  1. I'm to the point where I think the league should reorganize, start from square one, write a fair revenue sharing plan and a salary cap into the league constitution and start hiring players. They would have to drop ticket prices because they would have mostly young players and no stars, but they could rebuild the league and in 5-10 years have a decent product. Screw the union on this one. Let 'em play in Europe.
  2. Tell them, "I'm just dying to see where it is."
  3. Well, the KFFL website does say they need writers. This proves they're right I guess.
  4. Here you go. Just click on the name. Click on "more" to get the full list of offensive or defensive players in their database. They are missing only a few of the pictures of players they have listed. http://www.nflfans.com/draft/staticpages/i...040421233639201
  5. It sure would feel wierd having a warm feeling on my calf like that.
  6. The worst these two bowls of pond scum can get is 30 years to life. Presumably they can eventually qualify for probation, but as has been stated, prison justice may take care of them before that day ever comes. While human beings are capable of amazing acts of cruelty, I don't see that as disproving God. Human beings are also capable of incredible acts of selfless giving. I might not be in exactly the same place as Kurt Godel theologically, but I've never found science to be the enemy of my faith. I agree with stevestojan that only one religion can be right though.
  7. Since I can't go to most home games anyway, I personally would not be greatly affected, but the possible implications of this are disturbing. What is Tagliabooboo really thinking?
  8. Did he even start at Penn State? He is going to NFL Europe as per the press release, but still - camp fodder.
  9. Now there are non-stimulant alternatives to treat ADD and ADHD. Back when our son was in second grade and testing as if he hadn't learned a thing since he had started first grade, there weren't many alternatives. He took it for about 9 years. When he came from school he took a small dose mostly to allow it to ddisappear from his system more gradually. In the evening when he did homework in elementary school I had to stand behind him to keep him on task. I would literally point at the next math problem on the page and say, "OK now we need to do this one." Without it he would have dropped out of school and ended up in jail or dead of suicide. When he told us he wanted to quit it he still had a couple years of school left, but we thought maybe he could handle it. He will never be the student his younger sister is, but ritalin was a Godsend for him.
  10. Saw that on another message board. The guy ought to be declared "unclean" like they did with leppers 2000 years ago, and not let anywhere near a baby.
  11. Brady is still playing QB. He is certainly a number of years away from running for a high office like senator. Just because he's not qualified right now doesn't mean that in ten years he won't be a lot more qualified. I would also want to know what his college major was. Basket weaving? then no, I wouldn't want him in politics. Economics? Political science? Government? Well then he just might have a foundation on which to build. To judge his qualifications and abilities now is just WAY too premature.
  12. Um, I think Queens is east of Manhattan. I'll have to ask my brother in law his opinion. He not only lives in NYC, he is the deputy budget director for the city. He usually has a pretty educated opinion about such things.
  13. I was a substitute clerk/carrier for two summers in 1977 and 1978. Absolutely loved it! Once I learned how to case the mail, it was really simple, yet endlessly interesting. The main downside to a carrier job is bad weather, which I didn't have to deal with much working in the summer.
  14. Funny, I listened to the speech and heard nothing about scrapping employer based health insurance. Besides I don't thinkthe government can scrap it since it isn't a government program in the first place.
  15. I ate at the Big Elms once. I don't remember much about it. It was a long time ago so I can't answer your question. I can kind of picture the outside though. My mother was born in North Hornell. My best friend from college, and my former fiance (we parted on congenial terms) whom he married, still llive there.
  16. When we camped out in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons we were told grizzlies can smell food over two miles away. At the campgrounds they have bear proof dumpsters for garbage. They tell you to put food, dish detergent etc. in your vehicle. Never, but NEVER, eat, or store anythiong related to eating or cooking in a tent, trailor, or camper. Now, if you are rafting or backpacking so that you will be sleeping overnight in an area where bear proof dumpsters aren't available and you can't store food in your car, you have to plan on having plenty of rope to tie containers of food, garbage etc. from a tree, well away from where you sleep. Toss one end of the rope over a tree branch that allows you to hoist your stuff a good 12 feet off the ground in grizzlie country, and well away from the tree trunk.
  17. I tried to learn to drink beer a little bit in college. I don't think I ever tried a light beer. It all tasted like bilgewater to me. Course I can't stand coffee either, decaffeinated or regular.
  18. I pretty much agree with you, except that I think part of Hubbards's motivation in turning his psychobabble quackery into a religion was to get government regulaters of medical practice off their backs. If it is religion, Hubbard would have argued, the government has no right to interfere under the constitution. In his ignorant endorsement of Scientology, Masiello, in addition to demonstrating his utter stupidity, came dangerously close to violating the constitutional edict against the government sponsoring religion. I really wonder why there weren't all kinds of people up in arms and calling for Masiello's head over that incident.
  19. I once spent a few hours in Montana (West Yellowstone).
  20. I have lived in the southern tier for 44 of my 52 years. The exceptions were 5 years in Indian Falls, near Six Flags Darien Lake, and three years going to seminary in central Kentucky. Southern Tier communities in which I've lived are Mayville (present, Mayville, Belfast, and Salamanca (born and raised).
  21. The really funny thing is, I can post a question of computer adware and get a whole bunch of serious and helpful responses. Mead posts a medical question and we razz him to pieces with joking posts. I think that says something. I'm just not sure what.
  22. We've got Adelphia now. Church pays the cable bill for us, but we pay for the high speed internet. I'm no great fan of Adelphia but I just wonder what we'll be getting. Jamestown at the other end of Chautauqua Lake has TW. I know they have more channels. It's all too expensive.
  23. We have a barker. He sees anything outside and he's gotta bark. We bring him back in as soon as he starts to bark though.
  24. I have that site bookmarked and use it a lot. It has a wide variety of info all year and a good selection of football links.
  25. I think Nick was either drunk or overly tired when he started this thread. I think he got Mike Williams, our right tackle and Pat Williams, our defensive tackle mixed up. This draft is interesting in that there areno accute needs for the Bills, no positions for which they don't have at least and adequate starter. However, as Nick correctly points out, there is a felt need to upgrade across the board, with the possible exception of punter.
