  1. The drive from Albany to Tuscaloosa is long, but scenic. The drive from Central WI was shorter, but driving through WI/IL was mind numbing. Once I hit Paducah, KY it was okay.
  2. I'm used to driving from WI/NY to Tuscaloosa, so the drive doesn't faze me too much.
  3. Hey, it's Jersey, what do you expect? Is he neighbors with the Soprano's?
  4. My next trip to the Maritimes will probably be to Cape Breton. The drive is kind of painful: Almost 1000 miles.
  5. There was a really good band at Alexander Keith’s: Signal Hill. I went to the Citadel, the City Garden, Peggie’s Cove, the South Shore, Grand Pre. I ate a lot of lobster, mussels and oysters and drank a lot of craft beer.
  6. Yes, I stayed in Halifax. I was there for 8 days.
  7. Beautiful coast line and nice people. I'd go back, but I'll probably do Cape Breton next time.
  8. One guy was wearing an Alabama hat. I explained the etiquette when two Alabama fans meet. He was apologetic that he had no idea what I was talking about and shook my hand, lol. Nova Scotia is a nice place. I recall watching the Rochester Amerks play the Nova Scotia Voyageurs back in the day. They had a goon named Gilles Lupien who Amerks fans loved to hate. The Amerks had John Wensink, who was a real badass. Old time hockey in the '70s. This is classic John Wensink. I think Oggie Oglethorpe in Slapshot was patterned after him. Enjoyed talking hockey when I was up there. Brought back a lot of great memories of going to games with my dad.
  9. Leaving a stiff in the basement? That's bad form. He needs better house guests. That will get you a poor review on airbnb.
  10. I think Plan B if he can't find a fan base in Rochester is to go to Buffalo. There are a lot of Buffalo area kids at UA and I believe there is a group that watches the games. Canada isn't too much further so that's a possibility. I was in Nova Scotia last week and ran into a few folks wearing Alabama gear. My Roll Tides were returned with blank stares, lol.
  11. I suspect that trading Ragland was more scheme than cultural fit. He's a good guy as far as I know.
  12. A guy from BHM is moving to Rochester and he's looking for folks to watch Alabama games with.
  13. Strange that the Bills couldn't find a place on the roster for Ragland as a situational player. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/6/20/17481580/chiefs-pro-scouting-series-reggie-ragland
  14. I have driven by this Saturn rocket on I-65 in AL plenty of times, but I've never stopped. https://quirkytravelguy.com/quirky-attraction-space-shuttle-rocket-alabama-rest-stop/ Apparently there is a position called a flight surgeon. https://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2017/06/university_of_alabama_grad_for_1.html
  15. It’s a complicated history. Rocket R&D was done at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville after WWII. The George C Marshall Space Flight Center is in the Redstone Arsenal. It was formed in 1960 and is the largest NASA center.
  16. "Rocket surgeon" was a joke based on a previous post in this thread. Huntsville, AL is known as "Rocket City, USA". It has among the highest concentration of engineers in the country. https://www.cbsnews.com/media/americas-top-10-tech-cities-arent-on-the-coasts/2/
  17. Is the whole movie as tedious as the clips?
  18. Fitz is so smart he could have been a rocket surgeon.
  19. I don't recall the details, but I think he was involved with his alma mater, Miss State, in some capacity. I think a radio show?
