  1. I don't buy the inferior roster notion. I do think that on the offense, a fairly high number of players are pretty early in their learning curve. : Allen, Singletary, Knox and Ford. Three of those are rookies, and, of course, Allen is in just his second year. Also being a completely rebuilt, (Allen and Dawkins being the only holdovers) achieving chemistry has been a process this season. With a number of one and two year deals for the guards, Gore and Nsekhe, there will continue to be some turnover over the next couple years, but not nearly to the degree we had this year. The decrease in turnover should result in increased production next season.
  2. Looking at the video, I think it's a whiff. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Yes, it's legal.
  3. Bills Mafia, please don't ask him to jump trough a table. We once lost a QB just because he slipped on a rubber mat. I dare say jumping through a table carries a higher risk factor than that.
  4. Of course you can't understand him. You speak English.
  5. I don't know. If your owner is trying to tank for Tua, and your head coach figures out a way to win some games after your GM trades away your top talent, is that every going to win your owner's vote as a Coach of the Year?
  6. I think there are times when using Gore is the right choice. Do you know what the stat line was for Gore in the last game versus the Patriots? 16 carries, 109 yards, 6.4 yards per carry. I think there are times when Buffalo has used Gore in ways they should not have. You NEVER want to run Gore outside. He just can't get to the edge fast enough to avoid containment. You don't want to run him inside against elite defensive tackles. That means some weeks you don't want to run him at all, Keep him inactive and activate Yeldon instead for the pass receiving threat he can present a defense. But, if you know your offensive line is playing pretty well, and you're facing an ordinary defensive line, Gore can be very useful as a short yardage back, an occasional chunk play up the middle and in the four minute offense late in a game when you're ahead. I'd like to see Duke Williams a little more, but I don't know that playing him is a sure solution for increasing offensive output. Same thing with McKenzie for Beasley. Cody Ford has been improving at right tackle, probably because he's play the last several games in their entirety, often against elite defensive ends. I like Nsekhe, but going forward, I don't think Ford is the huge liability that some think. Tyler Kroft has been targeted 9 times this season and has 5 receptions, a 55% catch rate. Dawson Knox has been targeted 46 times and has 27 receptions. That works out to a 58 % catch rate. I don't mind getting Kroft some more touches, but Knox is going to get better as he gains experience, and he has the tools to be special.
  7. Oh good. Another game where Buffalo needs to overcome both the officials and the opposing team.
  8. I've been lamenting the lack of continuity for the Bills for the last 10 years. Finally we're seeing what happens when you have quality coaching and consistency. With a little luck the same thing that happens with pro bowl voting happens when the current bottom feeders of the league are looking for new head coaching candidates, and they'll see right past Buffalo.
  9. I assume that the Bills (and probably every team in the league sends film to the league office on every bogus call. That was a bad call, but I thought the phantom facemask call on Tremaine Edmunds was worse if only because that ended up being half the distance to the goal (10 yards) versus 5 yards for the Offside.
  10. A lot of that will depend on free agency and the way the first round of the draft falls for Buffalo picking so late.
  11. (Fill in the name of your favorite national pundit): "Yes, the Bills beat New England last Saturday to bring their respective records to a tie, but this New England team is a shadow of their usual selves because of the lack of support for the QB at the skill positions and Tom Brady's bad elbow to boot. We all know the Patriots will be back on top of the AFC East next year."
  12. The Jets were projected to be a lot better than they turned out too.
  13. I can't wait until next year when Buffalo goes 13-3, is the number one seed in the AFC for the playoffs and they have two representatives named to the pro bowl when announcements are made just before Christmas.
  14. There are more up now than when I first checked. Besides SI, Fansided has them at #8.
  15. Note to NFL free agents: Buffalo has state of the art training and rehab facilities. They abide by all CBA provisions, but you can't do better than what the Bills provide.
  16. I checked half a dozen power rankings earlier today, and found the Bills ranked anywhere from 8 to 10. The #8 ranking appeared to be an outlier.
  17. I doubt that there is anything in the rules to prevent it. Invite Miami to send couple smart young assistants (offensive and defensive up to sit down with Daboll and Frazier for a consultation on the Patriots. Understand though that Belichick is a master at tailoring his game play to his specific opponents and defensively at least he has the tools to do almost anything that can be done. The bottom line is there is unlikely to be a lot of carryover in the New England approach to the Dolphins versus the Bills.
  18. I'm sure Belichick will try to throw some odd defensive wrinkles at the Bills on Saturday, but Josh has started enough games that he's seen most of what Belichick can come up with. It helps that Daboll knows Belichick very well. Winning in New England is never going to be easy, but the Bills are as equipped and anybody to give it a go.
  19. Duck Hodges - just another undrafted rookie QB.
  20. Well, I've got my cell phone and the yahoo sports app, so I can get it on my phone. Any of you techno-wizards out there know how to hook up your cel phone to the TV?
  21. Next year, they will be scheduling the Bills in prime time rather than flexing them there.
  22. A win in New England is far from a sure thing, but win or lose, it looks very much like the era of Patriot dominance is drawing to a close.
  23. He's great for Xs and Os on defense , but he also gets credit for the culture change in Buffalo. Players care about each other and the team. They play better because they're playing for a cause. Daboll is good with Xs and Os on offense, though I don't agree with everything he does. Josh Allen is developing. As he continues to develop and mature, he's going to make Daboll look better as a coordinator.
  24. Looking a lot like Houston. There's no reason why Buffalo can't go into Houston and come out the winner.
  25. Until the next time he cries on Goodell's shoulder, tells him he's sorry and asks for one more chance.
