  1. Vernon is probably faster at 230+ lbs than the other V. Davis at 180 or so.
  2. Vernon Davis is 34 years old!
  3. Hi Ice Bowl. It looks like the NFC North is getting tougher as a division. Minnesota isn't going away anytime soon and Chicago is developing rapidly. Mitch Trubisky is good and getting better. I think Aaron Rodgers has a frew years left at a high level, but the windo is showing signs of shrinking. I hope for your sake they can get it turned around quickly. I think Byuffalo is about where Chicago was last year. We have a young, promising and raw QB, just hoping he continues to develop and mature. We have a good defense and some obvious holes to fill.
  4. To make that into a caption": "What your sweatshirt printer couldn't spell FOLD CITY?"
  5. I don't understand why, but Darr sounds like a competent option. One year deal makes it sound as if they might be counting on the Bojorquez to handle punting duties next year.
  6. Yup. Fans let's keep idiocy in the stands, and not let it extend to throwing things that can cause injury.
  7. It's nice that the Bills could be the trigger for Marrone's desperation.
  8. He should be. He lacks the advantage of name recognition outside of Buffalo fandom.
  9. I believe Josh Allen has one of the strongest arms ever in the NFL, but I wonder how far back the technology goes to be able to accurately test that, and if every possible contender has been tested. I am optimistic that Allen has a very high ceiling, and I am excited to watch him progress on his learning curve.
  10. What's his 40 time? Just kidding!
  11. He's outstanding. I'll leave it at that.
  12. Bills - no question. Josh Allen is as good or better than Bortles right now, and has far more upside. Buffalo has a growing core of solid young players and a great cap situation heading into the offseason to fill holes with quality players.
  13. Absolutely would make the trade, and I like Allen. Why, you ask? Because Mahomes is already producing at a high level. He's still a young player, and should have a long career ahead of him. Josh Allen played pretty well today, but there's no way he's anywhere near Mahomes' level right now. Even though I think Josh Allen has a high upside, because he's not there yet, there is going to be a level of uncertainty about where his ceiling is until he get's a lot closer. Mahomes is much more of a sure thing at this point, regardless of the upside Allen might have.
  14. I saw that. I hope that's the end of it.
  15. I don't expect to see Aaorn Rodgers what I watch Josh Allen. I'm watching a guy who had the most growing to do of any of this year's rookie QBs. What I'm seeing is a QB who is growing. I think in the future it will be untealistic for him to run as much or as successfully as he did today. If he keeps attempting ro run as often as he did today, he's going to end up in a cast, but I think as hos reads get better and quicker, he won't feel the need to run as often. As the Bills make an effort to upgrade thei receivers and offensive line in the offseason, I think his passing game will become more effective too, but he's good enough to win some games right now, and I think he has a pretty high ceiling.
  16. Genetics matters, but there are so many variables, it would never be a useful tool in trying to predict player success. I sure didn't have the genetics to succeed as an NFL player.
  17. You're right. I was looking on the Iowa State website and did not notice that it has 2017 roster information, not 2018. Everything is a year out of date.
  18. This time of year it's hard to find a 40 time estimate for some players, Butler included. The subjective assessment of some observers is that he's fast for his size. He is, I believe, a red shirt sophomore, so I think he can declare for the draft if he wants to. I suspect it might be to his benefit to stay in for one more year. Iowa State had a freshman QB this season. He is a promising propect in his own right. Butler had a good year this year, but with a good QB playing his second year, Butler has a chance to put up even bigger numbers and raise his draft status. If he does come out, one pundit (might have been Kirk Herbstreit) thought he might go in the 2nd or 3rd round in 2019 if he enters the draft. That's where I would look at him.
  19. That's just strange. For starters, the sample size of some of these QBs just isn't enough on which to make an evaluation. Do you incorporate performances from previous teams. Matt Barkley had a very good game for the Bills on November 11, yet he is ranked the 14th best out of 18. Certainly that performance was better than the average EJ Manuel performance during his time in Buffalo. Thus it seems like his ranking takes into acount his lackluster NFL career prior to his game for Buffalo. Derek Anderson has played a couple games, and hasn't been very good. His rating reflects that, (15th) but he did have a pro bowl season for Cleveland way back when. As far as Josh Allen is concerned, I'm hopefuyl about his future, but I thyink it's pretty obvious his career thus far does not warrant him being rated as the best QB of the 21st century.
  20. Looking back 60 years ago, I got spanked a few times as a kid. I could probably count the number of times on one hand. My older brother got "the belt" once. My own kids got spanked a few times. When I did it, it was one swat. Most of the time, it probably doesn't do the kid any good, however. It's mostly an outlet for the parent's anger. Corporal punishment is, I suspect going to be an ongoing issue in this couintry. While most people and families have rejected it, it is still deemed acceptable in certain cultures in the US. I suppose in those cases, it comes down to degree. Certainly, society in general is not going to deem it acceptable to cause bodily injury to your kids I guess my question is why he still has access to his son. Regardless of what the league might do, shouldn't an effort be made to place the kid in a warm, safe environment?
  21. I think he might play Sunday.
  22. Yeah, Clay's health issues really degrade his value to the team. Logan Thomas and Jason Croom have been growing and improving as players.. I think they are still somwhat underutilized by the Bills, but I don't think the Bills have missed Clay all that much when he's been out.
  23. Racism is a real problem still, but implying Josh Allen is a racist based on tweets Josh made as a high school student doesn't do anything to address the problem of racism. If everybody always labeled everybody else based on the mistakes of the past, everybody would hate everybody. I think we need to believe people can change and become more mature. I think we need to take the time to find out what people are today instead of hating them because of their past.
  24. "Everybody who knows me knows why I was so hard on him," Ramsey said. He's essentially admitting that his trash talk is all about him and his (lack of) character, not about the players he's attempting to trash.
  25. Drafting a QB in round one of the 2018 draft just isn't going to happen. If they draft one at alol, it would be to have him on the PS for emergencies. I think they will try to sign Barkley to a 2-4 year contract in the off season. I think Derek Anderson will not be offered an extension. A QB on the PS could be handy to have if there are injuries. He will know the system and serve as a backup should Allen get injured and Barkley has to start, and he won't cost a roster spot if that does not happen. Look for a fifth rounder or later. Should Josh Allen not demonstrate sufficient improvement, I could see the Bills starting to think about a highly drafted QB in 2020.
