Jeremiah Briscoe is a a sleeper QB that's playing. He might get drafted.
-
To my uneducated eye, he looked pretty good the few times I've seen him. Opinions around the world of draft fanatics vary widely. I get the impression he might not have the strongest arm of any of the prospects, and he may be something of a project, but the latter is probably true of almost every prospect. At this point in time I don't have a firm opinion about any QB in the draft. If the Bills think he's worth drafting and pull the trigger on him, I'm OK with it. We'll just have to see how it turns out.

Where is the plane? Does anyone know?
TigerJ replied to fansince88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Next weekend. Hopefully the Bills have a new OC before then. -
This has been my thought all along. Whatever his alleged source might be, it may not be infallible, which may account for a couple things not happening as he suggested, but then we also have the haters going back and redacting what he's supposed to have said to make it look like he's wrong. I find it all rather bizarre, and all too human.

Carucci only tweeted that McCoy would not be the new OC. He did not give a reason. Dunkirk Don did not say McCoy would be the new OC, only that he received an offer. The two are not contradictions. of each other.

Where is the plane? Does anyone know?
TigerJ replied to fansince88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did a thread to give a link to Buffalo Rumblings for an article they did on coordinator candidates. They have updated that article to include Brian Daboll, OC for Alabama. Daboll was on staff at William and Mary when McDermott was there. He also has been in the pros, having served on Bill Belichick's staff. I don't think there is anycollege team in Mobile with a coordinator that the Bills would be interested in, but The University of Alabama isn't too far away. -
Mike McCoy won't be the OC per Carucci
TigerJ replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In all fairness to Chad/Don, he said Buffalo had made the offer to McCoy, but he admitted there was doubt about him taking it. Carucci did not explain why McCoy is not going to be the OC. It could be because he doesn't want it, or Buffalo doesn't want him. -
Tom Clements: The Better Choice at Off. Coordinator ???
TigerJ replied to BurpleBull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Matt Canada - Nate Peterman's head coach at Pitt. He's considered to have one of the most creative offensive minds in the college ranks. He just left LSU as their offensive coordinator because the head coach couldn't handle his creativity. -
Could you mentally survive another drought?
TigerJ replied to Chugga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they started another 17 year drought next season, there's a good chance I'll be dead before it's over. -
The Doug Marrone Coaching Tree: Hop on board!
TigerJ replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Marrone has been a head coach long enough to have a tree. Jim Schwartz had a pedigree before he ever worked under Marrone, and I don't think he learned a thing from Doug. Hackett has been learning over the last few years. I think he's a creative mind, but I also think he and Marrone are sort of joined at the hip. I can't see him leaving Jacksonville and coming to Buffalo in a lateral move. -
Top 25 free agents per G.Rosenthal...
TigerJ replied to Kemp2Warlick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wasn't in the top 25, but Nigel Bradham was on the supplemental list of players who didn't quite make the cut. Anyone who's been a Bills fan for a while knows he started out as a Bill. He has near elite athleticism and has spent his entire career in Jim Schwartz defensive system, which is pretty similar to what McDermott runs. Young enough not to have lost anything physically. -
Arden Key- Do we roll the dice on him?
TigerJ replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are lots of talented guys going in the first round who will give GMs a lot less to worry about. -
I'm not advocating it, but if they do, Buffalo Rumblings has an interesting article on potential candidates: They are: Mike Shula - just fired from the position at Carolina Ken Dorsey - just fired QB coach at Carolina - no OC experience Rob Chudzinski - In limbo at Indianapolis as OC with head coach, Chuck Pagano, having been fired. Frank Reich - OC at Philly and legendary Bills backup during the Super Bowl era. John DiFillipo - QB coach at Philly, but has OC experience Mike McCoy - fired from Broncos OC job, but well respected and thought to have been McDermott's first choice last year Jim Caldwell - fired from long tenure as Detroit's head coach- has offensive background. Jim Bob Cooter, his OC in Detroit could also be considered Matt Canada - no pro experience, but one of the most innovative offensive minds in college football. He just left LSU because he wasn't permitted to run the offense his way LSU. He was Nate Peterman's coach at Pittsburgh Not sure about hiring somebody from the college ranks, but Canada's creativity makes him intriguing. Here's the link: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/1/10/16871990/potential-offensive-coordinators-if-the-buffalo-bills-fire-rick-dennison-mike-shula-rob-chudzinski

If I were convinced Hurst has Aaron Donald athleticism and drive, I might lean toward him. There is a risk, however, in that, if he doesn't, he's going to get pushed around and run on in the NFL because he is undersized at defensive tackle. Vea is a safer pick IMO, because of his size. Observers are saying he also is freakishly athletic to the point where being 340 lbs he could still play defensive end (presumably in a 3-4 defense). He's quick and strong as a bear.

More & more Mock Drafts have us taking Rudolph....
TigerJ replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've read all kinds of opinions on Rudolph. Someone is going be right and someone's going to be horribly wrong. Unless you believe Dunkirk Don, we really have no idea what the Bills think of him. In my experience of following mock drafts for years is that for some teams every year different prospects become fad picks at different times. It would not surprise me if a month from now we saw a flurry of mock drafts favoring another QB for Buffalo, or another player all together. -
Marcell Dareus: Going to Jaguars “changed my life”
TigerJ replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have no documentation to suggest that Beane and McDermott were solely focused on Dareus' contract. If Dareus had been playing like a pro bowler, I don't think Beane would have made the trade. If anything, it was a combination of Marcell's ineffectiveness combined with his cap number. You can suggest that coaching had something to do with his ineffectiveness (yeah he clogged up the middle in the running game but was a non factor in passing defense and McDermott needed more), but sometimes a player just needs a fresh start in a new setting. -
No way to predict. Fitz is as inconsistent as any QB. He has good games and crap games.
-
Yeah, that is a statistic that needs to be examined in context. You are right. If your QB is making mostly short passes defensive backs will not be playing off coverage that often because they don't want to be that far away when you catch the ball. The other fact that may be related is that Tyrod takes more time to release the ball than any other QB. I'm hearing commentators all the time saying that because Tyrod took so much time finding a receiver, the DB had an opportunity to recover when he had been beaten. It is possible that receivers are culpable too in the failure to have separation when the ball is passed, and there could be other factors as well, but this stat by no means lets Tyrod off the hook.

Do we really know anything about Brandon Beane?

I think he's an alien. -
Bleacher Report Ranks 3 Bills DT's as Worst in The NFL
TigerJ replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vea is alleged to be amazingly strong to go with his size, and freakishly quick. Interestingly, that is a lot like Dareus was alleged to be coming out of Alabama. You never want to paint a player with the experience you had with another player. Dareus' head was never in the right place. Hopefully, Vea doesn't have that issue. -
