If I’m the Bills, I take care of him for 3 yes of Pro Bowl play and being a good team guy, not cut him off at the knees. Keep his base salary the same, he stays. Cut his salary to $3.65M, he takes the $2.15M and walks. The Bills screwed up. Maybe he fired his agent because he tried to talk him out of this sweet deal.

He walked away with $1M and he didn’t take another year of pounding and the risk of being crippled. That’s not a bad deal to me.
