  1. I think it may actually be a bit more likely for Drew to end up in Dallas than TH. The odds are neither will, but we can still sing - er hope.
  2. Vincent will more likely end up as an NFL owner than a coach.
  3. And as we know, animals never hurt each other. Yeah right. I have a dog and cat that I hope will hurt lots of moles. I wish PETA would start putting their money where their mouth is and start living on compressed algea tablets. I think doing that for a while might cure some of them, or kill them off, which might be just as good in the long run.
  4. Losman has had enough exposure now to the the Bills system and some good position coaching in Sam Wyche that I would think he'll be at least where Manning was at the start of the 2004 season, if not a bit further along. Plus, Buffalo is a better team than the Giants.. I think the Bills would take a step backward starting Losman in 2005, but it would not be a huge step. Depending how he develops once he actually is starting, the Bills could have another strong finish, and might make the playoffs.
  5. The Hummer gets my vote. Part of that is its ugly box approach to vehicle design. Part of it is also my natural bias. I don't mind SUVs per se if you can justify having one (for off road, towing, have to drive in terrible weather) but it seems to me that the Hummer is all about an in your face anti-conservation attitude that I just don't like.
  6. I didn't hear Simpson live, but in the sound bite I thought she was comparable to Rosanne Barr singing the national anthem. The country western dude was horrid. I caught him l;ive, or should I say "dead." I'm not a great country wesstern fan, but I can tell the difference between something that has a little life and something that is just plain lame. He was lame. Clarkson's biggest problem was a horrid PA system and a sucky backup band. You could tell she was nervous too. At least she could somewhat keep in key.
  7. What, Oklahoma never ran up the score? It's what they do in college football. If USC beats Oklahoma in a close game then someone is going to argue that Auburn is the real #1, just like some argued USC was #1 last season. By winning by such a huge margin, USC pretty much put that to rest. For the record, Oklahoma beat Houston by a score of 63 -3 last September. In the Big 12 championship game they beat Kansas by 42-3. I don't know if I like Pete Carroll or not, but if I've got a college football team I want him as my head coach.
  8. I'm underwhelmed!
  9. I'd strongly consider it, especially if the Bills plan on going with Drew one more time in 2005.
  10. ". . . was a great return specialist." Is he dead? Any reports you may have heard of his demise (as a cornerback) are premature. He will be fine. BTW, he was not a rookie this season. He was a second year player. Some of the quicker receivers schooled him (Antwan Randle El) but he has enough natural ability he'll get better. He came out of a small school, so it takes a bit longer.
  11. Yeah, losing the last game is a bummer. However, it's a lot easier to take when you are 9-7 instead of 6-10. I agree Mularkey got the team on the right track. We just need to go further up the line now.
  12. I imagine it would be a real dilemma for someone who is wealthy. For myself, it was a no brainer. I didn't have much and was entering a profession guaranteed not to make me rich. There was no pre-nup. We've been married for 25 years. I think if I were really wealthy, I would forego the pre-nup, but insist on a long period of time to get to know the girl, followed by a long engagement. Presumably a goldigger would be either unwilling or unable to keep up a front for that length of time.
  13. When Buffalo doesn't control their own destiny, we don't have a choice but to hope some gives us the help we need. I'm hoping, but I'm not at all certain. If we win and we don't get in, we at least gave it a great shot considering the hole Buffalo was in at the start of the season. Buffalo is going to be one scary team next year. If teams don't want to play us now, they will be terrified next year - if TD can keep things relatively together in the offseason.
  14. This way he is right, or at least can claim he is no matter what happens. Simple really. He ought to run for office.
  15. Ah success! I cleaned up my temporary internet file, and then my computer saved it as a gif. file.
  16. Thanks, I've got several possibilities now. I did do the "Save as" routine as Rico suggested, but it is only saving as untitled bmp like Rico said.
  17. When I saved the cowbell picture to use as an avatar, my computer automatically saved it as a BMP file which TBD won't accept for use as an avatar. Is there any was to convert BMP to GIF or JPEG, or to copy it as a GIF in the first place?
  18. A fascinating read your friend has provided, VABillsfan. It seems to have a ring of truth (unlike the Geroge Siefert -new Bills coach rumor we heard last year). If Travis Henry is acting the way he's alleged to be acting, the the Bills will and should auction him off to the highest bidder. If not, then I agree he's worth more as a backup RB than as trade bait for a fifth round pick.
  19. They also have a very high opinion of their team. One guy thought they had the third best team in the NFL. That should change shortly.
  20. The comment about winning the NFC West was cool.
  21. I can't argue with most of that. I do wonder about Jonathon Ogden, Baltimore's left tackle. Yes, he's supposed to be one of the best in the game, but Aaron Schobel had one of his best games of the season against him. I wonder if he has some nagging injury that limits his mobility. Maybe at 30 he's starting to slow down a bit. At 6'9" he might be an an increasing disadvantage against smaller, quicker DEs like Freeney. While the Bills would certainly have to respect Freeney's speed in the pass rush, I don't necessarily buy that Bledsoe and Jonas Jennings are going to fare a lot worse than Jonathon Ogden and Kyle Boller.
  22. I don't Lee has any chance of beating out Big Ben.When a WR performs well he's just one of 11 guys. When a QB performs well, he's the center of attention. In another universe w/o Ben R., Lee Evans would have a shot. It's his misfortune to have come into the league in the same year as Big Ben. BTW, Big Ben has benefitted tremendously by being with a team like Pittsburgh that has great personnel all around him. He doesn't have to throw a lot of passes, and when he does, he usually has very good protection. The offence doesn't need to score a lot of points for the team to win. If there ever was a perfect situation for a rookie QB to come in and succeed Pittsburgh was it this season.
  23. I notice when I save the Cowbell avatar to my computer, it gets saved as a bmp file that TBD does not accept. My computer gives me no options. Unless I figure out a way around it, I'm not going to be able to join the cowbell gang.
  24. If Buffalo can't beat Pittsburgh with Roethlisberger, Bettis, and Staley out of the lineup, then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
