  1. I think Funchess is more athletic than Kelvin Benjamin, but I'm not a huge fan of signing him.
  2. I think the Bills want to be better at right tackle than they were last year, but they will play things by ear. First, they have to decide if they want to re-sign LaAdrian Waddle, who spent his one year contract with the Bills on IR. He's younger than Nsekhe, and potentially as good. Nsekhe had a 2 year deal, and he was effective in pass blocking. Not so much at run blocking. I think the contract was structured in such a way as to give the Bills an easy out if they want it. Beane will also take a look at what other free agents are out there, and what they will cost. In the draft, I think they will pick up an offensive lineman but it could be inside or outside, or a guy with some position versatility, but what and when is going to be dependent to a degree on how the draft falls. Don't expect a guy in the third round or later to come in and be an upgrade to Ford. Lastly, I do expect that Ford will take a step forward. He will try to spend the off season getting quicker and stronger. In short, there will be changes, but they may be in the form of minor tweakings rather than a splash free agent or draft pick.
  3. On one hand I think the timing would stink as New England seems to be at or close to the end of their dynasty reign, with Buffalo looking like the possible heir apparent. On the other hand, home games for the Jags in London are not going to be at an hour that I will want to watch in all likelihood.
  4. Actually, I made a mistake. I meant to say the Bengals. Haslem has proven he's a terrible owner though.
  5. Jim Rome's schtick was always smack. Since I'm not a fan of smack AT ALL, I don't have much use for Jim Rome
  6. K'Lavon Chaisson - Edge/Linebacker LSU A Star in the making https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2020-nfl-draft-klavon-chaisson-is-a-star-in-the-making/
  7. Exactly. Drafting Burrow requires a trade by Miami with Cincinnati, and that trade requires willingness on the part of Cincinnati. The owner of the Browns has a mind of his own.
  8. The whole league, I understand, is owned, more or less, by Vince McMahon of the WWE. He's into entertainment. He knows he's not going to beat the NFL in terms of TV contracts and money. He thinks there is room for a niche player if he can find the right formula. That would involve controlling costs (player contracts), a season that is not competing head to head with the NFL (or college), and trying some innovations to speed up the game and make it more fun to watch. Players will be drawn from NFL has beens trying to extend their careers, players who just can't make it in the NFL, and perhaps players who aren't ready for the NFL yet, but could develop.
  9. I don't know. Can he play after knee replacement surgery?
  10. My prediction is that Tom Brady has already played in his last Super Bowl as a QB.
  11. Now, let me get this straight. Adam Gase wants to get rid of Rick Dennison because he thinks Dennison is incompetent?
  12. It would not be out of the question for at least 3 receivers to be gone already by the time the Bills pick (Jeudy, Lamb, and Ruggs). Unfortunately, the top three edge rushers could also be gone (Young, Epenesa, and Gross-Mattos). I didn't even mention the top three offensive tackles, who will also be gone. The point is, the fourth best WR might be a very reasonable value at that point in the draft. I think Shenault's versatility may have held back his development as a route runner. The question Buffalo's talent evaluators will need to try and answer is whether or not Shenault has the capacity to develop into a polished route runner with a full route tree.
  13. You do know that at least for every free agent perceived as significant, somebody's going to start a brand new thread, don't you?
  14. I think he loses his special PS exemption going forward. He does not have enough of a history to suggest the Bills have any serious plans to keep him on the roster in 2020. I do think he's likely to be on the training camp roster. If he lights it up in preseason, who knows what the Bills might do?
  15. Hmmm, 100 to 7 against so far. I think the Stadium Wall is pretty well stacked against you on this one, Conlan. For myself, I like the depth at WR in the draft, and the fact that there are SO MANY good receivers with size.
  16. There is going to be an influx of young QBs in the draft coming into the league, including 3 or more who will be drafted in the first round. The teams that draft them are going to let somebody go. That will change the mix of what is available. From the Bills perspective, I think most would say Barkley's underwhelming performance in relief of Josh Allen this past season makes his continued presence very much a question mark. That's about all we do know, however. Davis Webb has a decent combination of size and skill set, but he done nothing in the league. What we don't know about is what he's done in practice as a Bills PS player. That could have a bearing on whether or not Beane has any thought that he could be a legit backup to Allen. In Allen's third year, Beane and McDermott might think they could take a chance on using a younger backup instead of a grizzled veteran. In any case, I think there are a number of directions they could conceivably go depending on what they are thinking, and we don't know what they are thinking.
  17. I don't expect it.. If Buffalo lands an outstanding WR, edge rusher and offensive tackle in free agency, then maybe, but I'mnot expecting it.
  18. I'm one of those who thinks a trade up for a WR would be foolish, given the depth of this draft at WR. I would be a little surprised at the Drafttek projection happening (doubling up at WR, but a lot of that will depend on what the Bills do in free agency.
  19. I don't mind her. She gives evidence of being an outside hire, rather than a long term follower of the Bills, but she makes an effort to do her homework.
  20. Go Doug! Nice interview.
  21. My wife is now a 10 year survivor of stage 2 breast cancer. I'm coming up on 3 years surviving stage 2 lung cancer, with no sign remaining of cancer in my body. As has been stated, early diagnosis is crucial. I was lucky. I'm a non -smoker, so nobody would have ever thought to look for lung cancer, and my symptoms were insignificant. They discovered it in CT scans I had for something else. My wife discovered hers in a self examination after a mamogram had missed it 2 months earlier. There are some cancers that are far less curable even with early diagnosis. Unfortunately glioblastoma is one of those. Liver and pancreatic cancers are a couple others, but even in those cancers, progress is being made, and there are some long term survivors.
  22. Assuming there is a fire where all this smoke is being generated, the Saints are taking a significant risk, but if they are projecting Hill as their future starter, signing him to an appropriate contract as a restricted free agent shouldn't be much of an issue. The only question is to what extent will they try to hedge their bet. If Brees plays one more season, will the Saints carry a third QB on the roster, one who might have some starting potential if Hill disappoints? I assume that even if Brees sticks around, the Saints will look for circumstances where they can insert Taysom Hill to pla a more conventional QB and do some actual passing, I assume Bridgewater is going to look for greener pastures elsewhere if he is a free agent.
  23. Take it easy on ALLEN1QB. When Buffalo signs Thunney, let him go on thinking Beane fleeced Bellicick in a trade. Thunney for ann undisclosed future UDFA.
  24. Glioblastoma is the most common form of brain cancer, and it has an very poor 5 year survival rate. Two years is pretty typical. Prayers for his family.
