  1. Not crazy about the idea of trading him. If they do, they need to get good value; a good draft pick and a player. Does Denver have any decent WRs they'd be willing to part with?
  2. He has not practiced and will be out for the game.
  3. I would not trade for him or pay him a big salary, but if he were available as a reasonably priced free agent, I'd bring him in and let him compete. I doubt that's going to happen though.
  4. I don't subscribe to the Buffalo News, and will not in the future. I don't mind having links for those who do, but I would love to see an effort made to link to free articles too.
  5. The Bills think he's better than Greg Maybin, who still has PS eligibility, I think.
  6. I am very wary of the notion of Buffalo's schedule going forward becoming softer. Yes, I know Denver and Atlanta were considered to be elite going into the season, and all five teams Buffalo has faced are considered to have good to elite defenses, but sometimes the Bills have displayed a tendency to play to the level of their opponent.. I hope the Bills win this weekend and Tyrod does well, but. . . we'll see.
  7. When I die and go to heaven, football in general will probably be a lot lower in my list of priorities.
  8. There may be some of that going on, but Adams seems to be a decent athlete. He's a bit on the small side, but McDermott seems not to be bothered by his linebackers being on the small side. I saw an ESPN article from last summer that suggested Adams might contest for a starting position in Oakland. I wouldn't want to depend on him as a starter, but he might be a genuine upgrade as a backup.
  9. I'm interested if he can be signed to a reasonable contract. I'm not interested in paying a premium price.
  10. I didn't do any film watching, but I had the sense that the offensive line and Tyrod were not playing well.
  11. I believe that there is always a possibility that a person can turn his/her life around. It only happens IMO when there is a heart felt confession. That's not the only thing needed, but it is a requisite piece of the puzzle. Whether this qualifies or not, I'm not sure. If the Bills do their due diligence and decide he's being honest and will follow through with any help the Bills might offer/suggest in staying clean, I'm not opposed to giving him a chance. I'll let the Bills decide what they want though.
  12. This is a possibility, except that teams don't have to designate who they want to come off IR. They just have to wait the required number of weeks. I am not sure how long that is, but I'm guessing 8 weeks. That means the Bills would have Clay available for the last few weeks of the season.
  13. Well, that's better than undergoing reconstruction due to a torn ACL
  14. Borderline. I don't see the Bills making any sort of deep playoff run, but it would not surprise me if they get in. They still have some growing and developing to do before they truly belong in the upper echelon of the league. Having a bunch of good draft picks next April is going to help them plug a few remaining holes, AND get deeper, which is a real need right now.
  15. I think we know we're thin at WR, and a few other areas as well, but Tyrod's tendency to hold on to the ball transcends this season. Statistically, you can see he's always done it. That puts a great deal of pressure on an offensive line that is already stressed because of injury.
  16. As always, there is no one reason for a team loss. Green torched Tredavious White for a couple of big plays. That didn't help matters. The offensive line didn't have a great day. They were dominated on many plays. Tyrod had some good plays, but on too many plays he just flat held on to the ball too long. Sometimes he seems not to sense pressure. I'm happy to have Tyrod until the Bills think they have someone better, but I don't believe the Bills are any more convinced after today's game that Tyrod is a long term answer at QB than they were last February when they asked him to renegotiate his contract in a way that removed any cap hit for early termination. Almost all coaches have a conservative streak in them that makes them not want to start rookie fifth round picks at QB. For that reason, I don't expect the Bills to be in a hurry to start Peterman. It wouldn't shock me to see it at some point in the latter half of the season.
  17. This makes some sense especially if Oakland can climb back in contention with KC and Denver for the AFC west crown or show they are viable wild card candidates. Also, if Buffalo and NE are both in contention for playoff berths when they play, the league may decide they would be a good TV draw in a nationally broadcast game.
  18. This. The offensive player knows when and where he's going to make a cut before the defensive player with coverage knows. Because he does, he can prepare better to make the cut without slipping more effectively than the defender. If the only inclement condition is rain (winds tomorrow are supposed to be light and variable) It has never appeared to me that good players have that much more difficulty holding on to the ball or catching it compared with dry conditions. The knowledge and expertise of the visiting equipment manager is also key. It's his job to make recommendations about what footwear players should use. You assume the home team knows what kind of shoes work best when their own field is wet, but the visitors may not unless the equipment manager has experience on that field and does his homework.
  19. He's not really any smaller than Humber.
  20. So he's the reason I don't read any Bills articles from the News any more! It's not as it Warren Buffett (the driving force behind Berkshire Hathaway, owner of the Buffalo News) is destitute and needs more money. I won't be lining his pockets.
  21. This is what I would do, if practical.
  22. It would make sense to try and trade Glenn only if the Bills are convinced that he's in a downward spiral in terms of his proneness to injury and his physical condition. I'm not yet convinced that is the case. It is interesting to me that the article reports Buffalo's interest in trading Glenn as a fact and not just an opinion that they should do so. There is no source and not documentation suggested for this, so I am doubtful.
  23. I think the Chiefs are playing a lot more man coverage than Buffalo, so it may be a bit of apples to oranges comparison between Peters and White. White has played some man for McDermott, but I don't think they're asking him to do a lot.
  24. I have great admiration for Manuel as a person. I'm still skeptical of the notion that he has become a quality QB. More than talent around him, while he was in Buffalo he lacked the capacity to make quick decisions on his feet and the confidence to throw anticipation passes. In that respect he was not unlike Tyrod, who to this point has had to see the receiver open before he felt comfortable making the pass. I think Tyrod is getting a little better, and Manuel was far worse than Tyrod.
  25. Among the differences from last week to this week is the fact that Buffalo should be somewhat healthier on the defensive line. Humber is out at outside linebacker, but Matt Milano may be sufficiently ready that the Bills would have a huge drop off there.
