I would be surprised if he gets consideration this year. I would think teams would want a guy who has demonstrated a little more success in their present position than has Daboll.
-
That was my understanding. It was assumed that Jeremy Jacobs would not be allowed to purchase the Bills as long as he was the owner of the Boston Bruins.

Interesting article on Robert Foster
TigerJ replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good question. I doubt we'll ever find out. It's also interesting that after a strong combine, he still didn't get drafted. I think it's pretty clear that Brian Daboll's presence on the coaching staff had a lot to do with Buffalo wanting to sign him, and probably a lot to do with Foister wanting to come to Buffalo. Sometimes it all works out!./ -
Jones has been inconsistent. He's been strong some weeks and had a lot of drops on other weeks. I think he probably sticks around for another season to see if he can get that straightened out. He does a lot of good things, if he can only hang on to the ball.

Sal C, talking but saying nothing...
TigerJ replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. He's not an analyst. He's a reporter. He reports what team members and coaches say and do. -
Certainly deep passes are lower percentage plays than check downs and dumpoffs, but then every deep pass is worth multiple dumpoffs. With the addition of deep speed, Daboll is deliberately incorporating a lot more deep routes. It may be that right now, McKenzie and Foster, the recipients on the deep throws are just better at getting separation on deep routes. I wouldn't make too much of it. I think next season we're going to see a far more mature Josh Allen, and Daboll is going to have lots of variety in his game plans. It's going to be fun to watch.

I think McCoy will probably be healthy next week, and maybe Chris Ivory too. They could actually have 4 active running backs. They'll be dinged up some, but that's par for the course in week 16.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Come Back, Hold on to Beat Lions
TigerJ replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lorenzo Alexander is on the record as saying he'd like to play one more year. His production is such there isn't any reason for the Bills not to give him a meaningful one year deal. No, he's not getting a big money deal, but there's no reason to low ball him with avet minimum offer either. -
Has fan behavior been better at games this year?
TigerJ replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably. I've not been to a game this year. Just kidding. I'm probably the dullest fan you'll ever meet when iut comes to rowdy behavior. -
Bills fall from 6th to 10th in Draft Order
TigerJ replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably, but it's not set in stone. There are certainly a lot more defensive players that are rated in the top 10 of the draft, but a few prognosticators think that either Jonah Williams or Greg Little might be worth a top 5 pick. Of course, it really depends on what the Bills and Brandon Beane think. Then of course, there is the possibility of a trade. We haven't even mentioned what the Bills might do in free agency. I don't think it's at all a tragedy if the Bills are picking 10th. -
Brady and Belichick Deserve to Go Out On Top
TigerJ replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To each his own. In contrast, I have interest in seeing another victorious Brady/Belichick, or the Lombardy Trophy in New England. -
Whatever Daboll and Culley are doing with Josh Allen is working OK. This was a kid that many thought would bust, and then said he needs to sit for a year. He's still young and has much yet to learn, but he's winning some games, and doing it with a weak supporting cast. The NFL game is definitely not too big for Josh Allen, and some credit at least should go to Daboll/Culley.
-
Not illegal. Belichick plays to the edge and looks for loopholes in the rules to give his team an advantage. I don't like him. Among the reasons I don't like him is the fact that his propensity for finding loopholes puts the league in a position of coming up with more and more rules to close them.

Matt Patricia schemed to try and prevent giving up big yards to Josh Allen on the ground. It is a given that if the defense schemes to take one thing away, they will do something else less well. The trick is for the quarterback to be able to discern what the defense is doing and the offense to take advantage. Patricia did it because he was testing whether or not Josh Allen could pass effectively enough to win the game. He did.
-
Yeah, that is a very pertinent factor. Both Lynn and Reich are good coaches, but the presence of a franchise QB gives them an automatic head start that McDermott didn't have. I think McDermott is going to be fine, and I'm encouraged that Josh Allen looks increasingly like he has the essential characteristics to develop into a franchise QB. When he does, he'll be younger and have many more years ahead of him than Luck/Rivers.
-
Given that Barkley is much younger and was far more effective in his start, it would be hard to imagine Mc'dermott preferring Derek Anderson.

Do we really need a new thread saying the same thing after every Bills win? And I like Josh Allen.

Who is Rooting for Miami (sorta)?
TigerJ replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am expecting that New England is going to win the division. Therefore, I'm rooting for Miami. . .to get crushed - which they diod. Now I'm rooting for Pittsburgh to beat New England. I'm counting on New England losing in the playoffs.
