  1. I would say the majority of fans are now more confident that Allen is the fulfillment of Buffalo's long term QB search, but it may not be quite a done deal for everybody. My own position is that there is no pressure on me that makes me have to declare Josh Allen "Franchise QB." I have long been optimistic that he might be the one, and that hasn't changed. It's nice to see growing evidence of it, but he is going to be Buffalo's QB for the next couple years at least, no matter what. By the end of that time, whether or not he is our franchise QB will be self evident. We won't need a declaration to for anyone to know.
  2. Yes, it was (a relatively poor pass that was dropped). Obviously, Allen was running around trying to escape pressure. He didn't feel like he had the opportunity to set his fee properly, and it was a deep pass attempt, all of which makes it more difficult to unleash a perfect pass. Clay should have been more cognizant of Allen's scrambling, and should have come to the front of the end zone sooner. That would have made it an easier catch to make. In the end, it was a a catchable ball,, but a tough one to haul in.
  3. Looking up scouting reports on Dillon Day: It's said that he is smart, assignment oriented and plays with a mean streak. He ran a pretty good 40 time in college, but the negative on him is that he plays with some stiffness and is not terribly athletic.
  4. One observation I made today (for myself) is that Josh Allen got hit far more often and harder when he was standing in the pocket making a pass. When he was running, he was elusive and did the smart thing by going down to avoid the hit. I agree that short term, he'll be fine running the ball. However, Buffalo needs to work hard to build up the cast around Allen so that he has other viable options. In the long run, it would be advantageous if he did not run as often because the Bills could gain yards more effectively in other ways than they seem able to right now. If they can do that, Allen's running could even be more effective (if that is even possible). I'm not afraid of Allen running though.
  5. I think it clear that Beane made the right choice. The future is looking bright. I'll leave it at that. Now let's build a supporting cast on offense.
  6. Hopefully, by the time the Bills need a third string QB to step in and play, Derek will be ready. Concussions vary greatly in severity and recovery time. Obviously, he had a bad one. He would be inactive if he were healthy anyway.
  7. Yeah, I thought the same thing on the Zay Jones catch that was overturned. I agreed that it was not a catch, but the interference was obvious.
  8. Special Teams was especially frustrating today. I'm thinking, why should we ever try to run back a kick or fail to call a fair catch on a punt? Every single d*** time there is a block in the back or a holding call against the Bills. I know if I were McDermott, I'd be on Crossman big time.
  9. Like most, I'm encouraged by what I'm seeing out of Allen on the field. I was a little frustrated by first half play calling today. I thought there were too many running plays called on early downs. Miami knew what was coming and had stacked the box to stop it, and they still ran it - too often into a brick wall.
  10. I liked much of what I saw. I'm getting more and more comfortable with the thought that Josh Allen may have what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL going forward. Zay Jones is easily a starting caliber WR right now. Josh Allen still does rookie stuff, but he looks like he's learning and getting better. I'm really ticked with some of the sloppy and undisciplined play we saw today. It's hard to point out one or two players. They're spreading it around, but most teams are going to beat you if you're doing that stuff. Muffed punt catch, taunting penalty, false starts - that kind of crap. Last year the Bills weren't doing nearly as much of it. Lately though, it's getting worse.
  11. I'm not sure how much of an advantage Buffalo's reasonably priced housing market can be considered. Unless players come into Buffalo thinking they are buying their forever home, they have to know that if they can buy it cheap, they probably aren't going to be able to sell it for a high price. Profit only happens when you can buy low and sell high. I'm sure taxes (property and state income are at least a small issue. Then is perceived climate, salary potential, potential of winning championships, and team climate. Obviously with the available cap space, Buffalo will have no problem paying market rates for players. The perception is that there is a pretty favorable locker room environment. The QB situation and championship potential is a pretty subjective thing to try and assess. If a prospective free agent thinks highly of Josh Allen's potential (and some may) Buffalo becomes a strong candidate. Of course the QB situation and championship potential are closely related. All in all, I think Buffalo is in a position to be fairly competitive, especially with the high football character type guys the administration seems to favor. They certainly are not at the top of the heap though. Until proven otherwise, New England is still going to be able to sign guys to fill roles at below market prices as long as prospective free agents think they will be favorites to win the next Super Bowl.
  12. Others can market toys if they want, but we know it's the Bills who embody true trust in the process. LOL
  13. This tells me the Bills would have a much higher rating in their passing game if they faced the Raiders pass rush every week.
  14. Probably not. I'm all for second chances, but he's already shown ample capacity to lie and misrepresent himself. I only consider it if i can have an in depth conversation and I'm convinced that he's truly remorseful and a different person now. Given his capacity for dishonesty, I have doubts that he could convince me in the short term.
  15. Not at all certain of that. Neither player is without a question nor two. Could Jonah Williams be benefiting from Alabama's overall personnel dominance? Greg Little's consistency and effort have been questioned by some. I'm not saying they aren't really good, but there ave been years when the top OT's credentials have been so impeccable that a top 5 choice would have been a no brainer. I just don't see that this year. The top of the draft is going to be almost all defense. The only exception might be if a QB desperate team overdrafts somebody.
  16. You must live in a dark and dreary world.
  17. Didn't Sirles also have some reps at RT in the Jacksonville game?
  18. Yes. I'll listen to interviews from recorded editions of One Bills live and checkout articles. I'll look for Bills content and talk wherever I can get it.
  19. In the case of our shut down cornerback, it's white on white on White.
  20. Buffalo has several developing young players. It's not shocking that the mantle may have been passed from Shady, but Tre White is going to have a bunch of great players around him. That may include Josh Allen (I'm optimistic, but he's not there yet, Edmunds, Matt Milano, Zay Jones and maybe a few others.
  21. Great News. I hope his recovery from surgery is swift and without complication. Cancer is a bear, but it doesn't have to win!
  22. I could see this. Having some easy opponents to start the season might have allowed some wins while Josh was earlier in his learning curve. Not guaranteed though. He's definitely growing into the role. I don't think he's there yet however. I'm excited for next year.
  23. I think Frank Reich would have been a fine choice for Terry Pegula to hire as head coach, but don't write off Sean McDermott just yet.
