Bils fans the Dee Ford appreciation thread
TigerJ replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right. The guy had a stupid play, but I really don't get the tendency of fans to point at a single player and say it was all his fault. The referee's no call of Nickell Robey-Coleman in the Saints Rams game was a far more direct contributor to the results of that game, but the Saints had other opportunities. It didn't have to come down to that. -
NRC on the “non-call” (Update: FINED!)
TigerJ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When the beneficiary of a bad (non) call says it was a bad call, you know the officials rot. -
Who hates the Patriots** more than I do
TigerJ replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you quantify your hatred of a team? If you let it affect the rest of your life, it certainly is unhealthy. For myself, I look forward to their eventual downfall. I op our Bills are ready to step up and take their place at the top of the AFC East. -
Bills promote Asst WR coach Chad Hall to replace Robiskie
TigerJ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. It hought the delay might be because their choice for WR coach might still be with a team in the playoffs. The most logical choice would be an assistant WR coach that his present team would release for a promotion. Ron Curry is an assistant WR coach for the Saints, who are not out. Just a guess though. I don't pretend to have any inside info. -
Hmm. I wonder if Buffalo could contract to have Bermuda grass installed just before their home game versus the Patriots next season. The problem is they wouldn't be able to get it locally. They'd have to have it trucked in.

My guess was Ron Curry, assistant WR coach for the Rams. If I'm right, we'll know tomorrow. If Marvez is right we'll hear when we hear, I guess. -
GDT: NFC Championship Game Rams at Saints on FOX
TigerJ replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The refs certainly don't look like they want the Saints to win. -
I agree with that. I suppose everybody has their own definition. I have a hard time considering anybody picked in the first couple rounds as a sleeper.

Next year.

Darrell Henderson and Tyre Brady look like their pretty fast and athletic. I think Blace Brown would be a solid pick. I looked up Kendall Blanton and Jace Sternberger, who both look good, and ran across Dawson Knox, TE out of Old Miss. He sounds like an excellent athlete as well.

I don't have enough knowledge/expertise to say. I just think he checks some boxes and will be available later than his raw talent level suggests.
-
I think one of the fun activities of the pre draft process is to identify potential sleepers, guys who might be picked up in the third round or later with a chance to blossom into a solid football player or maybe even a star. At this point one guy who has caught my attention is Jazz Ferguson. He is a 6'5" 225 lb wide receiver from Northwestern State (Louisiana). He brother, Jaylon Ferguson is also part of the upcoming draft as a WR. He could be drafted in round 1. Jazz transfered from LSU because of academics and a failed drug test. He got his life straightened out, got his grades up and turned into a star at a lower level of competition. He didn't have much of a route tree at Northwestern State, but he's athletic, excellent hands, and following his sophomore wakeup call has turned into a leader and dedicated football player. So, who's your sleeper pick?

The Underappreciated Genius of Chan Gailey
TigerJ replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK. I think they needed to make a switch at defensive coordinator, but not head coach. I don't mind people disagreeing at all though. -
The Underappreciated Genius of Chan Gailey

I think he was one of the head coaches that Buffalo dumped prematurely. -
Jeremiah has better credentials than almost any other mock drafter you'll see on the internet, having been an NFL scout. At this point, it is fair to say he's unconventional, but until the draft happens and you can go back and grade his picks, it's probably premature to call it one of the worst. What I don't like are mock drafters who fail to do their homework on what is actually going on with teams. They make their picks with very shallow understandings of the state of teams, and sometimes complete misconceptions.

There are no consensus top 10 offensive linemen. Daniel Jeremiah is not alone in rating Jawaasn Taylor as the top one. Supposedly he's got good feet despite having a projected 40 time a little slower than the guys that are more popular (Jonah Williams and Greg Little. He doesn't have ideal tackle height (only 6'5" and not 6'6" or 6'7") He is massive though. Kind of reminds me of Cordy Glenn coming out of college. Who's to say if Daniel Jeremiah is not right?

As a lung cancer survivor (so far) I want to wish you the best. I'm only 2 years removed from my surgery and a year and a half removed from chemo, so there would not even be a point in my offering to have a bone marrow biopsy. I can't even donate blood. But I wish the best for you and hope you continue to fight the good fight! By the way, before you ask, I am a life long non-smoker. I just happen to be in that unfortunate 20% of lung cancer cases among non-smokers.
-
That is a reasonable position. I think a trade down is probably a good idea. It may, however, be difficult to come up with a consensus even of the top 5. Top 2 are almost certainly Bosa and Quinnen Williams. Maybe Josh Allen is in that group. There's not even close to a consensus on Devin White or Rashan Gary. Of course, Brandon Beane's top 5 is the only one that really matters to the Bills.
-
Even if you were to get a dozen GMs to list their top nine prospects in the 2019 draft, you would get zero consensus. Every list would be different. Greedy Williams might be on the list of some of them. So could Dwayune Haskins. Jeffery Simmons is thought by some to be a top 10 talent, but could be dropped because of a video from his high school days of a street fight in which he punched out a girl. So, your list is plausible, and fine for you, but I'll guarantee that's not how the draft falls.

The tough times of Nickell Robey-Coleman
TigerJ replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's never the cards you're dealt. It's how you play them. I wouldn't wish on anyone the tragedies NRC has had to endure, but I don't feel pity for him because he has endured and overcome. I feel admiration. -
I happen to be a (semi-retired) church pastor, so I've done a lot of funerals. I did one recently for a friend who was a year older than me. Ints a lot tougher doing a funeral for a 67 year old than an 85 year old, especially now.
