFF's measure than Josh Allen's.
  19. He actually used poor technique, allowing the ball to come in to his body. He should have snatched the ball with his hands, and then brought it into his body. He's lucky it didn't bounce off of him.
  20. Obviously they are an elite defense, and in the conversation for best ever, but they are particularly adapted to take advantage of young inexperienced QBs. Not conincidentally, they have face a number of those early this season. They would be a challenge for any QB, but Aaron Rodgers is going to look far different against this defense than Sam Darnold looks. BTW, Buffalo probably has the personnel to follow New England's strategy on defense when Buffalo faces the Jets at the end of the season.
  21. Agreed. I can't see anybody offering a lot of money to a 43 year old QB though, and I definitely don't see anyone offering a multiyear deal.
  22. My question is how do you fix the rules. If you change the rule so that the clock stops for penalties, it allows the losing team to save time by deliberately committing a penalty. 40 seconds could easily be more valuable than the 5 yard cost of a false start penalty to a team that is three points behind with no timeouts and 45 seconds on the game clock. Could you actually write the rule so the clock only stops for penalties if the team committing the penalty is ahead?
  23. I think Levi Wallace was exposed a bit. He's a smart and technically sound CB, but physically he's limited. He has some length, but he's not real fast and he's not real physical. Yesterday Miami's 6'5" receiver had his way with Wallace. Ryan Fitzpatrick got hot and was putting the ball on the money and there didn't seem to be much Wallace could do about it even though he was in position. If Buffalo is looking to upgrade their defense in the offseason, that's one spot where they could look.
  24. This. He's always looking and he always has his eye on value. He hates overpaying, and he won't trade away future assets unless he's pretty sure the player he gets is going to be an upgrade. He will not trade just to make a trade. I think some GMs will, just on the hope that the new guy might give his team a spark. Beane wants more than "hope."
  25. Judging by a comparison of preseason opinions of what Buffalo's season would be like and their current 5-1 record, McDermott should be considered a frontrunner. We'll have to see if it still looks that way in December. Kyle Shanahan also has to be in that conversation, but I think Arians and Shurmur have probably dropped out of the running.
