You could make predictions for the National Enquirer's annual psychic predictions issue. That was uncanny.

Awesome! Denver now only two ahead of Buffalo in the wild card race. Denver plays San Diego next week. Go San Diego.

I wouldn't necessarily eliminate Clarett as a possible draft choice if he drops to the mid rounds. He's not a fe,lon. There's no evidence he's done drugs etc. There is a major attitude concern, that I would figure in my valuation of him as a player. If there are two RBs, or any two players who are rated equally and Clarett is one of them, I probably take the guy without the baggage. He's got to represent superior value in terms of physical talent and football skills relative to where I'm picking before I'd pick him.

OT-Martha Stewart stuffs her Cups
TigerJ replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously, Martha Stewart can apparently cook, so why doesn't the prison set up some culinary workshops for other inmates so she can impart her skills? Martha gets her wish to be able to prepare some better quality dishes and some of her fellow cellmates learn a marketable skill, and maybe keep out of trouble when they get out. Everybody's happy and it doesn't cost the taxpayer more than the cost of some brown sugar. -
JP Losman is now completely healthy
TigerJ replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills are winning they won't and shouldn't yank Bledsoe. Losman still needs reps in practice to raise his comfort level with the offence to the point where he won't be a huge liability. I wouldn't mind Losman coming in at garbage time with a list 6-8 plays that he's reasonably comfortable with. Once Buffalo is officiall out of the playoff hunt, and Losman is fairly comfortable with the offence, then I wouldn't mind Buffalo playing him more so they can better evaluate his ability to be a starter in this league. -
Well, none of them are raving beauties, but I agree, I'd date almost any of them before I would Willis, except maybe #3. But then I'm an old guy and I don't do that stuff anymore.

I have only been to Oahu. I would like to go back and do the Big Island, Maui, and Kauai. I think your choice probably depends on what you want to do and when you want to go. I agree that Waikiki is very touristy. There are a few fun things to do even if they are touristy though. Shopping at the International Marketplace was fun, for instance. If you like the touristy stuff, the Polynesian Cultural Center gives you a nice overview of all of Polynesia. Here is a hint. In the winter months the north side of the islands have rough surf while the southern side is smooth as glass. In the summer it's reversed although it's generally very tame even on the south shore in summer. If you're on Oahu in the winter, that means you are not going to want to plan on swimming on the north shore. That's where they have those big wave surfing competitions and the waves get as high as houses. Winter is also the rainy season in Hawaii. That won't bother you much on the southern shores of the islands which are protected from the rain bearing northeasterly winds, but you might have to plan your activities in certain areas based on the weather. Hilo, for instance, is a pretty rainy place, but in the winter months it rains most of the time. It sounds like you'll be there long enough to do pretty much whatever you want. I guess the general advice, I would give is not to pack too much into the time you have. Take it easy and make sure you have time to enjoy each other's company.

If They Held a Toughman Competition on the Bills
TigerJ replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd agree with the choice of Krumrie. If we were limited to players, Pat Williams is the man. -
I'm going to Thanksgiving dinner II. Today it was at my mom's. tomorrow we go to my sister-in-law's house down near Pittsburgh. That will be my quota of turkey for the year.

Its OBVIOUS Indy is going to get Peyton
TigerJ replied to Buffan00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I were an Indianapolis fan, I wouldn't worry about whether they were deliberately going after the record for Manning or not, as long as they're winning games. As a Buffalo fan, I'm not that into it, but I have to admire his talent anyway. Whether or not the record attempt is deliberate, he couldn't do it if he were most QBs in the league. They simply aren't good enough., and their teams aren't built for that kind of passing attack. So more power to him. -
Were our players throwing cheap shots?
TigerJ replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Clements hit on Holt was definitely cheap in and of itself, but then I heard the stuff about Holt's blocks on Clements and I have to admit if I were in Clements' shoes, I might have done the same thing. Technically, what Clements did was legal. -
Is enyone else Jones-ing for the Simoncast!

I think Empire is running on a shoestring right now, biding its time until Adelphia dumps it entirely or Adelphia sells its western NY cable operations to someone willing to commit some support to it. -
Light snow. Supposed to be breezy later with some blowing snow. The driving shouldn't be too bad for the trip to Mom's house because the ground is warm enough to keep the snow melted off the roadway.

Was ricky williams released by the fish today?
TigerJ replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mostly what Miami wants out of Ricky Williams is ill gotten bonus money. As of this afternoon, my understanding is that RW still had not signed on with the reinstatement/suspension deal his agent and lawyer are trying to finagle on his behalf. He's busy studying wholistic medicine and smoking pot to be bothered with the NFL. Leigh Steinberg and RW's lawyer are trying to drag their cash cow back from the pasture where he sent himself because they can't make any money off ofpot or wholistic medicine. So far RW hasn' signed on to any of this. -
(OT) Anyone else Jonesing For... A BEER !
TigerJ replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's funny, I'm a Jones, and I never go Jonesing for a beer. -
The women of TSW would make for more pleasant conversation. I know I'm not controversial enough to get picked in a question like this.

This really wasn't a bad season IMO
TigerJ replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are two big negatives to this season IMHO: First, Buffalo lost a couple early games they should have won, putting the playoffs out of reach for all practical purposes. Second, the circumstances at QB leave me (and most everyone else) feeling up in the air. Most of us don't feel Drew Bledsoe is any kind of long term solution at QB, but we're not sure what we have in JP Losman besides a good athlete with a strong arm. Are the Bills going to try and squeeze one more season out of Drew? IMO (and most of ours) that would only be delaying the inevitable, and likely to produce more disappointments next season. I'd rather go into the offseason with more of a feel for what Losman can do than we've got so far. -
I can't help you. In my profession I try to keep marriages together, though if her husband is running around, I can appreciate and accept the decision to end it. I hope she can find someone. When the separation/divource happens you might suggest to her that she look for a support group of persons in similar circumstances. It's a tough period of time she's llikely to have to go though and any help she can get can only make it easier to take.

Actually, by my figuring on NFL.com, Buffalo's offence is ranked 29th. I think tenth might be high, but Buffalo may be betther than their 4-6 record might suggest since they lost their first four games against fairly tough opponents while they were still just learning the Mularkey - Clements offence. I think rating them by their 4-2 record since then is a better indication of their level of play right now than their overall record. Plus, if you think about it, if Buffalo had a first round draft pick and the draft were held today, the Bills record would have them picking 14th at least according to one web site (Great Blue North Draft Report.com) http://www.gbnreport.com/weeklydraftorder.htm It's not all that much of a jump from 14th to 10th.

Do your job. Make sure you communicate everything even more clearly than you think you need to. Document everything. If you've got someone sniping at you from the bushes, it's all about keeping your butt covered. Some more advice: Pick your battles. Make sure if you're going to have to fight for something (ie. a particular change) it's worth fighting for. Listen to people as much as possible. Even if you end up deciding to do what you intended all along, it may help the atmosphere if you at least listened to opposing points of view.

I really have not gotten into the wholeboard brawl on Drew Bledsoe. He can certainly still do some good things on the field. Long term, the problem I have is despite the win Buffalo had at the beginning of the 2003 season, Bledsoe seems to have a mental block when it comes to playing the Patriots. That's only one team, but they are in Buffalo's division. I know that's only two games, but if Buffalo and Drew Bledoe can't beat the Patriots, the Patriots are going to continue to stand between Buffalo and the playoffs. I'm not willing to accept that. I have no ploblem with Bledsoe starting the rest of the season if JP is not ready to play, but I hope Buffalo doesn't simply name Bledsoe starter in training camp without giving Losman a legitimate shot at supplanting him. JP is the future until or unless he proves he can't handle it.
-
I don't pretend to know what the Bills should do. I thought it was right to play Bledsoe today. JP just isn't ready yet. I think Bledsoe should start next game. I would not necessarily start JP after Drew's next loss, but I might depending on when that occurs and other circumstances.

What did Martz say after the game?
TigerJ replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoops. That was me, agreeing on the Clements cheap shot. Don't know why my computer didn't log me in automatically. -
Hmm, besides me you mean. Hard to say. There are a number of good ones.
