Rex, imo, was way below average by the time he go to the Bills. He either got fat and lazy and/or was checked out long before he got to WNY. Rex could never adapt to the modern NFL, he never advanced his formerly winning Defense and he could NOT adabpt the defense to the current players the Bills had. The classic was when Rex, after being a NFL head coach in the NFL for 7 years blurted out (tried to use it as an excuse that backfired at least to me) he didnt know how the NFL replay system worked. That was after that embarrassing fiasco of his missed replays he should have reviewed and the poor replays he choose to review which he didnt get down. That was the KC game if that Rex knew about proper clock management and how to review plays the Bills could have easily won. After that game I found his bombastic ego driven press conferences no longer humorous simply irritating. And then to seal his WNY football legacy, Rex coerced the Pegulas into hiring the busted fat slob of a failure brother that got fired from coaching the worst defense in the NFL to come join the Bills as a third "defensive guru (Rex, our then DC and his fat slob brother).

Those are all EXCELLENT points BUT you miss two critical factors: 1) Rex never made the playoffs, we made it 2 out of 3 with McD 2) Mcd/Beane came in with a long term plan, the "process", that was bound to have short term pain...they took a lot of grief from many fans when they jettisoned players they didnt feel like where part of the plan notably Marcel Dareus. This really hurt on the salary cap front but the Bills have now worked their way out of it. So what team was better positioned to succeed and go deep in the playoffs, the 2020 Bills or the Bills under Rex in the following year?

A "Wildcat Strike" By The NFLPA Coming?

The NBA and Lebron are both hypocrites, I recall they wanted to fire Daryl Morey of the Rockets for having the unashamed gall to call out the Chinese on Hong Kong and tweeted "Fight For Freedom and Stand with Hong Kong". Or course he was humiliated into submission and forced to apologize. . The NBA’s two-year ratings tank just took tanking up another notch. As pointed out last night, year-over-year, the first round of the playoffs was down an eye-popping 27%. Furthermore, the first round’s 1.94 million average is down 40% from two seasons ago, the last time LeBron James participated in the playoffs. https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/ -

Why is Joe Namath in the HOF?
RoyBatty is alive replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it says a lot more about how professional football has evolved over time. Namath took more brutal hits in one year than Brady has taken in 20. The game has been wildly skewed in favor of the receivers and QBs. 400 yard games used to be a rarity, one for the history books, now they happen multiple times a year. -
Why is Joe Namath in the HOF?
RoyBatty is alive replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is not accurate at all. It wasnt just "one game", in fact in the Super Bowl he wasnt great. For a couple of years, for HIS TIME and ERA, Namath was one of the best quarterbacks. He was a two time AFL MVP, a four time all star..he was drafted 1st for a reason, AFL rookie of the year then years later AFL comeback player of the year. -
A "Wildcat Strike" By The NFLPA Coming?

I didnt know that, next negotiations the networks are sure as hell going to consider this. And the competition among the Networks have been intense TOO DATE but things change. Who would have predicted the salary cap would decrease this year, very few, almost universally it was expected to keep going up. Networks aren't stupid and aren't charities, if they perceive risk to a players stoppage you can bet anything they will adjust DOWN their bids. You might want to also look at the profitability of the networks, not good. Technology is rapidly evolving and changing the business model. ESPN viewership is way down, and things arent getting any better. Since the return of basketball the ratings have been in a steady decline according to Forbes. A recent Harris poll had 39% of respondents said they are watching fewer games, 32% said more and 28% about the same. Of those watching less, 39% said the NBA has gotten too political, 19% because of the NBA-Chinese connection and 28% said it was boring without fans. That is where I am at, sports is entertainment, if I want to hear about societal problems I will watch the news. -
If You Could Take One Bill to Lunch...

Thurman's fumble lost the second Cowboy Super Bowl for the Bills, i was there for that one and pretty much knew we were going to lose after that play. -
Yeah everything NEw England does is the way to go for sure. So who was the wild child Defensive Tackle the Patriots signed in the past, Albert Haynesworth. How did that work out? Dareus is such a great gem and New England is so smart, why dont they sign Dareus to replace the one and only Beau Allen?
