  1. Amerson is still just 26, and has started just under 60 games. I think Buffalo could use that kind of experience right now. It doesn't hurt that he has some size and speed.
  2. So Mike Schopp posts here as BuffaloRush?
  3. PT Barnum must have been thinking of Buffalo Rush when he said, ". . ."
  4. I think Tyrod will work as a serviceable backup for the Browns through the rest of the season. They will have to decide in the offseason if his salary justifies his position on the bench.
  5. Stever Freeman is a former Buffalo Bill - played safety.
  6. Terrible news. I believe Sweet Sally Sunshine is in a better place with a brand new body, but there is nothing harder for two young parents to have to say goodbye to their child. May they have hope that comes from faith.
  7. Watching Tyrod play for Cleveland against the Jets, it appears Tyrod is who we thought he was. So, if Hue Jackson benches him, does that mean Hue is a racist?
  8. What gives? As far as I know, John Harbaugh never attended the Bill Belichick School of NFL coaching.
  9. For eight years I've been in an area where it's hard to watch a lot of Sabres games. At the same time, they were mostly not worth watching. I'm moving in 6 weeks to the Rochester area where the coverage should be better. By a happy coincidence, it looks like they may not be so hard to watch - finally!
  10. Groy is playing poorly.
  11. No, I want them. That is my dog wants them. He relishes the opportunity to try and chew up dirty socks.
  12. I just looked through the list of free agents still available. The cupboard is almost bare when it comes to offensive centers, but one name did catch my attention. Cornelius Edison is essentially a third year player (his fourth year out of college but was injured for most of what would have been his rookie season). He's been on the PS for several teams and spent a little time on active rosters. The only thing that makes him a bit interesting is that he is currently on the Vikings roster. The only reason I bring him up is that it now appears as if center is the weak link in the Bills' offensive line.Ryan Groy is apparently not what we'd hoped he'd be, and Bodine doesn't really look like an answer. Signing Edison would essentially be grasping at a straw, but sometimes that can pay off. And, of course, he knows the Vikings.
  13. I am among those who would trade back if I could, just not too far. If trading back was not an option, then Oliver would be my pick.
  14. Obviously, a franchise QB is not the only ingredient of a successful team, but it is probably the most important one. If you have it, then you can work on the other stuff. If you don't, than obtaining one is at the top of your wish list.
  15. I'm assuming the Bills think at least one of their wounded warriors makes a quickk recovery. If not, they might be forced to make another move. That could be a veteran.
  16. Hmmm. So you think the Chargers took it easy on the Bills in the second half? Do you think Anthony Lynn, whom the Bills failed to hire after Wrecks Ryan was fired decided to let up on the gas pedal while John Harbaugh kept the Pedal to the metal in the first game? Did he say as much in his post game comments? I didn't see, so I don't know. Maybe I'm a fool for thinking so. You probably think I am, but I choose to believe the play of the Bills in the second half really did improve, that Phillip Rivers would have been happy to score an additional 20 points, and the Chargers D didn't lay down and play possum so our rookie QB wouldn't look too bad. I think the Bills have a long way to go, and the season has many struggles yet to come, but I think some of the youngsters (including Josh Allen) are starting to get it and some of the veterans started to show some pride.
  17. Well, Buffalo might be getting better play out of their special teams than Minnesota.
  18. He sounds like a prospect rather than immediate help at CB. He went to Adams State. He does have terrific size though. 6'1' and 200 lbs, and runs a sub 4.4 at that size. If he's got good football inteligence and is coachable, he could be someng special down the line. The two guys Buffalo have on the PS (Ryan Lewis and Levi Wallace) are probably more ready to step in and contribute immediately than he is though. There are a few free agent CBs still left out there. The Bills could sign one of them or elevate one of their PS guys. What they do depends on how much they trust Phillip Gaines and Lafayette Pitts.
  19. Nobody has a crystal ball to be able to predict the future. There are some young unsung players for the Bills. Most probably won't develop into a viable starter, but some could become solid role players, and one or two could become really good or even great. The Bills see something in Robert Foster. The Bills let Jeremy Kerley go because they like the potential of Ray Ray McCloud in the slot. Wyatt Teller could become a solid offensive guard. Levi Wallace has potential as a CB. Matt Milano isn't likely to become a pro-bowler, but he's got decent range, tackles pretty well for his size and has some feistiness about him. Logan Thomas and Jason Croom both have good size and athleticism. This is not an exhaustive list either.
  20. True. I enjoy Patriot misery any time, but in view of the circumstances, it did help take a bit of the edge off the Bills' loss.
  21. Ah yes. When our Bills lose, there is reason to take comfort if the Patriots are also struggling.
  22. Agreed. It's nothing more than a player who realized he just didn't have "it" anymore. He lost heart. The fact he did it at halftime is definitely unusual, but not a reason to start looking for persons or situations to blame other than Vontae himself. Now, if Vontae himself started tossing around allegations, someone might want to look more closely at the locker rom, but that just isn't the case at this point.
  23. If that is the case, then the good news is that when they head into the offseason, they will (hopefully) have a potential franchise QB in the fold and locked up for the next four years. That is a lot different than trying to rebuild without knowing what you have at QB.
  24. Groy needs to be reminded his job is to block for his running back, not sit on him.
  25. I wouldn't be surprised if Taron Johnson is healthy by next week, but Buffalo certainly needs to find someone to play CB. Breeland has a reputation for inconsistency, but the shelves at the NFL free agency store are very nearly empty.
