  1. Anderson was inactive for most games and virtually invisible when he did play. I thinkk he can be a factor, but his invisibility last season would tend to drop him off the radar screens of national observers.
  2. Tory Woodbury = camp fodder
  3. It's a little frustrating from the fan perspective in that Buffalo is listed in only about half the mock drafts out there. It's much harder to get one's off=season football fix because overall there is less news, but in terms of the team, it is a great year not to have a first round pick.
  4. I got a ticket for a headlight being out on my car once. Pretty dull isn't it.
  5. It sure would be nice to hear a real tidbit from inside One Bills Drive
  6. I've got Adelphia, but I don't use my email acount with them at all. I just kept my yahoo account. It's about the same as it's been.
  7. They have been saying for a while that the December quake in releasing stress at one point will shift the stress at other points on the same fault, and any other nearby faults. They have been expecting there would be additional major quakes. in the exact same area where the quake occurred today.
  8. He tried to buy the Sabres with public money. Can't blame a man for trying, I guess.
  9. Willie Totten or Won't he Totten, that is the question?
  10. I've known several people who have it. It is as you know already, an autoimmune disease, Your body mistakenly directs an immune response against its own tissue. With most autoimmune diseases, they are very site specific. If you have arthritis, it attacks joints. If you have MS, it attacks the protective sheath around nerves, the myelin or Schwan cells. Lupus is different in that it can attack almost anything, from skin (a rash) to joints (like arthritis), to internal organs. I know one person who told me it affected her heart. Another had lesions on the brain from lupus. Unlike MS, I don't think it is so inexorably progressive, and it does vary tremendously in severity. Some people live a very normal life with it, as it seems to merely be a nuisance. In others it can be fatal. While there may be other treatments, prednisone is often used to control attacks. Prednisone is a steroid, with all the attendant risks and side effects steroids can have, specifically bloating and damage to internal organs, particularly the liver. The woman who had the brain lesions is the most severely affected one I know personally. It affected her moods, her memory, and she had episodes where it appeared as if she were unconscious even though she was fully aware of what was happening. She could not move or respond in any way. Scary Let's hope you're little one has a mild case, easily controlled with minimal use of prednisone.
  11. He is one of a number of QBs who deserve consideration as a late round pick or undrafted free agent. He's like several others, the QB from Harvard, who was productive but has a so-so arm Hawaii uses the run and shoot, and college run and shoot QBs have had a generally tough time adjusting to the NFL. Chang's Wonderlic score, 26 was OK but not stellar for a QB. He's worth some consideration, but it's no great loss if he goes to another team.
  12. Maybe it just got revised, but David Bass is now at 51, Earnest Shazor is at 61 and Spencer is missing. Incognito is listed where Buffalo picks at 55.
  13. I'm not going to be a lot of help here, but west of the major finger lakes there are some smaller lakes. We always called them the bably fingers when I leved near there. Conesus lake is small and pleasant, and probably less expensive. I like Keuka Lake. I think that's cleaner than Canandaigua which is built up more. There are other lakes further east. Seneca is the largest. I've been to a beautiful camp on Owasco lake, but that was in March, so I couldn't get a good feel for what the lake was like in warm weather. I'm at the north end of Chautaqua Lake now. Great Muskie and walleye fishing. Findley Lake in the extreme western end of NY is a pleasant vacation spot and lots of houses/cottages for rent. It's a sleepy little town, but you're not too far from Chautauqua Institution or the City of Erie, PA if you need to shop or something.
  14. No, it doesn't alarm me. You need to do an apples to apples comparison if you're going to make a point. Specifically, you need to take a look at several other NFL teams, and look at starters who have been with the team since 2001, the year TD started in Buffalo. How many of the starters were drafted by that team in rounds 1 or 2? How many drafted in rounds 3-7? How many were undrafted free agents? And How many were veteran free agents? Are the starters drafted in rounds 3-7 really solid, or are they only stop gap startersuntil the team can acquire someone better. My guess is that you will find relatively few starters on any team drafted 2001 or later in rounds 3-7 are starting. Players drafted by teams at that point are rarely viewed as immediate starters, so unless you get a real pleasant surprise, such a player has almost no chance of starting in his first two years unless there is an injury ahead of him on the depth chart. TD gutted the team because of cap problems in 2001. That means there has been more turnover on this team than on many others in the NFL over the same period. The real measure of what TD has done is in the record. TD gets only a so-so mark based on record, due mainly to the Gregg Williams mistake. But, if there are few 3rd through 7th rounders, maybe it means TD has done a good job signing vet free agents and drafting in the first couple rounds, and there just isn't much room for lat round draft choices to crack the starting lineup. It is a gross over simplification just to ad up the numbers and say TD can't draft late.
  15. nodnarb is right. Call your dentist tomorrow. In the meantime a topcal anesthetic like orajel or Anbesol can get you through the hours.
  16. I went through the Black Hills on the trip home from a vacation in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We didn't see as much as several who've already posted. We saw Mt. Rushmore and an old played out gold mine. We also drove through the Badlands and did the obligatory Wall Drug thing. The Black Hills are also not too far from The Devil's Tower in NE Wyoming. For those who don't know, that is an old core of an extinct volcano that pretty much sticks up right out of the plains. It is made up of huge basalt crystals (columnar) bunched together. It was the site of the climax to the movie, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
  17. If the article in the buffalo News is accurate and the Cardinals have an offer on the table for a straight up trade, and Henry is not holding things up with contract demands, then I think the Bills should pull the trigger.
  18. I liked Scott Young in round 7. Actually I like Wilkerson in round 3 too. My thoughts on the rest of it. McFadden- I would never draft a CB that can't run a 4.5 40 or better. There are too many WRs with better speed than that. Jones-I just don't think he'll be there in round 4. He has enough athleticism that someone will take a chance sooner than that. Clarett-Everything he's done over the past two years, including quitting at the combine indicates he's a serious head case. You don't need your backup running back to be a head case. Steve Fleming - Can you say Mark Campbell? TD has announced that both Campbell and Euhus are going to be ready for the start of training camp. I just don't see him as any kind of upgrade over what Buffalo has.
  19. I would not mind Hawthorne or Castillo. Patterson's lack of size makes me nervous. NE drafted Dan Klecko a few years ago as an undersized DT. They tried him at linebacker. He just doesn't seem to fit anywhere. I'm not convinced that Patterson would hold up in the NFL and he doesn't have as much speed/quickness as Klecko did. BTW, how did you ever get Hathaway out of Hawthorne?
  20. In essence it's an attempt at internet extortion, wringing bucks from anyone who is a big enough sucker to fall for it. I don't really care if these guys eat their rabbits or not. If these guys are willing to eat these animals, then they aren't really pets. People don't eat pets, but lots of people eat rabbit meat. I suppose if people are stupid enough to fall for this, they deserve to be relieved of their money, but I don't really llike to see guys like this make big bucks from these kinjds of activities. Sorry it doesn't really trip my laugh trigger.
  21. Krohns varies in severity from person to person. Hopefully yours is very mild. I'll say a prayer.
  22. There are two that live in our town at the moment. Fortunately both are residents of the county jail.
  23. For some free agents it can turn into a bidding. GMs with a propensity to enter into bidding wars sooner or later run into cap trouble. TD would never get into bidding wars while GM of the Steelers. Why would we expect anything different. He does occasionally find guys who are a real value that no one else wants.
  24. Imagine going fishing with a football helmut and no tackle.
  25. This one has pictures too. Just click on a name. Click on "More" and you'll get a longer list. They don't have pictures of every player listed, but most of those who would be drafted in the first four rounds. http://www.nflfans.com/draft/staticpages/i...040421233639201
