A lot of occupations involve risks, a lot of occupations we learn more and more about the risk every year. The NFL is no different. Was the knowledge out there that football could cause mental issues, yes it certainly was. Do we know more today, yes and well will know even more about the risk 10 years from now, just about the time the lawyers fees are too big and they outlaw football.

June 2007 - The NFL holds a medical conference on concussions. August 14, 2007 - The NFL formalizes new concussion guidelines which include a telephone hotline to report when a player is being forced to play contrary to medical advice. Le Ron started playing in NFL 2007, the risks were known. Even when i was a kid everyone knew like a boxer you can end up with serious mental issues, the entire stereotype of the dumb football player.

Very sad. I dont think the NFL game as we currently know it wil be around in 20 years, wont be close. It will be like watching the pro bowls. Sooner than that States are going to start outlawing high school football, former college players will start suing schools. Harsh but true. One might be able to say in years past the NFL hide it for years but current players are more than aware of the real risks. My father worked at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years, in the blast furnace, got lung cancer with all the iron ore and crap in the air. There was no glorification of him working in 100 degree heat and outrageous compensation.

2019 Head Coach Firings

Good point, I forgot about Clowney, I think they have handled it incredibly bad. Even if Clowney stays he cant be happy with how he was treated and now everyone knows they want to trade him. -

I think Bill O'Brien is in jeopardy. They have not properly addressed their O Line (except for a Rd one development tackle from Alabama State) , which was as bad if not worse than ours, and already lose their starting RB because 2 linemen on one play missed blocks to allow a NT free shot at Lamar Miller. Deshaun Watson will be running for his life again, terrible waste imo. Texans division is now theirs for the taking with the departure of Andrew Luck, they dont make the playoffs this year I think he is in trouble. They don't have a gm this year, be an opportunity for the new GM they hire (odds are it is Nick Caerio from the Pats) to select his/her own coach. -

The great myth of Gregg Williams and his incredible pressure defense persists. He was innovative and bold, years ago. He is just recycling his old schemes. Plenty of tape out there on old Gregg and his defense. -
I will tentatively agree with you on Daryl Johnson and Sweeney, as far as value, they may be our best picks. Daryk Johnson has a lot, lot of upside potnetial, deens to gain some weight and technique. Singletray i think was ok and Knox we haven't really seen him do anything yet. Oliver and Ford will be around for a while, more impressed with Ford sop far than Oliver. Have not seen enough of Vosean or Jaquon Johnson to for an opinion yet. Vosean might be on his way to the practice squad, if he does he might not clear the waiver wire. One person you didnt mention although we didn't draft him is Ryan Bates. It looks like he may develop into a real NFL center, we picked him up for next to nothing. Obviously some incredibly "wise" poster is going to strongly admonish us for not waiting until after all these guys retire to really determine if they were any good. that is nothing compared to the lectures about how it has only been two pre season games and you can only judge a draft after there years, blah blah blah.

Fine but About half the NFL coaches would go before McDermott if they went 4-12 so to put him at #1 is asinine, imo. You think Jason Garret or Maronne would survive 4-12, aint not way. The only coaches that would be safe would be yr one coaches and some of them would be vulnerable. I think if the Bils went 4-12, depending how badly, McDermott would survive.

Ryan Bates looked great at center against Panthers

Why Mitch Morse was so critical this year, J Allen has enough one his plate, expecting him to make line calls consistently is asking too much at this point imo. -
there is an elegant solution, instead of cutting him outright put him on IR for the year, Yeah might be correct. I also think the Cardinals with a rookie QB that I am not a fan of and goofy arse head coach could be in the running as well. Be a thing of beauty to watch the Cardinals picks a QB rd #1 three years in a rwo.

I would be happy with same lat picks for out too many TEs and WRs (never thought I would say that a year ago).
