  1. I had dinner with Steve (in a group) once. My wife headed us a church camp once in which Steve's wife and two daughters were participants.
  2. Skarekrow from Buffalo Rumblings shares his thoughts on the subject: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2020/9/3/21418533/reggie-gilliam-changes-number-and-position-buffalo-bills-fullback-tight-end
  3. Ruben Brown sounds like a pretty cool dude. I think he'd be fun at lunch.
  4. If his head were in the right place, he could probably step on the field and be productive on the field this season. Unfortunately, he'd probably be more focused on his fingernails than the game.
  5. Beasley is a different breed of cat. He's a slot receiver. Not every WR has the short area savvy and quickness to get open underneath, and Beasley is one of the best at it. The saying goes, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush," but the OP is proposing giving up the bird in hand (Beasley) for just one in the bush (a draft pick). As a 32 year old player he'd be worth maybe a 4th round pick. Bad trade all around.
  6. Regardless of the way he's listed, I would not expect him to function as an inline tight end very often. He's way short at only 6 foot. Still, he could in a pinch and really has the versatility to line up almost anywhere on offense from wide to H-back to traditional fullback. Yes, even inline if he had too. That versatility means extra value, and of course as an undrafted rookie, he's way cheaper than DiMarco. If he has played well during training camp, while DiMarco has been sidelined by injury, it seems as if there might be a lot of incentive for Beane to go with the youngster.
  7. I understand this is related to the New York State quarantine rule for persons visiting certain states. Eric Wood Lives in Louisville, KY and also does ACC games (which haven't been canceled). NY won't let him come in without quarantine after traveling around to states with high COVID-19 incidence.
  8. Just don't put him on IR until after cutdown day. There's a chance he'll be good to go by December.
  9. I stick to TV when I can.
  10. I'm sure Beane has made other teams know about the availability of some receivers, but there really isn't that much trade value among the extra guys. Robert Foster has regressed and is a fringe player. Isaiah McKenzie has some ability as a special teamer and a gadget player, but WR needy teams aren't looking first for gadget players. He's really unproven as a WR. Duke Williams might hook up with somebody but he hasn't shown all that much that he would command a draft pick in a trade. The one area where I think Buffalo has some real trade bait is at interior offensive linemen.
  11. Game five is against Tennessee. Game six is against KC.
  12. The Jets have lost some key pieces, but this latest is relatively minor. Yeah, the linebacker will mist the game with the Bills, but the others look like day to day injuries, the kind every team is dealing with. The Bills are going to crush them in any case.
  13. Agreed. He portrays Josh Allen as a question mark, which he is, and holds open the possibility that he'll continue to improve. While I am an optimist when it comes to Josh Allen, I still have to admit he's not a sure thing even now.
  14. Yeah, I agree on DiMarco. Reggie Gilliam has been making the most of his opportunity. Nobody is going to mistake him for Stephon Diggs, but he's done what they've asked him to do from catching the ball to blocking and playing special teams. And as they say, the greatest ability is availability. Other predictions: Davis Webb surprises everybody and sticks as backup QB. Neither Barkley nor Fromm have done much to lay claim to a spot in training camp. I think Feliciano makes the initial 53 man roster and then gets IRed Starting offensive line will likely be Dawkins - Spain - Morris - Ford - Williams. After Feliciano is IRed, the backups will be Winters, Nsekhe and Bates. At WR, Brown, Beasley, Diggs and Davis are no brainers and Andre Roberts is close to it. The last spot will go to either McKenzie or Hodgins, but I really don't have a feel which of the two will get the nod. Dawson Knox hasn't done a whole lot in training camp, but he's the default starter at TE. I think Lee Smith also makes it, mostly because nobody else has stepped up. Same with Tyler Kroft. I'm assuming his most recent foot injury is day to day. At the forth TE spot, I think the Bills switch out Sweeney for Croom and Sweeney ends up on IR. At DT, I think Oliver, Butler, H. Phillips and Jefferson are set, or at least close to it. At DE Hughes, Epenesa, and Addison are locks. Epenesa hasn't been blowing observers away with his pass rushing at training camp, but he gets a pass for being second round pick. The fourth DE is a tough call. Trent Murphy has underperformed his contract, and there's nothing to suggest that will change, but on occasion he generates some pressure and he's usually not terrible. Daryl Johnson has flashed in camp and is a special teams demon. He's got some size and quickness, but has he done enough? Mike Love has also flashed as has Brian Cox. Unfortunately, none of the three has done quite enough that it screams, "You have to keep me." Expect to see a couple of them at least on the PS. If the Bills keep 9 D-linemen, I think the extra guy will be a DT. I'm guessing Vincent Taylor, but Tanzel Smart has been making a case for himself. Of course, Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano are the established stars at linebacker. AJ Klein and Matakevich also make the squad. I think Vosean Joseph is headed for the PS if not being cut outright. I think Dodson makes the team. There will be one more, but the last guy is a tough call. There's something to be said for Thompson, but he's been nicked up in training camp and he's small even for Sean McDermott. There's the new guy, Andre Smith, who has a special teams reputation. Del'Shawn Phillips is pretty athletic but I think we know less about him than just about anyone one else among the linebackers. The last guy will be one of those four. At CB, Tre White is a lock, of course, and so are Levi Wallace and Taron Johnson. I'm assuming Josh Norman's Hamstring issues are minor and he makes the squad. I think Brian Allen makes it. He's big and fast and a special teams ace. I think the Bills saw something in him they like and that's why they went out and got him. I think the last guy is Dane Jackson, but I wouldn't be shocked if they went Cam Lewis instead. Which ever one doesn't get picked goes to the PS. At safety after Hyde and Poyer, I think the Bills keep Neal who can play some CB and is a special teams demon. If the Bills keep five, it's an easy call. The last two are Dean Marlow, who knows the system well and Jaquan Johnson who is very smart and instinctive if not terribly athletic. He's a plus special teamer too.
  15. It was an emergency. They had to bring him back for One Bills Live because Steve Tasker was off playing golf.
  16. Yeah I think the #6 spot is going to be a battle between McKenzie and Hodgins. McKenzie brings speed and versatility. Hodgins brings size. He also has very good hands and wins contested balls. Though his speed is pretty pedestrian, he has demonstrated the ability to get open on occasion.
  17. No, he should keep both feet elevated all the time. He only risks injury when his feet are on the ground.
  18. As per the article, he's 6' and 237 lbs. He ran a 4.63 40 at the combine despite popping his hamstring in the middle of it. Despite that Lance Zierlein of NFL.com called him slow
  19. Poor guy seems to have been born with two wrong feet.
  20. Davis has shown he's consistent as well as explosive. He has no obvious holes in his game. He doesn't look at all like the typical underdog rookie phenom-washout.
  21. Probably not happening. There aren't enough balls to go around. After the top four receivers - Brown, Beasley, Diggs and Davis, there aren't going to be a lot of targets to be had. Roberts will get a few of those as the Bills try to get him a bit more involved in the offense. Duke's real problem is that Gabriel Davis is a better, faster, more explosive version of himself. Anything Duke can do, Davis can, and Davis might be able to do it better. Add to that the fact that Davis is younger and possesses more upside, and the handwriting is on the wall for Duke Williams.
  22. If Buffalo needed a bell cow running back, I think the Bills could do much worse, but I agree, he's not an especially good fit for the Bills at this time. Moss and Singletary are pretty well liked, I think, by the organization. Since Fournette was a first round pick, his rookie deal is higher than what the Bills are paying their own top two RBs, and if Buffalo were to claim Fournette, they would robbing carries from their own promising youngsters.
  23. I think it is a fluid situation. Both are going to get touches because the NFL is too much wear and tear on a running back to expect him to carry 30 times a game. If one of them gets hot, he gets more carries. If Singletary puts too many balls on the carpet Daboll may give more carries to Moss.
  24. A potentially lower cap is why a player like Reggie Gilliam has a chance to unseat Patrick DiMarco and what made it a bit easier for the Bills to take a chance on Tyler Bass instead of an expensive veteran. That's not the only reason Buffalo let Stephen Hauschka go, but it did make it easier.
  25. Feliciano is a question at this point. The Bills could try and keep him as a 9th offensive lineman, or they could put him on IR after cutdown day.
