  1. Milano missed practice - an ongoing hamstring issue.
  2. If the Bills beat the Jags, it will be the Bills. For me, it's a matter of ABCs - Anybody But Cheatriots
  3. I think starting Peterman versus the Chargers actually sparked a modest improvement in Tyrod's play. I can't prove it any more than the other "would have been different" assertions in this thread can be proven. I don't think starting Peterman for that game has really changed anything about Peterman's future in the NFL. Should he have a career as a starter or not has not been changed by him starting a game and playing for a half. BTW, I don't think Tyrod's improvement is sufficient to get the Bills to reconsider his future with the team. I think they were planning on cutting ties with him before the Chargers game, and they still are, even being in the playoffs.
  4. If memory serves, a poster here (not me) actually predicted this several weeks ago.
  5. It's true that the Bills' record of 9-7 is not a great deal better than their record in the last few years, tying the record achieved in Doug Marrone's second and final season. Besides getting into the playoffs, what is different is that this came in the first season of a new coach/GM regime when they are presumably in rebuild mode. The Bills have good situation in the upcoming off season with room under the cap and a good number of high draft picks. There is every reason to believe they are trending upwards and will be better next season. There is the addition feel good story of the Bills' longest tenured player finally getting in the playoffs and getting his first NFL touchdown in the process.
  6. They might be the best safety tandem in the league - pretty amazing for two guys who never played together before and were in the league but couldn't break the starting lineup for their original teams. I guess Poyer was slated to start for the Browns, when he got a lacerated kidney putting him out for the season.
  7. Sigh! I suppose it was a given that somebody was going to start this thread.
  8. Landry went out of bounds. The question is was he still touching the ball when he did, not did he have control of the ball when he went out (he did not). I did not see a video after the overrule. I would like to before I make a judgment, even though Riveron has no credibility for me.
  9. Besides the fact that it is a sprain, you aren't going to get anything out of OBD before about Wednesday. For a time in the game he was questionable to return befor they downgraded him to out. I don't know if that makes him more or less hopeful to start next week.
  10. Tyrod makes some nice plays. Then he turns around and makes me pull my hair out.
  11. Jacksonville losing to the Titans may have been bad for one route to a wild card spot for the Bills, but it may portend positively for the Bills playing Jacksonville next week. Going into the playoffs, momentum is your friend. Buffalo has it. Jacksonville doesn't. I'm sure that players who were here when it happened will remind newcomers that Doug stiffed the Bills a few years ago. That should help with the motivation a bit.
  12. If the Bills do make the playoffs, there could be some further tinkering with the roster. If the guy is on your PS, he will have a little practice time in the system, which is better than coming in cold. Even if the Bills don't make the playoffs, it may be that the Bills find his skill set intriguing and it's easier to sign a guy to a futures contract if he's already in the building.
  13. The more I think about it, the more intrigued I am by Lamar Jackson. I wouldn't plan on him starting in September.
  14. I don't think the bowl game drops his draft status. I think NFL talent evaluators figured out that no QB behind that offensive line was going to look very good versus Ohio State.
  15. Fans can think whatever they want about the wisdom of Peterman versus Taylor starting at Miami, but it's just about set in stone that Tyrod will start. The only way Peterman sees the field is if Tyrod gets hurt or the Bills are up by 20 in the 4th quarter.
  16. When the Miami game is in September, it can be rough for the Bills to have to travel and them play in 95 degree temps with humidity. This year, both the NFL scheduler and the weather man have done the Bills a favor. Not only is it the last game of the season, on the last day of December, but the weather forcast is for somewhat cooler than normal temps. Most of the game is going to be played in the low 70s. Our Bills should be pretty comfortable in those conditions.
  17. I think it could end up being Drew Locke with a veteran being signed earlier. I put down Lamar Jackson. I don't think Darnold or Rosen are practical at this point. Mayfield's off field antics are too much of a red flag for me, and I have too many questions about Mason Rudolph. I think Lamar Jackson to Desaun Watson is a better comparison than Lamar Jackson and Tyrod Taylor.
  18. Regardless of the degree of pain inflicted by a hard hit from a defensive player versus the pain of hitting the turf, using your arm to break a fall is a deeply ingrained instinctive and reflexive response to falling. If you think about it, you might be able to plan your fall and go into a roll without using your arm, but most of the time it happens so quickly, all you can do is react.
  19. A good share of the difference in production between Kupp and Jones would seem to be the struggle that Tyrod had in finding any of his WRs compared with Jared Goff's blossoming into a prolific QB in his second year.
  20. Makes sense. If any team is interested in Tyrod and believes that multiple teams could be interested, that team may be willing to invest a draft pick in a trade rather than tempt fate by trying to wait out the Bills and hoping they aren't willing to pay him that roster bonus that is coming due in March. The specific draft pick(s) will depend on perceived market value (how badly multiple teams want Tyrod).
  21. You posed two questions. The first one appeared to be rhetorical since virtually everybody believes domed (or partially covered) stadiums are louder than open stadiums. Therefore, while it is likely DD would agree that the stadium would be louder for being partially covered, his primary answer was almost certainly to your second question. If it is kept mostly open most of the time, I think a natural grass surface is possible.
  22. Of course, we all know Dunkirk Don is claiming and inside source that pertains to all of the alleged inside information he has posted. If all of it is what he says it is, then of course it provides a rare window into the operations at OBD. If none of it is, DD has put in an irrational amount of time and effort for a mere hoax. If you think that is the case, why have you bothered following the thread? To me it seems like the third option (posting some true stuff and some made up stuff) is the most unlikely of all possibilities. Why on earth would he do that?
  23. Too much name calling. The stuff that Dunkirk Don was posting was fascinating to some of us. I don't know why people couldn't just leave it at that.
  24. It's not impossible that it break that way. We'll have to wait and see. The Ravens are likely winners. I think the Bills are enough better than the Dolphins that they can win in Miami. The Jags Titans game is going to come down to if and how many players Marrone decides to rest for the playoffs. The Chargers game has so many variables it's pretty hard to predict. Anything is possible.
