  1. Well, short of "global nuclear holocaust," I would be devastated by hearing "Bills leave Buffalo." I would be utterly deflated by hearing any number of names attached to the single word "returns." Candidates include Rob Johnson, Todd Collins, Gregg Williams, Kevin Gilbride, Carl Mauck and others.
  2. Just scanning through the list of of free agent visits, the only other place where Womack is visiting is Green Bay. An internet search doesn't reveal much. One Jasksonville fan site has a post that states he has played some left tackle (yes, I know he played for Seattle, but Jacksonville is looking at linemen too). Judging from the Seattle website, he's not been a starter to this point in his career, but has been an all purpose backup. He has gotten some decent time in because of injuries and contract holdouts over his 4 year career.
  3. http://www.gbnreport.com/ You'll need to scroll down to find those notes. That's pretty much the way it appears on the website.
  4. Three mil is a budget buster at this point.
  5. My bad, he's only 39 on his next birthday.
  6. Isn't Chris Mohr a fossil by now?
  7. And I was in the bargain basement.
  8. Actually while that may be a big croc for Uganda, there are salt water crocs in northern Australia that are bigger. And in prehistoric times there were much much bigger crocs.
  9. If Buffalo does not get Shelton, there are real questions about who will play left tackle. Or if Williams is moved to the left, who plays right tackle. I'm concerned right now.
  10. Matt JOnes will never be an NFL QB. If you draft him as a TE, you are drafting for potential only. That's not the first time a player has been drafted with the notion of having him switch positions. Some teams have successfully done it, but that there is a risk is undeniable.
  11. I think he's a lot closer to the bottom than the top. That's why it's considered a given that the team gets sold when he goes to the big stadium in the sky. There won't be enough extra cash to pay the death err estate tax without the sale of the team.
  12. For what it's worth my second and fourth fingers are almost identical in length. Just eyeballing my hand I would say my index fing is only about a tenth of an inch shorter than my ring finger. I've never been physically agressive, though I play pretty agressively at things like tennis and ping pong, and I'm a real cut thrat in parlor games. LOL
  13. I think McGahee played heavier than his college weight last year. I wouldn't mind seeing him drop back to where he played in college.
  14. Absolutely agreed. For my money, Mike Williams at 360 lbs doesn't look nearly as fat and out of shape as 306 lb Eagles DT Hollis Thomas.
  15. Lots of people are expecting great things of Jason Peters, and I've seen a number of "start Holcomb" sentiments posted in verious places, so by your own definition they're both doomed to disappoint. If he's healthy, I'll say Euhus. On defense, Tim Anderson.
  16. That may be the plan: Gandy at left guard, Tucker at center, Teague at left tackle (or RT with MW moving to LT), and drafting a tackle fairly high who can reasonably start in a year or so.
  17. Absolutely 100% agreed. I just can't stomach people who turn negative just because they don't get their own way and tell everyone else it's their responsibility to make them happy again. That's what five year olds do. I was never a Bledsoe basher, but now that JP Losman is the Bills QB, I'm going to be an optimist. Besides his mobility, JP gives the Bills upside, something that Drew is long past. Sure he's going to hit some bumps in the road, but he's obviously talented, and he has some great coaches working with him to get him past those bumps.
  18. I was on the thruway when I heard the news. WGR's Mike Shoop and the Bulldog talked with the Bears color man, who happens to be a former NFL lineman. I think he was being frank in what he said. In essence I heard that Gandy is very smart and an excellent technician. He's also pretty athletic. He's played every position on the O-line at various times, but is probably most natural at guard. The drawback in his dareer is that he has had a number of injuries. It's not the same injury over and over again, but a different one each time. Sometimes guys like that have injury problems their whole career. Other guys seem eventually to outgrow it to have extended periods injury free. Let's hope Gandy is the latter. As to why Buffalo is getting players from Chicago: It seems the Chiicago offensive line coach is from the Jim McNally school of offensive line coaching. I don't know if he's a protege exactly, but he teaches the same system and the same techniques. When a Chicago lineman comes to the Bills under McNally, he can almost be plugged right in. It makes for much quicker development of chemistry on the line. IMO, based on what I heard on the radio, this can be an excellent value pickup, if (and it's a big if) Gandy can stay reasonably healthy. He will start, probably at left guard, and he will be an upgrade. Fortunately, with Tucker and Smith, Buffalo has some solid depth now on the interior of the line, pending what the Bills decide to do at center. While Gandy can play left tackle, my guess is that Buffalo has other thoughts (Shelton or a draft choice?). We'll have to wait and see.
  19. Does the winning bidder also get a date with Tawny?
  20. In Africa the primary means of the spread of AIDS has been heterosexual sex and the practice of clinics of reusing hypodermic needles without proper sterilization. They just didn't know any better.
  21. Booy, talk about anti-trust issues.
  22. I wasn't saying Henry was better. I always thought that if his knee was sound, McGahee would be the superior back. I think the Bills also believed that too, and were just waiting until he was healthy to give him a chance to prove it. He did. Why are you trying to make the arguement now? It's time to move on.
  23. He does look a little lilke Jonas. Taller though.
