So just to recap....as we enter the offeseason
TigerJ replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnson is physical, to be sure. I remember another Buffalo cornerback who was considered undersized, yet was very physical. Antoine Winfield had himself a very nice NFL career. Yes, it's possible Johnson could have recurring injury issues. Buffalo will want to kleep working on building depth at defensive back. I hope Johnson continues to play with confidence and physicality though. -
Now that he's retired, will he finally fork out the money for an eye exam?

New York Jets: HC Todd Bowles fired
TigerJ replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If so, I hope it is the same McDaniels who had a stint as head coach for Denver. (hoping he hasn't learned anything since his Denver days) -

Johnson sustained a (I think) shoulder injury early in the season and tried to play through it all season, hoping to delay surgery until the offseason. He almost made it. To say he is injured all the time is misrepresenting what actually happened. -
Today his completion percentage was 65%. He had 3 TD passes against one INT and 224 yards passing to0 go with 95 on the ground. That was a pretty good day for QB, and hopefully the completion percentage (his best day as a pro?) is a sign of things to come next year.

A Few Thoughts about the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
TigerJ replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tremain Edmunds had a pretty significant impact today. One thing I noticed was that he didn't seem to be trying for huge collisions. He hust wrapped people up. Tyhat doesn't bother me at all. In fact with the tendency of officials to call personal foul and roughing penalties so frequently, maybe simply wrapping a guy up is the smarter way to go. I was happy that Zay Jones had a pretty big day. Hopefully it shows that he has the potential to be a factor in the passing game. It also may be evidence in Josh Allen's ability to spread the ball around. I didn't really look at what kind of coverage Miami had on Foster, but maybe they shaded coverage more toward him since he's been the bigger factor recently. If so, it shows Allen is willing to take what the defense is giving him and reading who has single coverage. -
As he approached the sliding Josh Alolen, he had the opportunity to pull up and avoid the contact. He didn't. He attempted to hit him. Luckily, he largeloy wiffed in the attempt, but the attempt to harm was there, and that's why he got ejected.

McBeane will build a Wr Core of 2s & 3s.
TigerJ replied to BillsFan1988's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have said I think the concept of a #1 receiver is overrated. If a team has a receiver who is so obviously better than anybody else on the team that the QB begins to depend on him as a crutch, it makes that team vulnerable to defenses that are able to focus on taking that receiver away. It's far better IMO to have a QB who is comfortable spreading the ball around to multiple receivers who are all competent at getting open and catch it consistently. Now, there is nothing wrong with having an elite receiver, if your QB is is still willing to find the receiver who is open, even if it's not his #1. -
Any insight/opinions on Hakeem Butler last night?
TigerJ replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in College Football
Deep, but not especially dazzling at the top. -
Zay Jones: The numbers show that he is a #2.
TigerJ replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know what Zay Jones might develop into in the future, but I'm not counting on him becoming more than a #2 receiver. -
The doorman at the Harp/Boston Bills Backers has passed
TigerJ replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard about this from my wife's cousin today. He is in WNY visitng from southern New Hampshire, and had a chance to meet him for the first time on Sunday, then learned Wednesday about his death. He had pictures on his cell phone. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
TigerJ replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see him get into coaching. -
Croom was a wide receiver who has made a transition to tight end. It's no surprise, therefore, that his receiving skills are ahead of his blocking skills. He is a really good athlete for the tight end position. Yes, there are things he needs to work on, including the notion that retaining possession is more important than fighting four or five defenders for an extra yard after you already have the first down. I think he's going to continue to improve in all areas because he does have a strong work ethic to go with his excellent athleticism.

DK Metcalf has one of the better skill sets among receiver prospects to go along with the best combination of measurables. He's big and fast, runs good routes and catches the ball when he's targeted. There wouldn't be much question about him being a top prospect at WR if he'd been healthy all year. It's the neck injury that throws a wrench into the evaluation process. Whether or not Beane would actually take him that high depends on how much he trusts the medical evaluations and small sample size in productivity.

Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
TigerJ replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is where my thinkng is. I'm optimistic that he's going to develop, but it's obvious he's not where he needs to be yet. A better supporting cast will help greatly. -
Leslie Frazier Named Potential HC Candidate by NFL.com
TigerJ replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Les Frazier gets a head coaching gig, hire Steve Wilks as your DC after Arizona fires him -
I always root for a win. In particular, I don't think a top 5 draft pi9ck is worth all that much more than a top 10 pick. There might be a consesnus on about the top two prospects in the draft, then there are a bunchy of guys on the next tier. One is not enough better than another that observers can arrive at any sort of consensus as to which one is better. . Buffalo could in theory draft in the ninth spot and be able to get the player who is third or fourth on their big board.

As a grandparent, I think I have a right to bring my grandchild to a game and not have him subjected to the kind of crap these low life fans in Joisey want to engage in. Civil liberties were never intended to be absolute because what one person would judge to be his right would cause another person to have his rights infringed upon. The law, and the interpretation thereof needs to seek a balance so that it's fair fro everybody, not just a self entitled handful.

SPECIAL Holiday Thanks To The TBD Posting Family

I hope2019 is a better year for you, OldTime, particularly, that your own health stays good and you don't lose a single friend or loved one for a long time. -
Again people..... This is the first year of a REBUILD
TigerJ replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The defense needs some tweaking, and to find some productive youth to replace our two defensive patriarchs (Kyle Williams and Lorenzo Alexander), but is not in bad shape otherwise./ The offense possibly has a long term answer at QB, and not much else. That's where Beane has his work cut out for him. -
Where would we be if we still had Cogs and Wood?
TigerJ replied to formerlyofCtown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we might have had a few more wins. I don't think we would have made the playoffs
