Bills are the second oldest team in the NFL..........if they were about trying to develop a young talent they would have probably kept Jon Williams over Banyard, who will be 29 next we
Second oldest team in the NFL is a dramatic stat but wildly misleading, the median age for the Bills is .75 of one year above the median, borderline non-event. We are about developing young talent, that is why we have something like 19 draft picks next year, then our average will plummet.
-
According to McDermott there is no such thing as a backup on the Bills, regardless.
No Frank Gore is too old, this team is moving forward, rather try and develop a young talent, Gore would command a vet pay scale, isnt worth it. I dont see how getting a RB 5 years older than the one we are worried about (Shady) getting hurt solves anything.

Looking at the "Nike Apparel" section at the Bills store accessible through their website, I would say this new gray old school hoody is right in line with a bunch of other stuff currently available from Nike.
Give it a few days; I bet it shows up on the website; highly doubt it was manufactured as a custom one-off for the coach or team members only.
It could be "exclusive" for team members only..that is until they get enough demand for them
-
I called the Bills and asked them about that hoodie today. It is a sideline exclusive, not for sale (at least not at this time).
Good ole Russ Brandon, get em begging to pay for wildly overpriced merchandise

The saying is "inmates run the Asylum" not "inmates run the prison".
The NFL, and our society today for that matter, has come an asylum fuel by mass communication. Too much news, too much tweeting, too much political correctness, too much sensitivity.
It has now become vogue to accuse people of being racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobic, islamophobic, you name it. In 25 years this will behavior will hopefully have faded away and will look like the McCarthy days in the 50's when people were unjustly accused of being communists. We are approaching the "anything goes" era.
Great post but 25 years, oh my god no i cant take 25 years. Part of the reason you have trump is people are already feed up with it.

Terry and the Inmates
Gotta give you credit for that one

Well, it depends on your perspective. Words and phrases are not currency, and cannot simply be removed from the lexicon. On the other hand, it's nice to evolve so I think over time this tends to happen anyways. And personally I get a little antsy when someone suggests words and phrases that will no longer be tolerated (with of course some notable exceptions). That has a sorta 70s Cambodia feel to me.
I guess at my core I think that sticks and stones can break my bones but words can rarely hurt me.
That still doesn't address the main point, which is this: if McNair did not direct the comments toward the players, the whole issue is silly, isn't it? People may be upset and outraged over something that never occurred in the manner it was reported. That sort of manipulation does not further the dialogue, it's does not contribute to the greater good and should at least be considered.
Great post. As it is right now is is only 15 minutes of Bradshaw and Strahan et al lecturing race relations.
Every owner is now on notice, you better watch EVERY word you utter, every single one. Forget about context, think of every word and or phase you utter and how it will play in the media.
BTW We need to no longer call them "owners", that is a term smacks of slavery.
-
Now was it some light ribbing or a super serious commentary? This clearly has you upset without it effecting the actual game, so if players sit I was teasing youd be super upset.
And of course you wouldnt watch. Itd be 6 hours of Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan debating race relations if players boycotted the game unexpectedly.
If the players really are so grossly offended and are so righteous, stop yapping and stand up for what you believe, boycott the games, I hope they do.
Lets just get it over with already. blow the whole thing up.

Nothing like listening to Sal and Leo talk over each other and expound upon the obvious.

Calvin Johnson was a class act and good guy, never bitched about being stuck in Detroit, didnt B word enough about that obscene CalvinJohnson rule.....I dont understand why people cant respect his decision to retire.

.....nicely done......thanks for the input bud..................
Thanks,
I really am all in on this GM-HC, three years from now is when we can really judge them. 4-2 i think is a bit of a fluke, borderline miracle but it sure is a nice surprise.
Except that we didn't run him out of town. He begged to get out.
You are correct, no one ran him out of town unless you want to blame the Hamburg police. What ML missed something like 12 OTAs, when he did show up he was 10-20 lbs overweight and slow. He wanted nothing to do with WNY.

....sure it's all on paper now, but how do you assess the credentials of this FO/administration/coaching staff since the Polian era?.......and what credentials post Polian were similar that piqued your interest and possible optimistic outlook to end the 17 year schneid if any?...............
1) Most important is they had chemistry and are actually WORKING TOGETHER. When was the last time we didn't have an over the Hill (Marv Levy, Gailey and Buddy Nix), unqualified (Wilson-Brandon), lazy and not comitted for the long haul (Rex, Mularkey, Marrone) or someone hard to work with (Whaley, Marrone, Gregg Williams).
2) They actually have a plan and thus far, have the discipline to stick to it despite all the whining from fans (oh my God Sammy is gone ohwoe is me). Dareus HAD to go, it is a miracle they got out from most of that contract. This is a sign for all Bills and future Bills, this is serious about disicpline, and "trust the process".
3) I applaud every move they have made, (this Dareus move is a master stroke) except for Tolbert over Williams and extended Wood...Ducasse & keeping Mills I am possibly change my stance.
4) Both GM and HC were Prgual's picks, now slighglty seasoned owners in the NFL, no inherited HC or GM anymoer These are both THEIR picks, I think they realize they cant be the Cleveland Browns and change every two years. This is their team and I think they let them rub things the way they see fit.
-
This is what happens during a rebuild, especially when new coaches and gm are brought in. This is not unique. The 49ers and Browns have been shedding players for a couple years now, some of them quite good.
Do people not realize that we were losing with all those players? Our team looks completely different and is winning games without them. I think McD and Beane deserve the benefit of the doubt.
They deserve more than the benefit of the doubt, they deserve three years., i hope really real hard we found a GM and HC that are going to be together a long long time.

I guess a lot. Terry Pegula, "All we are dong is clearing out the inmates"

You have so much to say I guarantee if one of those "muscle bound retards" were within 100 feet of you you would be quiet as a church mouse unless you were begging for an autograph. These are men who smash into other men in person not talk tough over the internet behind a psuedo name and an icon. The owners understand what you are not bright enough to understand which is if this is not handled properly then you wont be having games on sundays at all. If you really have so much to say I can tell you where you can have the chance to run your mouth to one of the "inmates" in person so someone in their circle can quickly put YOU in your place.
Yep, the owners are handling this real well so far. Now EVERY word they say is going to micro-analyzed, great position to be in.
And what you want to give the poster your super secret address where the players hang out so he can go up insult them and they punch him out, ROFLMAO.

See the thing is... there are places I go to talk about social issues. When it comes to football, I see nothing but talking points and bad political discourse. There's never been a comment I've seen in a football forum that's helped reshape the way I feel about a social topic. That's not even saying that I'm actively trying to be close-minded or that I'm being difficult, it's just this isn't the proper mechanism for it. We're more divided now than ever before and some of us watch football to get away from that.
Bingo, 100% spot on.
We are more divided now than we have ever been, absolutely true. All this rhetoric is NOT go to change any hearts or minds, anyone idealistically naive enough to believe this will be sadly disappointed.

You know, there are an awful lot of racist NFL fans. No kidding.
And a lot of racist NFL players, of both colors, so what is your point?
-
If it is true thank God.

Terrible Logan, so sorry, , beautiful name Brooklyn Rose.

Call Kap's bluff: make him the Browns starting QB this Sunday.
I'll bet he decides to "focus on social change" instead of his playing career
LOL this would be pretty good. The Cleveland Police Union refused to hold the flag at the stadium and called the Browns protest "ignorant".

Please just dont put a punter (Moorman ) up there, he is no Ray Guy..that era was embarrassing enough

First question out of the gate............and yes, it's over 30 seconds with Preston's responses.
Sounds like his teammates are rolling balls down the OBD hallways for him to recover. That's at least funny.
He carries his own logo'ed lunchbox to work every day. Breakfast and lunch are loaded in there.
Short and sweet. Karma
So I guess not much came out of the interview
I dont know of that was a setup but if it wasn't, what a rude arrogant, little twerp Jim Rome was, everytime I see this i am hoping for a different outcome, Everett pounds the hell out of Rome which is what he deserved. Sad thing is I think this catapulted Rome's career.

I'd love the move, however this website looks iffy at best.

I was being facetious that Russ Brandon would use it as a marketing ploy, getting people talking about it and generate some interest in them
