Quincy Enunwa the latest Jet to put team on blast

I wonder what kind of culture Gase thinks he's building. -
Would you want the Bills to sign Tom Brady?
TigerJ replied to BillsFan8083's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only if he signs for vet minimum. -
I often stay away from TBD for a day or two after a loss. Part of it is just my way of dealing with the loss, but part is also my distaste for the blame game. It is a team game. On rare occasions a single player can be singled out as having primary responsibility for a loss, but most of the time losses happen because there are multiple failures by multiple people, not to mention on occasion the other team plays really well.

Browns in a physical game where both teams get beat up. -
Taylor, J. Phillips & Liuget take over the D-Line
TigerJ replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't be surprised to see Lotulelei and Liuget together quite a bit on obvious run downs. -
Cleveland is loaded with talent, but have no chemistry and inconsistent coaching. The talent makes them dangerous. The lack of chemistry and coaching accounts in part for their lousy record. The other factor for Cleveland is a brutal schedule. Their schedule has been as tough as Buffalo's has been easy. Vernon has been a really good defensive end, and his absence will be a benefit to Buffalo. However, it's been noted that they have Miles Garrett on the other end of the line. They also have great skill players on offense. If Baker Mayfield were to suddenly pull out a game where he plays like he did a year ago, Cleveland would be very tough. I think Buffalo can win this game, but a Cleveland playing at the level where their talent says they might will hardly be a cakewalk.

Bucs Rookie Kahzin Daniels blind in one eye to make start
TigerJ replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure the lack of depth perception would affect a person at some positions more than others. I can't imagine anyone trying to play WR at a high level with only one eye. It would increase the challenge of every position though. More power to him if he can do it. -
Jason Whitlock may be on to something..

The positive contributions that Christianity brings to coaching football are primarily love (for players as human beings) and modeling a commitment to something bigger than oneself. Of course, not everyone who calls himself/herself a Christian genuinely lives out those qualities, but it can be a pretty powerful influence from one who does model it genuinely. Can you bring those qualities to coaching without being a Christian? Sure, but Christianity has everything laid out pretty well. Is being a Christian a guarantee that you'll be a good coach? Hardly. You need other things as well, but caring about your players, modeling love and compassion and commitment to something greater than oneself is never a bad thing. It will always enhance the culture of a team. -
The London Chargers? In the AFC East? It could happen
TigerJ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do wonder if the team that ends up in London will change its name to the London Fog. -
Is Brady playing for the Bills record?
TigerJ replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that Tom is interested in records and his personal legacy. I don't think that going to four straight Super Bowls, or even five would be the trigger that causes him to retire. Even if I thought that, I wouldn't want to see him get it just to be rid of him. Record or no record, his body is going to break down and give out at some point. Father Time is undefeated. I'd rather see him retire because he physically can't handle it any more than because he has records that nobody will ever touch. -
The last time Sean McDermott played OBJ
TigerJ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My bad, but they are still underutilizing OBJ considering his compensation and the hype. Landry on the other side is an interesting receiver. He was OBJ's teammate at LSU but doesn't have near the physical gifts of Beckham. He's slow and not terribly big. He's not going to take the top off a defense. He's a chain mover, but I don't think he's a shifty as Beasley. His main strength is he's tough as nails and he can get open with his route running. Without special physical gifts, I have to believe that he can be defended with a sound scheme and disciplined DBs. -
The last time Sean McDermott played OBJ
TigerJ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Browns signed OBJ to a big money free agent deal and are turning him into a role player. The fact that the weather will be lousy for passing won't help his cause. -
Could very well be. It will be interesting to see if the balance shifts more toward the pass when Buffalo plays in Miami (and in Dallas).

Move New England to London and let them play in a European based league. (there are lots of them) -
While we're busy giving our critiques of everything Bills, I had a thought. While the Bills didn't look very impressive on offense versus Washington (as they've been unimpressive all season) Daboll may be thinking ahead. Buffalo focused on the ground game. Josh Allen could have passed more but didn't. Aside from the fact that it was windy on Sunday, Buffalo is heading into the time of the year when bad weather is more likely than not. Buffalo plays Cleveland in Cleveland this coming Sunday. Weather in Cleveland won't be any better than in Buffalo. The forecast is for temps in the mid 40s. A windy day with showers is expected. While the deep passing game is exciting (and I'd love to see it make a resurgence), it's probably not going to work well in those conditions. What's going to work is a solid run game and a controlled passing game. While Buffalo only has 3 home games in the back half of the season, all but two of the 8 games are going to be in a norther venue. At Miami and Dallas are the exceptions. Daboll is gearing up for games with lousy weather by using a dull offense that reduces turnover risk and relies on the run.

Mark Walton, MIA RB, Suspended 4 games
TigerJ replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When playing Miami, just put three guys on Gesicki and a spy on Fitzy. They don't have anyone left who can handle a ball. LOL -
There is no issue. I can't imagine anyone begrudging Peko another chance to play in the NFL and collect an NFL paycheck. He's obviously a good guy. He just wasn't working out for Buffalo.

Amazing how the National Press Ignores the Bills
TigerJ replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Buffalo beats Cleveland, the national headlines will be how the Browns have reached a new low this season. Buffalo's next chance to force some positive notice will be by winning on Thanksgiving Day versus Dallas, provided they win their games leading up to Dallas. -
Weird stuff happens when we play the Brownies
TigerJ replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right about that. Daboll will have to game plan with him in mind, and Allen will need to take the precautions in the game plan seriously. He will not get away with holding the ball four or five seconds waiting for a receiver to get open. -
I agree this is not good news for Oliver, but I think it's less about Oliver playing poorly and more about Phillips playing lights out. On limited snaps, the guy leads all NFL defensive tackles in sacks through the halfway point of the season. It does leave Buffalo with a bit of a dilemma after the season. Phillips is playing better and deserves to be the starter, but will be a free agent and is going to merit a BIG contract. Oliver still has great upside but with fewer snaps may develop more slowly. Still, he's on a rookie deal for three more years after this season, plus his option year as a first rounder. I presume the Bills keep Oliver and hope he develops despite not getting starter snaps.

Lamar Jackson and Greg Roman is the perfect marriage of QB and OC. Another QB is going to struggle in some ways with Roman's offense and Jackson would have more obvious weaknesses in any other offensive system. Roman's scheme though fits exactly what Jackson does well. He's like Tyrod Taylor, only with talent, and Baltimore has given him a solid supporting cast too. I'm thrilled that the Raven's are beating New England, but man they are going to be tough to try and beat in a few weeks.
