Aaron Rodgers talking with the Jets
RoyBatty is alive replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great scenarios, for the Bills. Underscores what happens when you don't have a viable franchise QB and you pursue this aged diva. There is this implicit assumption post Brady that playing into your 40s is now realistic. Personally, I hope the Jets wildly over pay for Rodgers and give in to all his demands. Then he comes and starts playing like an old man and complaining. Looking forward to another 5 years of Mike Greenberg complaining about the dysfunctional Jets. -

I cant wait for the NYC media to rip him apart, the media love affair in Green Bay is long gone. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
RoyBatty is alive replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maturity issues resulting in the ongoing circus now, his highly suspect injuries and not playing out last year, to me all major red flags. Also the man is either not very smart and/or excessively greedy. Who in the right mind that has millions of dollars at stake is too cheap/arrogant not to get a qualified agent to help negotiate/construct the ideal contract. So instead of netting $133 million he would only not what $130 meanwhile with a highly suspect contract that could have all sort of hidden outs for the Ravens. Classic penny wise and pound foolish. -

Nothing beyond league MVP and leading his team in rushing and passing every year. Worth is what any team will pay for him, as simple as that. You are correct, he is oft injured and a maturity issue. If he persists in insisting on being a Raven and the highest paid QB, then no team will likely bend to his wishes. -
His draft status is totally irrelevant.

Was he the guy? No wonder he left, the type of play no Pats fan or Belcihek would ever forget, they type of play after which you cant wait to go to a new team.

White trash: North Texas style

Live on the Lake? I went striped bass fishing there once, truly incredible fishing. But it was a dry county and we had to go somewhere for a beer. -

Gabe Davis is arguably the biggest disappointment from last season especially after his incredible success in the playoffs and all his drops this year. Saw many videos of his strenuous workouts so the drop-off apparently wasn't due to a lack of effort/preparation. -
2023 Early Schedule Notes & Thoughts
RoyBatty is alive replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
Big hope is the Bills at Miami is later in the year if not an evening/night matchup. Playing without the natural shade of the stadium is a wildly unfair home field advantage and it is not safe, especially for 300lb+ lineman running. The NFLPA should object to exposing players to such conditions. -
Largely depends on how much it costs the Bills to move up and get him but I agree, not a good start at all. I am fatigued with constantly picking up ok running backs high in the draft. And I think the Florida QB was incredible at the Combine and he could go or should go before Levis imo.

McDaniels is a functional idiot, when I first heard him talk I couldn't believe it, an NFL HC sounds like a dribbling dweeb. BUT ALAS, I guess I was wrong, players love playing for him, i was wrong about Tua as well, never thought he would be half as good as he is. Much like Shahnahan ruining RG3, I think there is a very high probability McDaniels does the same to Tua.

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem
RoyBatty is alive replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didnt write or infer he is "now trash" but now he has had two serious documented concussions, the Rams have a lot of holes and Stafford now has a Ring....those are all a lot of excellent reasons to retire. -
Thanks and I agree. This board is victim to incredible recency bias and groupthink. A few posters come up with an idea and suddenly is is all the rage and many accept it as gold. Another current and similar thread is we need one offensive minded head coach and also Dorsey sucks, blah blah blah.

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem
RoyBatty is alive replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the Rams are done and Stafford is old, expensive and had two concussions last year. If he hung it up it wouldnt shock me at all then the rams will really flounder. -
The Hackett Wilson/EJ comment is interesting.

IF they tag him then yes, he aint goin anywhere. Tagging him is just kicking the can down the street, buys them one economically viable year. -

I think Jones gets $40 mil plus, and I wouldn't be shocked at $45 million, to many QB desperate teams. We will have to wait and see. -
Why is Eric Bieniemy available as an OC?
RoyBatty is alive replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
O'Brien was not a pretty good HC, he was mediocre at best as HC, he was an epically bad GM. -

The Pats coaching tree joke, That is ALL you hear about down in Houston after the Bill O Brien fiasco. -

It is plausible, Rivera has had serious health issues and been around a long time, nice way for him to gracefully retire.
