Tre'davious White turned out to have been an excellent pick, and I have no problem with the Bills' strategy in the first round, since teams don't have the benefit of hindsight when they draft. However, redrafts are all about hindsight. Deshaun Watson looks like the real deal in Houston. I expect when he recovers from his injury, he will continue to develop into a reliable franchise level QB. A franchise is a major key to success in the NFL and it has been a very long time since Buffalo has had one. That makes this an easy choice.

Marshall Faulk, 2 others suspended from NFL Network.

I think sexual harassment is a real issue. It may well be possible in an individual case that the woman involved is being overly sensitive, but it's not justifiable to become calloused toward the next woman to make an accusation just because there are so many. Each needs to be judged on its own merits. I think that sexual harassment has been commonplace because men have long thought it was OK as part of the underside of the culture. Maybe the sheer number of high profile cases will help to change the culture and kids growing up will finally get the message that it's not OK. -

McDermott has said as much. That should be pretty reliable.

Medically, I'm sure he could have played, but I'm also sure his knee was still sore. I can imagine that even though physically able, Tyrod may not have felt as free to take off and run with the ball as he normally is. Tyrod depends on his athleticism and mobility as part of his skill set to be effective. It might be the most important thing he has going for him. If his knee is sore and he doesn't feel as comfortable running or rolling out, then he's going to be even less effective, which would have been deadly in the snow yesterday. He also would have been vulnerable for more hits, which could have aggravated the original injury or caused a new one.

Hate ever rooting for the Pats but...
TigerJ replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I do want the Dolphins to experience a serious beat down, and the better shape New England is with regard to the playoffs, the more likely they rest key starters in two weeks. Buffalo has a couple of advantages over Miami already. Miami will have to come north and play in lousy weather on a short week. If the Patriots can beat them up some too, it's all good. -
Peterman - Bad Passes vs. Catchable Passes
TigerJ replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His passing was pretty accurate. -
Miami is coming to town next week, and - oh yeah - weather looks like it will be a factor again. One week out - things can change several times before they hit the field next Sunday, but Orchard Park is expecting temps in the 30s with wet snow. It doesn't sound like a lake effect event like the game had today. Rather, it sounds like a garden variety snowstorm. Hopefully it'll be enough to make the Dolphins very uncomfortable.

Peterman - Bad Passes vs. Catchable Passes
TigerJ replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most of Peterman's passes were catchable under ordinary circumstances. Like every QB he threw some passes that receivers had to stretch or jump, or adjust to in some way. The weather being what it was, I can't be too hard on a receiver for not making an otherwise makeable reception. -
I expect Tyrod will be ready to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Peterman clears concussion protocol by next Sunday, but I suspect he'd be inactive anyway because he won't have been able to practice much during the week. Tyrod starts, Joe Webb backs him up, and Logan Thomas is the emergency QB.

Obligitory Peterman v. Taylor against Miami Thread
TigerJ replied to Woodman19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod. Peterman is in concussion protocol. He will be somewhat limited in the practice reps he can get this week even if he can move through the protocol as quickly as the rules allow. Rookie QBs need their practice reps. I'm hopeful about Peterman's development, and I want him to have a chance to get some playing time this season, but I want him to have a full week of preparation if he's going to start. It's not like he has the muscle memory of a veteran. -
Not even a question worth thinking about until next year.

Nathan Peterman in Concussion Protocol
TigerJ replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterman played pretty well, except for the decision to slide head first. Giving the conditions, it's hard to blame receivers too much for drops. This is the kind of game where you can give kudos for good performances, but you can't penalize those who struggle with the weather too much. I'm assuming Tyrod will be ready for next week. I think he was close to being ready this week. I expect Peterman will be inactive next week even if he's out of concussion protocol. As a rookie QB, he really needs his practice reps, and he's not going to get much this week. -
Around the NFL Week 14 - Who to Root For
TigerJ replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Chiefs beat the Raiders, so I think it's now better if the Chargers lose. One of them is going to win the division. Neither has a terribly difficult remaining schedule except for the fact that they play each other next week. I think the Chargers schedule might be a bit more difficult. If the Chargers go on to lose today, and the Chiefs can beat them next week, the best they can finish is 8-8. Buffalo can finish ahead of the Chargers for the wild card spot with 2 more wins. -
Yeah, a special weather statement has been issued. A lake effect band is suppose to get better organized and intensify, and move north from where it currently is (looks like Colden and the town Boston hills on radar), and Orchard Park is in the bulls eye during the afternoon. It's going to be real interesting. I wonder If those of us watching TV will actually be able to see the game.

Is the 2018 QB class highly overrated?
TigerJ replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Despite the fact that all the top QBs have questions surrounding them, I think there is far more potential in this draft class than is average. I wouldn't be shocked to see 5 or more starters emerge from this draft class when all the dust clears in a couple years. That is to say, there might not be 5 starting QBs from this draft class next fall. -
Should Bills pass on Draft Prospects that
TigerJ replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The plain truth is, the skipping of bowl games is not going to hurt the draftability of draft prospects. As a GM, I wouldn't figure into my draft board in the east whether or not a prospect plays in or skips his college's bowl game. I don't like to see the skipping though. I understand the risk issues, but it the "me" attitude is pervasive in society and threatens a lot of things that have been very good for a long time. -
At this point, it does look like the weather will be a bigger factor later in the game. 1-3 inches of snow during the afternoon. It the actual snowfall is at the lower end of that range, I don't think it will be a big deal. Three inches will make the footing pretty treacherous late in the game. I hope McDermott has been having the Bills practice in the snow.

I am assuming Peterman has learned something from his start versus the Chargers. Meanwhile, the Colts go into the game riddled with injuries in their secondary and a poor pass rush. Everything points to a better outing if Peterman starts.

Do you remember the first football game you went too?
TigerJ replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't remember the exact year, but I know it was in the early 80s. I was about 30 years old. It was a Monday night game versus the Jets. The Bills were terrible, which made for a terrible game. It was a sellout, so Rich Stadium was filled with angry fans. There were no restrictions on beer sales at the stadium, so fans were not only angry. A lot of them were drunk and angry. I don't drink, but I think I could almost have gotten drunk on beer fumes that night. Fans were throwing full cups of beer through the air. There were fights all around. The Bills initiated limits on alcohol sales after that game. It was terrible beyond belief. -
Neither is familiar to me. All I know is there is a Salamanca, Spain and a Salamanca, Mexico. Obviously, Salamanca is of Spanish origin. There is a small park in Salamanca with a statue of Simon Bolivar, the South American liberator. I never did get the Spanish connection because there is not significant Spanish population in Salamanca now. It's more Polish and Italian than anything else, with a healthy dose of Native American.

As soon as KC drops out of the division lead (It's a 3 way tie with KC ahead on tiebreakers) that draft pick will jump to the middle of the first round.
