  1. He runs like a defensive end. If he can add 20 lbs and stay under 5 flat in the forty he would have the tools to be an absolutely dominating left tackle.
  2. Not as things stand now. Things have to change drastically, and I don't expect it, for him to do so.
  3. Your post got me to thinking, how did Reed, Vinitieri and Feeley enter the league. I did some checking. Reed was an undrafted rookie free agent signing for Pittsburgh. Vinatieri was an undrafted rookie free agent signing by the Patriots. Jay Feely was a free agent signing by the Falcons after he had been out of college for three years. I have nothing against Nugent. The point I would make is that many top notch kickers in the NFL have a much more humble start than that of the Raiders' Janikowski. I expect that Nugent will probably be a great NFL kicker. However, an NFL team that does its homework can very likely get a very good, even a great kicker without paying nearly so high a price. Teams don't find a lot of undrafted players who make a big impact on the offensive line (the Patriots being a notable exception). It's rare to find an undrafted defensive end who is destined for greatness. But, teams find undrafted kickers all the time. Lets look at the flip side. Do drafted kickers ever flop? Who was the last kicker drafted fairly high by the Buffalo Bills? I think it was Gary Anderson. We all know he had a great career in Pittsburgh, but Buffalo cut him because he was awful. There remained a lingering suspicion that Anderson deliberately screwed up in Buffalo because he didn't want to be here, but the fact remains that drafting a kicker is not a guarantee you're going to get a great one. Given that to draft a kicker in round 2 would cost the Bills a chance to draft a player who could have a significant impact, ( I think the Bills can indeed get a starter in round 2), and the fact that most good kickers in the pros are undrafted, I would rather the Bills look elsewhere early in the draft. If they want to draft Joe Rheem, a very good kicker out of Kansas, in round 7 I'd have no problem with that.
  4. What happened to Houck? San Diego's line has nowhere to go but down with Mauck at the helm.
  5. But I bet they have great special teams. Uh, I take that back.
  6. Yup, he will go in round 2. There are some other college kickers with good legs though. Check out Joe Rheem. He could be had for a seventh rounder.
  7. If I had to make the pick and keep the player, Braylon Edwards. I'd much rather trade down though.
  8. Chautauqua Lake Central School is having a 2 week spring break in mid April. There is no week in February and not easter vacation at all (one day for good Friday). This is mostly a concession to teachers who wanted two weeks at once and wanted it late enough to have a chance for decent weather. As a church pastor, I'm actually pretty happy with the fact that there is no Easter vacation. It means more families will be home for Easter services.
  9. I honestly don't think the Bills would take him if he were available. That's just me though. I love looking at draft possibilities. I don't tend to get fixated on one player though. There are just too many variables, and I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you focus on one player to the exclusion of all others.
  10. I'll go with OT on the assumption that Jennings bolts. To be honest, I'm not all that impressed with the safeties that are rated to be drafted in the second half of the second round. They are: Donte Nicholson - Strong safety from Oklahoma. He would be OK. Good athlete, not great in coverage. Josh Bullocks - FS from Nebraska. a little light and not very fast Brodney Pool - FS from Oklahoma Probably the best of this group with good size and decent speed. Run support isn't great. There is a fair chance he'll be gone by the time the Bills draft.
  11. Can't think of his first name but the famous heavyweight boxer whose last name is Sullivan was buried where I lived in Belfast, NY. I was in that cemetary on occasion walking the dog. I also happened to have a distant relative buried in the same cemetary.
  12. LoTR is better literature by a long shot. Star Wars was written for the purpose of being made into a movie. Star Wars is much easier and more fun to watch as cinema though. To put it in a nutshell: LoTR is better reading, Star Wars is better to watch.
  13. I don't punch a time clock. I'm salaried. I might work 35 hours one week and 60 the next. I normally take an hour for lunch, but I also work several evenings and some weeks I don't get a day off.
  14. Aiken is still mainly a guy with some potential. He'll get a chance to compete and move up the depth chart, but he hasn't done enough for the team to just assume he can do anything beyond the little he's done.
  15. I agree if all you're asking is reimbursement for vet bills. I'm pretty sure that's all you could ask for in small claims court. I guess the point of trying to get more is to force the apartment owner to take action. A few hundred dollars might not do it, especially if he's got insurance to cover it. If you could get say $10,000, no way does he let this deadbeat ex-football player hang around. It sounds like getting money out of the deadbeat is going to be like getting blood from a turnip, even if he says he'll pay. Besides, he's still there with his unchained German Shepherd. It will happen again with either the same dog or another one.
  16. Besides this forum I'm active at a couple other bills fan sites and semiactive at the the official Bills web site fan forum. I also occasionally visit finheaven just to see what the enemy is thinking. I visit a couple sites dedicated to the Wheel of Time fantasy series by Robert Jordan. Not currently active, but have been active at times at Beliefnet.com, a forum for the exchange of religious ideas.
  17. One more thing. I would look into whether there are any weapons I could leagally carry with me, and let the owner of the German Shepherd that I have whatever might be allowed, that I would carry it when I walk my dog, and I would not hesitate to kill or severely injure his dog to defend mine.
  18. If you want to, you might give the guy a deadline to pay your vet bill. In the meantime, I'd head straight to a lawyer who will give a free consultation. The only thing I wonder about a lawsuit is how courts look a pain and suffering of pets. No lawyer is going to bother with a few hundred dollars for a vet bill. The question is whether courts would award the kind of big bucks that would interest an attorney for pain and suffering for you as a pet owner orfor your pet. I don't know much about law in general, and about the status of pets in a court of law I know absolutely nithing.
  19. Barnes is an intriguing player. He's a little bit light at the moment, but extremely quick on his feet and a great 40 time. If he's got the frame to add 20 lbs. he might be a great prospect.
  20. Nice to have an on site eyewitness.
  21. Maybe a third this year and a second next.
  22. Joe Rheems. Good kicker - good value as a late round pick.
  23. Thanks guys. That gives me something to work on. Ice cream - We have a member who is a personnel manager at a near by ice cream plant. He can get us some free. The snapper soups sounds interesting (though we'd have to make it with beef.) We'd never find turtle meat. Soft pretzels are a great snack food.
  24. Interesting. The other day I felt the odds of Bledsoe returning were about 60/40. In light of these developments, I think I'd reverse that, maybe 40/60 and maybe lower than that.
  25. Just think, in a few years we'll be able to watch Dean Cain tell the story on Ripley's Believe It Or Not.
