  1. I think if anything Steeler fans should be grateful that Cowher and the Steelers went as far as they did with a rookie QB. That was an incredible run. However, yesterday the Patriots exposed him for a rookie. Of all years, this is one year I would not be calling for Cowher's head. If the steelers can keep the team largely intact, Roethlisberger's going to be light years ahead next year compared to his understanding of the game this year.
  2. Reid's comment represents a reasonable hope rather than an iron clad promise. I hope he'll be ready to, and I think he probably will play, but I don't think it can be absolutely known yet.
  3. I have a very specific question, but first a bit of background. We have an annual Super Bowl Party at our church. One tradition is that we have at least one food item that represents each Super Bowl team. New England is pretty easy. Since lobster for everyone is out of our budget range, it's probably going to be New England clam chowder. Here's the question. Does anyone know of any snack or food that Philadelphia would be known for that would not be terribly expensive? Pilly steak and cheese is probably out of the question. If you've got a recipe, that would be an added bonus (for me).
  4. She had an impressive set of pipes. Adults have to be a little careful letting kids sing like that before their voices have matured. It's possible for a youngster to do permanent damage by misusing or overusing a voice that hasn't matured not unlike little league pitchers who damage their arms. I'm saying this as a college trained vocalist and former student of vocal pedagogy (the science of teaching voice).
  5. Aiken has shown flashes, but not enough to know what he really has to offer. Bradford is probably more of a known quantity even though he's not currently on the Bills.
  6. I love Alphonzo Hodge at cornerback. Actually, while he has plenty of speed for a corner, he has ample size for safety. You could plug him in at either and he would succeed.
  7. Haven't seen "Solid Peer" in two days now. It disappeared after I ran Hijack this. Thanks for all the suggestions. BTW, I think I have had CoolWebSearch in the past, but in the course of running a number of different anti-spyware programs, it is gone.
  8. I think the fumbles were a legitimate issue in 2003, not nearly so much so in 2004. Most of the fan analysis on that website looked pretty shallow, but then most of us probably dont have an in depth grasp of a lot of the NFC players who are not the major stars. I know I don't at least.
  9. Maybe 8 inches. Still snowing. Might be some lake effect now. The winds have switched over to the "lake effect direction" (anything from westerly to north northwesterly).
  10. Cleveland Browns prior to 1969, the year Buffalo drafted OJ.
  11. Although Denver has struggled inrecent years with suspect quarterbacking (remind you of the Bills?), I suspect this is a good choice. Denver has always had a good offensive system. They've won the Super Bowl with it. Hopefully he can lead Syracuse out of the dark ages with respect to offence.
  12. Too late tonight. gotta get to bed. I already have AdAware and Spybot, along with Hijack This, Spyware Blaster, and CW Shredder. I'll go through the rest of the steps you suggest tomorrow, though running Hijack This really seems to have cleared out the Solid Peer program.
  13. Assuming Tater was pulling our collective legs with his claim of 93, I'm fourth oldest so far at 52
  14. I ran Hijack This and haven't seen "Solid Peer" rear its ugly head once. Thanks. I reinstalled a popup blocker to catch the run of the mill popups. The ironic thing is that a good percentage of the ads from Solid Peer were for anti spyware programs and registry cleaners. Yeah, like I'm going to buy from the enemy, right.
  15. Thanks, everyone. I did go to the control panel and Morpheus (remove only) was there, but I could not delete that for some reason. I already have Hijack this. I hadn't used it, because it also removes my popup blocker. It's hard to identify the programs you don't want to remove. But I did it because you recommended it. I'll just have to reinstall the stuff I want.
  16. Yup, Morpheus is there. I'll go ahead and delete and see what happens.
  17. I didn't. Maybe one of my kids did. I'll have to check. Is that where it's hiding out?
  18. Yeah, when I first heard of him, I thought of that. I decided not to go for the cheap laugh, but now that the ice has been broken. . . With a name like that he's doomed to labor his entire career in anonymity. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
  19. I have recurring popups with the heading of "Solid Peer" on the blue strip. I have run Norton anti-virus, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware and other anti-spyware software and have been unable to root it out. I know it's spyware because often times the popup is in the same general category as the website I'm viewing. I do have a popup blocker running all the time. Any suggestions?
  20. For the record, I don't expect a blockbuster free agent signing. I expect some good players/role players in the Chris Villarreal mold.
  21. Wright took one comment that Adams made back in the middle of the season and extrapolated that into a reason for his pick. Since then Adams had a pro bowl type season and from all appearances was very happy. Pat Williams is older and the free agent, though I suspect he will re-sign. I don't think Buffalo will take a DT, but if they do there are a couple others they would take before they grab someone who is undersized, slow, and lazy.
  22. Besides Nugent, a kicker, there are a couple offensive linemen and tight ends in that general range.
  23. Linehan had two things in Minnesota that he won't have in Miami, at least in the immediate future. He had a WR who is a freak of nature even though he's an attitude problem waiting to happen. Randy Moss at 6'4" is arguably the fastest WR in the league. Meanwhile, there is no QB in the league who combines size, strength, and running ability like Culpepper. Chris Chambers is pretty good, but he's not in the same league as Moss. And Feeley sure isn't a Daunte Culpepper. Linehan may be a good coordinator, but It'll take him a while to build an offence out of the shambles that are left on the Dolphins now.
  24. Fred Jones might indeed be feasible if what I'm hearing is true.
  25. Oddly enough, we have a cat that never chased her tail. She is pushing 6 years old now.
