  1. He's 32. I wouldn't want to give him a long term deal, but he can still be productive as a 4th receiver. I wouldn't offer him a lot, but a reasonably priced contract for a year or two could mean strong positive leadership in the locker room and a mentor for the rest of the group.
  2. Robert Foster and Levi Wallace?
  3. It would make me very nervous if the Bills drafted Ed Oliver at #9. While listed at 290, it is rumored he played at under 280, and he can't really carry any more weight than that. He's also said to be shorter than his listed height. He's said to be not nearly as strong as another recent undersized defensive tackle, Aaron Donald. Then, you can add to that a bit of a reputation as a diva. I see him listed in a lot of mocks to the Bills, and that makes me cringe. I can see teams in the NFL lining up the road graders across from him and running straight at him.
  4. Maybe Arcega-Whiteside will blow me away with his combine results, but I'm not expecting it. Until then, my reaction is meh.
  5. Given last season, it's hard to expect a lot. You just hope he can stay healthy, and if he returns to his pre-injury form you're getting a bonus.
  6. Because of his size and skill set, if you draft Kyler Murray, you have to build your offense and develop your scheme around him. If Josh Rosen is on your team, you might as well get rid of him because they are so different. I can't imagine them giving up on Rosen so quickly, hence, I can't imagine them drafting Kyler Murray. As for trading out of that spot, I'm not sure they would. They have a chance to draft an elite game changing defensive player in the mold of a Von Miller or Kahlil Mack. It would be different if they weren't in the top 3.
  7. It's pretty much a given. DK Metcalf is jacked. I imagine he could stiff arm a DB into the next county.
  8. My bad. Actually Long is 28 and Bodine is 26.
  9. Meh. He's probably the equal of Bodine. He's a bit younger though. He'll replace either Bodine or Groy on the roster. I think the Bills are looking to draft a young center, and Long could start if the youngster needs a little time to acclimate to the NFL.
  10. Yeah, it's hard to heap too much blame on the Bills for deciding to start Peterman in the regular season given how well he played in preseason. One good thing about Beane is that he seems willing to learn from his mistakes and move on. Some GMs seem to hang on to their decisions well after they are proven to be terrible.
  11. The main focus of the article seems to be the draft picks of AFC East teams, but the omission of Levi Wallace is still pretty glaring. As far as Josh Allen is concerned, I can't really disagree with what he said. From the skeptic's perspective, he has much to prove and needs a lot of work in his passing. As a fan, what I see is a QB who was not even expected to start, who came in and was on an accelerated learning curve. He was a far better QB in December than he was in September, and he possessed essential traits that suggest the learning curve is likely to continue through next season and beyond. It is not unreasonable to hope that eventually he's going to be really good. In particular, in comparison with Sam Darnold, Josh Allen seems to be far more of a natural leader, to go with his superior athletic ability.
  12. The more QBs in the draft, the better for the Bills. At least some mock drafters have him going in the top 8, which would be great for the Bills. He's shorter than Baker Mayfield, but only be a couple inches. Mayfield seems to manage just fine, and I don't know that it would be any harder for Murray. It is a given that whoever drafts him understands that teams' offense will have to be structured around Murray's skill set.
  13. Greedy Williams is a CB. Wanting the ball is a good thing. His second contract could be an issue, however.
  14. I think it will be Metcalf.
  15. It's going to be interesting in the Meadowlands.
  16. I'll grant that he will be there. He will also be there at #10, after Buffalo picks another player.
  17. I'll nominate my sleeper pick for WR: Jazz Fergusson. Greedy Williams is pretty good though.
  18. I had heard a while back that Oliver played quite a bit lighter than his listed weight. That report also suggested he probably could not carry more weight than that. I'm definitely wary of drafting him at #9. The combine weigh in is critical for Ed Oliver.
  19. I'm not opposed to it. At Buffalo's positions of greatest need, there is not a lot of elite talent, but there is plenty of good talent. The bottom of the first is a good place to be picking that up.
  20. A 20 year old kid learning a new position on the fly in the NFL. I'm happy with his progress. Next year he's going to be MUCH more comfortable with the play book and with his role it it. He's going to react much faster.
  21. This is correct. Certainly, Josh Allen has to earn his own stripes. The article is just saying that if he's starting as a rookie, he probably has some talent. As you observe QBs starting as a rookie are probably on teams that have much room for improvement (Rothlisberger's Steelers being an exception). In many cases, the team is in a position to make a lot of personnel improvements around a young QB. Together with the QBs developing skill set and confidence, significant improvement in year two should be the norm, not the exception.
  22. I don't recall that it was in the first round, but I could have missed it.
  23. I had to look up "Zubaz" when I saw this thread. LOL
