Those are amazing numbers. Roll Tide! The recent flooding in T-Town looks pretty bad. Hopefully it didn't do too much damage to the campus. Speaking of the campus, it's beautiful. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the facilities are state of the art, including a new engineering complex.

Kiko Alonso was arrested twice in college and was suspended for a year. He was given a third chance by the Ducks. He was drafted in the second round by the Bills and hasn’t had any issues in his pro career that I am aware of. What did your crystal ball say about him?
-
What exactly is your point relative to Foster? He shouldn’t have been drafted? If you can predict how every 21 or 22 year old will behave when they make it to the NFL, you have a special calling and every NFL team should be knocking down your door.
-
There is an element of risk with any player. 56 players were suspended in 2017 and half of 2018. Who would have suspected that Edelman would have been suspended for 4 games? I don’t have a crystal ball to know what Foster is going to do in the future. We’ll see.
-
Regardless of what anyone thinks about him, he was first rd draft pick and he’s played up to his billing. He made some mistakes and is paying the penalty for it. Hopefully he’s learned from it and doesn’t make the same mistakes. Bruce Smith went on to have a fine career after he was suspended and the Bills hired detectives to trail him after they suspected him of associating with a drug dealer. Other players have successfully come back from suspensions. I don’t see why Foster can’t do the same. Yeah, because smoking weed is so good for you.
-
If the Bills shouldn’t have traded Bruce Smith after he was suspended for 4 games and the Bills distrusted him so much that they had him trailed by detectives, why should the 49ers trade Foster? Curious why you have so much of a visceral dislike for Forster and why you apparently think he is unslavagable as a human being. It’s completely over the top, in my opinion. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he is going to straighten out, hopefully with the support of the 49ers.
-
And my question was should the Bills have traded Bruce Smith after he was suspended for 4 games (2x more games than Foster) and was trailed after being suspected of associating with a drug dealer? Yes or no? I am really not getting all of the animosity for Foster, especially since the Bills have no investment in him.
-
Why would the 49ers want to trade him? He was one of the top rookies last year. 56 players have been suspended in 2017 - 2018. Can you really count on any players? I bet the Pats thought that they could count on Edelman. Bruce Smith was suspended for 4 games. The Bills hired detectives to track him. Should the Bills have traded him? http://articles.latimes.com/1989-01-11/sports/sp-260_1_bruce-smith

Marquise Goodwin buys mom/sister home
Sky Diver replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills allowed it. It’s on them. “I know it is a risk,” Goodwin says. “I want a second contract. I’d love it to be in Buffalo. I love football. But I know how important it is to live your life like you want to. I know some organizations wouldn’t allow that, but Rex [Ryan] does and I’m so appreciative of that.” -
I’m sure he’s on a short leash.

Not training exclusively for football has nothing to do with freak injuries. -

When he hurt his ribs, a much larger player landed hard on top of him. His injury had nothing do with track. I’m not convinced that his football performance had anything to with track, but if it did, the Bills had options. -

Caveat emptor. If the Bills were concerned about his off-field activities, they shouldn’t have drafted him, or if they questioned his commitment to football, they should have given him an ultimatum; drop track or we are going to release you. -
Good article. Hopefully the 49ers provide Foster with the resources he needs and the latest incidents were a wake-up call for him. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.49erswebzone.com/commentary/amp-1793/

Jarvis Landry says Tyrod Taylor looks "amazing"

It’s better to look good than to feel good. -
It happens.

I’ve probably watched too many of Rodney Dangerfield’s comedy routines.

I was going to say who hasn’t, but that wouldn’t have been nice.

My son graduated from UA. He received academic scholarships and fellowships which covered his tuition and room/board. He started there when he was 16 and earned a BS/MS in Computer Science and Minors in Math and Computer-Based Honors (a nationally recognized undergraduate research program) when he was 20. His GPA was 4.0 for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He had multiple job offers before he graduated and is well employed as a software engineer with a top software company on the west coast. He graduated debt free and with substantial savings from his professional internships. His friends, who were from all over the country and were also top students, have done quite well. They are all employed or in graduate school or law school. Most were engineering students. He watched great football and received an excellent free education at Alabama, which has served him well. UA has a beautiful campus with state of the art facilities including Bryant-Denny Stadium, an incredible facility that seats about 102,000 fans. Roll Tide!

Of course not. Sometimes it’s just “Coach”.
-
Never said it was a “gold star”. Why didn’t the Bills draft him? Don’t know. They needed a CB more than a LB? He was defensive rookie of the month for November and made the all-rookie team. He’s a great player. SF got a steal.
-
We didn’t spend any draft capital on him, so it’s a moot point relative to the Bills. 56 players were suspended in 2017 - 2018 the vast majority for longer duration than Foster. Who would have expected Edelman to be suspended for PEDs? Are some players higher risk than others? Sure. Is any player risk free? I don’t think so. I don’t know what happened with the student hospital worker, but it sounds like they were both at fault. Was it cause for him to be undraftable? That’s quite a stretch. Honestly, what more needs to be said about Foster. He will serve his suspension and move on. Hopefully he’s learned some lessons and will stay out of trouble. Other than if SF plays the Bills, I’m missing how he is relevent to this forum. And if anyone wants to goad me into promoting Alabama, I’ll be happy to meet you in another forum.:) Obviously I think it’s a great place.

I don’t if you know Foster’s story, but his father shot him and his mother when he was an infant. Yet, Foster forgives him. How many people would have the fortitude to do that? That speaks to his character to me. Is he immature? Probably a bit. Has he made some bad decisions? Sure. Is he a bad guy? It doesn’t seem so. Wishing ill will on him is over the top. Do I hope he succeeds? Yes, but not because he went to Alabama, but because he is a human being.
-
Do I think Foster is permanently impaired? No. He was the signal caller and the field General for the defense. Do I think marijuana is dangerous and is a gateway drug? Yes. Do I think PEDs has any legitimate role in sports? No. Do I agree with Coach Saban that Foster is a great teammate, but not a Candy Stipper? Yes. Will Edelman get busted again for PEDs and will Foster face any more false charges? Who knows, I don’t have a crystal ball. https://youtu.be/lYaU_VSLSdA
