  1. Johnny Cockroach wasn’t available?
  2. “He coughed up the ball”. Coughing up a big glob of phlegm so bad enough, but a football? Ouch.
  3. No problem. Thanks for being a gentleman about it.
  4. One acquittal and a few convictions.
  5. I think that you are confused. Foster's bad decision, in retrospect, was with associating with the woman. It turns out that she falsely accused another guy of domestic violence previously, although Foster probably wasn't aware of that.
  6. There are probably some Armani suit wearing, Wall Street Investment bankers who are against kneeling too. I agree that sports can bring people together. We also see that it can be divisive when players take their eye of the goal.
  7. Stereotype much? You are trying to compare the behavior of individual players with a movement, which is nonsensical.
  8. Who says that they aren't upset about violent offenders?
  9. This clown got the boot. Sadly some other team will pick him up. Allegedly he punched a guy walking out of a bar in the face for no reason. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/sec/2018/07/09/alabama-dismisses-linebacker-vandarius-cowan/767932002/
  10. Who got a 2 game suspension for beating a woman? I'm surprised that you aren't blaming the University of Pittsburgh.
  11. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. That was the case with Foster. This looks like a different situation. Maybe Shady has a crazy relative or friend who was impatient with the legal process and took matters into his own hands? Shady couldn't have been dumb enough to order it during the legal proceedings.
  12. The targeting rule seems to work reasonably well in college football. How does this differ, if at all?
  13. This hurts. Next man up. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2018/07/alabama_rising_star_suffers_to.html
  14. Bryant-Denny is a really nice stadium. Here is what you are missing watching from home.
  15. Cliche: "He split the uprights"! Alternative: "The kicker’s foot struck the football at the center of percussion such that it was propelled forward at velocity 53 mph and 1400 rpm over the out stretched arms of the defensive lineman and sailed over the crossbar and bisected the vertical posts resulting in a field goal!"
  16. A lot of pundits had the Bills taking Foster in the draft. It would be interesting to know what the Bills take on him was. Aside from concerns about the off-field issues, he was coming off shoulder surgery and his style of play makes him susceptible to injuries. Plus, I think the need was greater for a CB. In the end, drafting White turned out to be a great decision.
  17. Let’s fix the problem then. We both appear to agree that Foster would have been a good pick for the Bills if they hadn’t needed a CB more than a LB and he was a great value pick at 31 for the 49ers. Do I have that right? If you separate out the cross-talk I think our views on Foster are aligned.
  18. There is no external pressure. The coaches are being patient with him while he learns. I’m sure he is putting pressure on himself because he wants to play.
  19. Put your thinking cap on. If I was a “homer”, I wouldn’t have criticized Dareus. Comparing Foster and Dareus like someone did in this thread doesn’t make any sense either. Every draft pick carries risk. Foster was a first round pick so the 49ers deemed that the risk/reward ratio was favorable. I’m not sure what’s left to be said about that. I think that pot is a dangerous gateway drug. At the very least, marijuana smoke contains toxins that are damaging to the lungs. On the other hand, I wonder what latitude law enforcement has. I think that a lecture and a stern warning would have made more sense than an arrest. That’s what I would have done if I had that option. Seems like overkill to me to arrest someone for smoking a joint and a waste of law enforcement and judicial resources. On the other hand, maybe an arrest and a suspension was what he needed to clean up his act.
  20. I recall the play. A DT flopped on him when he was down. The injury had zero to do with his training routine.
  21. Let's muddy the water. Foster was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the month for November and he made the NFL All-Rookie Team.
  22. Agreed, he would have been a good value pick but CB was a bigger need.
  23. Go and try to have a point. It makes the discussion more interesting.
  24. I was critical of Dareus when nearly everyone was defending him. I never would have never given him the $100M contract. I was ridiculed about that too. I was right about Dareus and will probably be right about Foster.
  25. "There's no love lost between these two teams", like players are supposed to hold hands and sing Kumbaya before games.
