  1. His skill set is a horrendous fit for Sean McDermott's defense. If he is a fit for what KC does on defense and he's still a backup, there is simply no way he could have been a contributor in what the Bills do now on defense.
  2. Just wait 4 weeks and you won't have to rely on somebody's speculation on how fast he runs. Not much point in worrying too much before then if 4.55 is fast enough.
  3. I've seen opinions among national observers that suggest Shenault is on the raw side. What they like is his versatility. I'm assume the combine will help settle the issue of speed.
  4. There is different terminology, but this technique is taught in many areas. It is taught, for instance in the social work universe as a means with dealing with troubled children. They would call it, "being in the moment." They teach it to the kids as well. Essentially it is a way of reminding oneself to clear the mind of distracting thoughts and focus on the things that need attention.
  5. Frankly, given that KC is in the Super Bowl, it's pretty obvious that however they handled the draft and free agency, it worked.
  6. If I got the NFL Network, I might watch the Senior Bowl. I don't, so I'll work on a book I've started reading.
  7. It makes a difference that Buffalo has Devin Singletary and Ed Oliver. I have no problem with Josh Jacobs. I'm just saying that Devin Singletary is one piece of evidence suggesting Brandon Beane did a nice job of handling the draft.
  8. Comparing Singletary to Josh Jacobs, it's true that Jacobs had more yards and played in more games. Singletary was easily the better draft value, taken in the third round.
  9. Most mocks that have Buffalo going WR in round 1 go with either Tee Higgins or Laviska Shenault. I've seen an outlier or two that go in a different direction. One recently had Buffalo picking Henry Ruggs III. A while back there was one that slotted Jalen Raegor to Buffalo for a while. If Yetur Gross-Matos goes before 22, it might be tough to find good value at DE. Curtis Weaver, maybe, but personally I think he's a bit of a reach. Chaisson is a talented edge rusher, but unless he adds some to his playing weight, he's undersized for a DE. He might replace Lorenzo Alexander, playing some at linebacker and some on the line.
  10. The only reason that should be any kind of concern is free agency. If visiting players have a bad first impression of what Buffalo is like, that may be an obstacle Beane has to overcome in persuading a free agent to sign with Buffalo.
  11. Devin Singletary's lack of height has not proven to be a disadvantage. He's as strong a runner and as willing a blocker as any other 200 lb running back. He doesn't really have the mass to be able to move the pile, and of course Edwards-Helaire isn't going to give you that either. The other thing he doesn't give you is long speed. He'll give you a lot of runs in the 10-15 yard range, but he's not going to break many 20+ yard runs. Edwards-Helaire will probably break a few of those.
  12. It would hardly be unheard of for Daniel Jeremiah's 15th ranked player to drop to 22. The one thing I wonder is the extent to which having Joe Burrow as his QB made him look good. I see Laviska Shenault is ranked #22, which happens to be where Buffalo picks.
  13. I think he is an intriguing possibility. Mike Evans is not going to happen. Perriman is a bit of a gamble, but he's still still young and less of a gamble than a number of other free agents Buffalo could choose to pursue. It's been noted that he would not be very expensive. Buffalo can draft a WR as well to create competition. I would make an offer.
  14. Just say the Rochester Club. I moved to the Rochester area a year ago last November. I live in Gates, about a half mile from the Wegmans on Lyell Ave. at Howard Rd.
  15. Essentially it means the Bills are probably not going to release Star Lotulelei, who is not a big stat guy but is perceived as a leader on the team, while they will probably not bid too high to retain the services of Jordan Phillips, who got a bunch of sacks this past season, but is neither a locker room leader, nor a really well rounded DT,
  16. I'm with you. He's a contributor to be sure, but the Bills already have a lot of money tied up in the defensive line. It's true that most of us fans think Lotulelei is over paid, but buffalo also has a budding star in Oliver and Harrison Phillips was looking like he was taking a big step forward when he got hurt. All of those factors mean not as much money is available to re-sign a player who is a liability in run defense.
  17. Binjamin Victor is definitely a late round guy to keep an eye on in the draft.
  18. This is certainly interesting. I thought Garrett was a kind of hands off head coach in Dallas, instead leaving it up to his offensive coordinator to design the offense, call plays and work with players. He was kind of a CEO type head coach, along the lines of Marv Levy. The Dallas offense, also, was reportedly pretty rudimentary, depending on superior talent at RB, WR and offensive line rather than creativity. We'll see how things pan out. I think they'll probably plan on moving forward with Daniel Jones at QB.
  19. Popeye Phillips? Maybe he'll be ready to come back next season and beat up on Bluto Belichick.
  20. I can't really say I have a favorite in the NFC. I'd kind of like to see KC win in the AFC. Mahomes is fun to watch and I'd like to see Andy Reid get his Super Bowl ring.
  21. I like what I'm reading about Laviska, but it doesn't make sense to get locked into a single player. If the draft doesn't fall the way you expect, he might not be available at 22 or Buffalo might be compelled because of value to go in a different direction. They might be picking a WR later in the draft. So, If Laviska is gone, who else is there?
  22. Makes a ton of sense.
  23. Hard to quantify in that way. Certainly, it hampered Daboll's ability to call the game, but there were other factors as well, including sometimes the play of Josh Allen and plenty of drops from key personnel, like Dawson Knox and even John Brown and Cole Beasley. They dropped more than they should have on occasion.
  24. For a moment I thought the Bills were playing the "Veggies." Nice work in any case. It would be fun to bump this thread when the schedule is announced and see how close it comes.
  25. I wouldn't go that far. Creating cap space is not the only reason for cutting a player. Sometimes it is advisable to cut a player whose production does not justify his cap numbers, particularly if cutting him doesn't have big dead cap implications. I think Lotulelei stays at least one more year so the dead cap implications become more manageable.
