The below ground level design of the Ralph saved some big bucks in construction costs. When it was built, it was done with a lot of bang for the buck.

It was not a stress fracture. He had his foot stepped on as he tried to turn it. Surgery was used to insert a screw in the borken bone to stabilize it as it heals.

If Garrett Wolfe is around in the 2nd
TigerJ replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't dislike McGahee as a player. I just don't see him staying in Buffalo one day longer than the expiration date on his contract. Ireally don't think he would take the drafting of a player in the second round as an insult though. He would be first and foremost depth and relief. McGahee knows he needs to step off the field for a blow now and then. He can obviously see what NE is doing with Dillon and Maroney. -
At this point, I would be inclined to put McCargo on IR. I would be more inclined to sign a free agent than promote Jefferson, who is a fringe player without much upside.

I will agree that the Bills' offense is a work in progress. Most of the rest of your points, I dispute Trooth. I believe JP Losman can be a successfull QB. I think McGahee is a solid RB, though I don't sense any real commitment to the team that will keep him in Buffalo one second longer than the expiration date on his contract. I think the receiving corps can be good. I think they got intimidated by the Bears and dropped a lot of passes that another time they would have caught. I agree the offensive line is not dominating. They need more depth and could still stand a couple upgrades when the Bills have a chance to make them, but time together under McNally will help too. Some of the best lines in the league got that way because they had stability over several years. I also agree that there is room for upgrades on the defensive line. My biggest disagreement is over time frame. I think the Bills could plug enough holes and make enough progress that they will be a real force in the AFC next season and will likely make the playoffs.

Buffalo is fully capable of losing to Detroit, if they don't get their heads on straight and play a game without error, or at least not the comedy of errors they ran for the fans last Sunday.

Yahoo Sports had a blurb in which they said, "McCargo, was just starting to play himself into the rotation after signing late in preseason." Boy, they're really on the ball, aren't they. Sure wouldn't want the facts to get in the way of a good story.

Do you think Jp still considered a top 20 Qb?
TigerJ replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's still a kid. I wouldn't even begin to worry about comparing him too much with the rest of the league until he gets a full season under his belt. -
They didn't look like much, but I thought the false start by Jason Peters, followed by the dropped pass by Peerless Price began a self destruct by the Bills which let Chicago gain the momentum that they never let go. That happened on the first drive of the game.

I think the New England game might be winnable, but I'm not counting on the Jags and Chargers. The fact that Buffalo is at home to both of them might let them squeeze out a win against one of them. In all, I would be pleasantly surprised if Buffalo can eak out a 9-7 record. Watch out for the '07 Bills though. If they can keep from losing too many free agents and build their lines next year, I think they can do some serious damage.

One can never be sure, but that seems pretty reasonable to me. Losman was playing well until his teammates started dropping balls on him, committing stupid penalties and otherwise putting him in a hole where he had to pass, or doom his team to another three and out. Chicago is able to get lots of pressure rushing only 4 and dropping 7 into coverage, so when the other team is always facing 3rd and long and is well behind to boot, turnovers are going to happen. It's a no brainer. If Buffalo plays conservative and ends up punting the whole game even when way behind, Losman and Jauron are going to be bashed for that too.

I don't know. It seems to me that if Buffalo played a difficult team and lost, and fans DIDN'T complain, whine and point fingers, it might mean the end of civilization as we know it.

Did it matter that we scored the TD?
TigerJ replied to Georgia Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the first touchdown scored on Chicago at Soldiers Field in over a year. You don't think that was a streak Chicago was trying hard to keep alive? That says something. -

He was onn an infamous cruise, but I'm thinking it was only a year ago, and it was not on Lake Michigan, but one of Minnesota's many inland lakes.

Actually I much prefer it when a player doesn't use name calling, but comes up with witty comments that lead the listener to the obvious conclusion that the guy who asked the question is indeed an idiot. That demonstrates that you are smarter than they are. That's what JP did.

Football's Future Has Updated it's 2007 Mock Draft
TigerJ replied to Ranger Ranchod's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously, either most of us who are Bills fans have our homer blinders on and can't see that JP is a bust, or the rest of the country hasn't figured out that he can be pretty good right now, and just might become a great one. I vote for the latter. -
WGR's afternoon topic yesterday

This is a no brainer. While I can't pick the Bills to beat Chicago, a win would be huge. More than one so called expert is calling Chicago the best team in NFL, but asside from the bragging rights accorded for knocking off the best team, simple math comes into play. There are 16 football games in a season. There are five times as many hockey games. Just from a numerical standpoint, a football game is 5 times as important to the final standings as a single hockey game. It was nice for the Sabres to beat the team that knocked them out of the playoffs, but I don't think there will be that much of a lasting euphoria for having done it. The Sabres play again in a day or so. Fans and the team will have moved on by then. A Bills victory over the Bears can literally make the season. -

What if the Bills do beat the Bears??
TigerJ replied to BoondckCL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Bills can probably control Chicago's offence if they don't have to stay on the field too long. My keys to a Bills win are: Strong run blocking in the interior line, and a solid short passing game from JP Losman. He will not have the luxury of being able to make interceptions or fumble the ball if Buffalo is to have a chance at winning. I don't expect him to have a lot of time to make deep throws. Therefore he's going to have to make like Chad Pennington and complete a lot of passes in a dink and dunk game. -
The Bears are 4-0. Success tends to breed arrogance in football fans. Just wait a year when the Bills start out the season 4-0. Posters will likewise start sounding as if all the Bills need to do to win the game is walk out on the field.

It's real simple, Mort. Very few GM are so incompetent that they make all the wrong decisions regarding players signed or drafted and coaches hired. If they did, they wouldn't last very long, unless they happen to be Matt Millen in Detroit. On the other hand, any GM that made all the right decisions would have a team that was so dominant they would never lose. That means, every GM has both good moves and bad ones. That includes Tom Donahoe. Donahoe admittedly came into a difficult situation in Buffalo with the salary cap woes. It was a given that Buffalo was going to struggle. Yeah, Gregg Williams said "This team right now can win the Super Bowl," but he must have been smoking something. The bottom line is that even with that difficult set of circumstances that first year, Donahoe had enough time to build a solid winner in Buffalo. He didn't. Than means he did not make enough good decisions, and he made too many bad ones. I'm happy to give him credit for London Fletcher and Jason Peters and many of the other solid acquisitions. Some were more than solid. They were brilliant. But he's also got to take the blame for Mike Williams and others. He didn't do enough. It was time for him to get dumped. No regrets. Thank you, Mr. Wilson.

One reason why I think Losman will be good
TigerJ replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that is by design, partly but not entirely because JP is a young QB. They are generally speaking a high percentage pass. If you thought they've done a lot of screens until now, wait until they face Chicago's defense. With their speed, Buffalo will not be able to run wide or pass deep much. Until Chicago slows down I think the screen pass is going to be Buffalo's bread and butter next week. -
Could The Bills Be Catching The Bears
TigerJ replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's possible the Bears could have a let down game versus the Bills, but I wouldn't want to count on it. A betting man might be OK picking the Bills against the spread, but only a fool or a homer would pick them to win outright,
