Why does it have to be someone's "fault"? Is this some psychological need to blame someone? You want to pillory them and fire them, will that make you feel better? Do people realize unforeseen things happen? It doesn't have to be anyone's fault. There is a large element of luck involved. This is exactly why there is the constant "need" to find a scapegoat.

Then go back to hiring and firing the HC and GM every three years if you dont get a Lombardi.. Let Buffalo slip back into a disaster of a franchise no one want to play for unless they are overpaid (Marrio Willaims) or are drafted here.

yeah, I have to agree with this. Lets be realistic. Franchise went "all in" with the Von Miller and other free agents, no one was whining about that when it happened but when it fails, head must roll. To wih a championship a la the Rams from a few years ago, it was worth the shot. Frankly if we get out of this with only one "bad" year, that is a masterful job of GM/HC or lucky.

Rousseau named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
RoyBatty is alive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
His fumble was the killer, just like last year, all his turnovers negated any shot at MVP. As far as Mixon, he got 10 first downs on Sunday, impressive for a RB, he had a great game. -
Consistency in ownership, GM and HC is an ideal to build a longstanding winning NFL team. Fortunately the Pegulas have more patience than the fan base. Beane/McD are and shouldn't go anywhere unless this a teams turns into a disaster. This year is a reset year after fixing the salary cap.

Correct, not staying in their lanes has been happening for years on the bills starting with the "Music City Miracle".

Gilliam, Davis, and Elam. Davis is a new rookie, use that excuse, Elam and Gilliam, honestly there are no excuses, now both veterans. If they cant tackle shouldn't be on special teams.

i am pretty sure Davis #21 the RB rookie should have made a tackle. -
Alpha's Week 1 recap and film review
RoyBatty is alive replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Keep in mind, he only graded the Offenses and when you score as many points as we did in the NFL, that usually gets you an A or close to it. Now the defense score and special teams, oh boy. Only the D Line gets an above average grade imo. -

Hope you are right on us getting to Tua but you have to give the little guy credit, he has super fast receivers that get open quick and he has a very fast to get rid of the ball, a la tom Brady. He doesnt need a howitzer like Allen, just deliver it quickly and on target. -

But an A+? That is spectacular territory. Cant get any higher than that, it wawn't like they had incredible "you got mossed" catches. I would give them B+/A- which is still pretty high, above average. -

Alpha's Week 1 recap and film review

Great Job Alphadawg but it seems a lot of grade inflation has seeped into here. The one I won't quibble about is Josh Allen, he was MVP caliber after that careless fumble. A+ for the receivers seems stupid high and I would like to see more throws high and outside to Coleman, he is exactly as advertised on contested catches. TEs maybe a B-. As far as Torrence, it seems he had in incredible rookies season and since then he has been spotty, he deserves a very low grade for Sunday. The entire secondary and LBers seem out of sync, we got lucky at the end with a dropped pass easily could have lost the game. Which on a very short travel week, if Miami exploits the secondary for massive gains I wont be shocked. -
Appreciation for New Kickoff Rules
RoyBatty is alive replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because I am technologically inept, I have my kids solve thins for me. I would appreciate it of you could move it. Thanks. -
Up until the game yesterday, I was adamantly against the new kickoff rules. I thought the "landing zone" was contrived and severely limits if not eliminates any onside kick. Watching the new kickoff was dreadfully boring/confusing during pre-season, but yesterday changed my mind. Kickoffs are still exciting. Granted we probably had the two longest returns to date under the new system but now if is a play I will watch and not assume it will be kicked out of the end zone. Too many NFL kickers are just too good and consistent getting touch backs. The returns and coverage will continue top evolve all year. I thought the pickup of Brandon Codington was bizarre but his one return was electric and he has already been justified imo. So we can partially eliminate the whining about McD/Beane getting players that are good on special teams. I will actually watch kickoffs more closely now. It will be interesting to see how many long returns or TDs we get in the NFL this year.

Instead of Josh Allen risking injury bulldozing or hurdling into the end zone, we should direct high contested throws to Coleman, that should be a signature play for use with his height, wingspan and physicality.

Thanks Virgil, you do a great job on this. One comment, you mentioned he threw it at someone feet, when I saw that particular play i think he was more or less just throwing it away, He he very very few balls which were simply poorly thrown. Totally agree on the J Allen MVP, I though he played an extraordinary game, especially in the second half when he, more or less, appeared to not be denied a victory, especially with those TD runs and a few key first down runs.

[Name Only Title] Tre White
RoyBatty is alive replied to Riverboat Ritchie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tre was almost universally a Bills fan favorite but injuries and time caught up to him. How the rams justified paying him $10 million is beyond my comprehension. -
Please let this be a one page zero added thread.

Hey Buffalo 716, we all GET it already, can you DROP it? Are you the self anointed Buffalo Gatekeeper?
