  1. Well, the Jets didn't need a good reason to hire him in the first place. Do they need a good reason to keep him?
  2. It's not going to be an easy game. Hopefully, it finally sinks in to the Buffalo defenders that they need to maintain gap discipline in run defense.
  3. There is room for improvement in several areas. Guard is one of those areas. It's been mentioned that moving Ford to guard and drafting a tackle could be the way to go. I think Buffalo needs another RB to complement Singletary. Gore may be hitting the wall right now. I think Buffalo needs a nose tackle and defensive end. They could use another WR and CB too. It's a bit early to get too heavily into mock drafting, but I like Draft Tek's latest effort. They have Buffalo taking CeeDee Lamb WR in the first, Lucas Niang OT in the second, Chuda Hubbard in the third, Neville Gallimore DT in the fifth, and Kendall Coleman DE in the 6th There are a couple head scratchers in the mock too, but I think Hubbard and Gallimore could be terrific. https://www.drafttek.com/2020-NFL-Mock-Draft/2020-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round-1b.asp (if you want to check it out)
  4. Yeah, that's possible. Jordan won't be thrilled with that though. I think he probably is enjoying the notoriety he gets when he's able to cause disruption from the 3 tech spot. Nose tackle is a pretty thankless job if you get your thrills from reading your stats. He's done some of it and knows the drill though.
  5. Peko's problem is he was trying to play nose tackle with an under tackle's body (and I'm being generous at that). Oliver could get away with that in college, but in the NFL those big centers and guards are going to eat you for lunch. Now the question will be, can Taylor adjust from playing 3 tech on the PS to playing nose on the active roster?
  6. Washington has decent defensive linemen, but lousy linebacking. At least now we know why the latter is true.
  7. That too.
  8. Yup. Courtesy of the Patriots legal team and cozy relationships with regional court officials?
  9. Let's hope Allen doesn't turn out to be another Kyle Allen or Gardner Minshew
  10. Washington game plan: Peterson right, Peterson left, Peterson up the middle.
  11. Will do.
  12. Buffalo only has Maurice Alexander listed as out Corey Thompson is not even on the injury report, so he will be the first reserve in to give Milano (and probably Lorenzo Alexander) a breather or be available in case of injury. Washington lists these starters as out: Montae Nicholson at free safety, Vernon Davis at TE, and Case Keenum at QB. In addition, Chris Thompson, Adrian Peterson's primary backup at running back is out as well as Deshazor Everett, a backup strong safety. Buffalo lists four players as questionable: Nsekhe, Kurt Coleman, Cody Ford and Levi Wallace. From the sounds of it (Chris Brown's practice report on One Bills Live) Ford and Wallace are more likely to play than not. The one I find curious is Nsekhe. He was reported as not practicing on Wednesday, but it was labeled as a rest day. He practices fully on Thursday and Friday, yet is listed as questionable. They are not telling us something, but I don't know what. https://www.redskins.com/team/injury-report/ (the Redskins site has injury reports for both teams. The Bills' site only lists Buffalo.)
  13. True. I think some team physicians are more reliable than others. Buffalo seems inclined to err on the side of caution under the present regime, so they might merit a little more trust than Washington, but even so...
  14. I would never have thought to trust team doctors with anything other than football related injuries.
  15. Probably a factor in the Patriots' decision to trade for Sanu.
  16. Through six games, the Bills seemed to more than hold their own at the LOS. They had one game where they struggled on both offense and defense. I do think on defense there is room to add some beef at some point, but I think the problem versus Philly was mostly execution. I don't know why they got sloppy and careless, but they did. That's where McDermott needs to focus his effort.
  17. Agreed. He would also be a difference making DE in a 3-4, but Sean McDermott is not going to switch any time soon.
  18. Did anyone not know that Nick O'Leary is the grandson of Jack Nicklaus? I guess a few from time to time mistakenly thought he was the grandson of Jack Nickols, but his relationship to the legendary golfer is pretty common knowledge among Bills fans by now. Nice story, but he doesn't have enough ability to be any kind of difference maker on the field. Think a slower, shorter and less athletic Tommy Sweeney
  19. The Bengals have never demonstrated a high level of care for what their players want. Whether they sign him, franchise him or let him walk, what he wants doesn't really matter.
  20. I think Schopp might have played a little tennis.
  21. Essentially, he's saying that multiple coaching staffs during his tenure in Buffalo were lax in their preparation and work at developing players in comparison with New England. Does anyone disagree with that? I get the impression that McDermott is far closer to Belichick in his attention to detail than any coach Buffalo has ever had, even Marv Levy. Whether or not he's as thorough as the evil emperor, only a player who has been under both could know.
  22. More speed than Nate Hall at a similar size. This move has nothing to do with replacing Harrison Phillips anything more than it has to do with adding production at WR. It's about tweaking the back end of the roster. I'm OK with doing that. I eagerly await Beane's explanation for not making a move on the 53 man roster.
  23. I thought the Bills would have activated Taylor before they settled on Peko. I don't know whether Taylor is a zero, one or three tech DL, but I thought Peko is a 3 tech. Taylor is bigger and stronger, and physically at least is a better fit for the nose position, the same position Harrison Phillips normally plays as a backup.I'm guessing the Bills activated Peko because he's been with the team longer and knows the system better. The Bills coaching staff places high value on those qualities, but in this case I question whether it was the right choice.
  24. Well, considering that the initial post quotes Ian Rappaport reporting that the Broncos are considering putting him on IR, I'd say you're probably right.
