Ed Oliver vs Quinnen Williams

Assuming he comes back, wouldnt shock me at all if he retires and if Covid is still raging, being his size,, and the amount he has made, i certainly wouldnt blame him. -

Harrison Philips? Ehh he was much better last year, not the same post injury. -

Well with Covid coming up Beane et al should have been prepared for players opting out, this was a bad/risky year to spend so close to cap limits. Is that 20/20, yes but it is also very pragmatic. -
Do we really? Singletary was very good last year, and this year we actually have a NFL level passing attack. What we need is a better offensive line, especially by the guards.

Star opted out in July, should have been adequately addressed back then. JMHO -
JJ Watt Trade Block?

Wrong. Actually try reading my post before you spout off. " I dont want him for what it would cost us." -

Coaches & Beane deserve the blame on this one big time. He was small to begin with, too small to play 1-tech consistently. -
He was particularly obnoxious ;listening to him lecture on and on during the Texans-Titans game. An he totally missed Vrabel's little trick of getting the clock stopped (without a timeout) with too many men on the field. Want to see a bad lineup, look at the first two games they have for Thanksgiving, Texans-Lions, Cowboys-Washington.

JJ Watt Trade Block?
RoyBatty is alive replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL. ok, I guess we need to add that to about half the titles of threads because after all there is no speculation here. Again the question mark is there for a reason, some comprehend it, others apparently don't.. -
2--2 Of the 4, NYJ 95% win probability, Pats 50%, Seahawks 10% Cardinals 50% We are going to find out versus the Pats how good McDermott really is. We have the better teams, they mst likely have the better coaching/system. A very interesting match-up. Pats win suddenly they are back in the AFCE. That play was really really bad. Someone had to have missed a block

JJ Watt Trade Block?

Maybe you should read the title again. "JJ Watt Trade Block?" Do you realize there is a question mark there, do you know what that signifies? -

JJ Watt Trade Block?

As much as the Texans management is hated now, that hatred would double if the traded JJ W for Murohy and a 4th, heck i would love a trade like that. -
Trevor Lawrence Advised to Avoid Jets
RoyBatty is alive replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they really though in half a season they could turn Darnold around to lead them for a Super Bowl run then yes...in other words a long shot. -
Ah yes. To the man that can always find a camera, JJ Watt says he want to bring a championship to Houston and that remains his goal. His comments are going to start phones ringing off the hook on Kirby Drive. JJ Watt is 31 years old and the prospects of the Texans winning a championship[ this year are unbelievably low with a 1-5 record. The Texans future has largely been demolished with three potential superstars careers being wasted to date, De Andre Hopkins, Deshaun Watson and Watt. Only Hopkins has gotten away with one of the most epically bad trades in NFL history. The future for the Texans is not bright at all, the football "guru" Bill O 'Brien traded away both first two picks in 2021 so the Texans 2020 demise accrues to the Dolphins. And I also believe the Mcnair ownership legacy has been a failure. The odds of the Texans puilling out of their tail spin are likely far beyond the playing horizon of Watt. The desperate need for quality D Line play in Buffalo is obvious and Watt might be convinced with him, his leadership and his ego, the Bills could go deep in the playoffs. I dont disagree but I also dont want JJ here for what it would cost. Watt is in a demi-God status in Houston. The Houston fan base remains enraged over the Hopkins trade and trading away the face of the franchise will be very costly, must likely to a team like the Bills, the Texans would demand a #1 at least. To me that is too high for his remaining productivity and his recent injury history. Would it be worth if it it got us to the Super Bowl, much less win one, I would say absolutely but I dont like the risk/reward.

Are we still a 9-7 team?
RoyBatty is alive replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am down big time right now on the Bills but I think it is overkill. Bills are at least as good as the Pats, i think a split there is more reasonable. Also we can beat both the 49ers and Cardinals, plus there will be games we win in upsets. Overall i think 9-7 or 10-6 is more reasonable -
The worst Fraser play design was the 3 and 19 versus the Texans in the playoffs, there were no Bill defenders from the line of scrimmage with defenders apparently protecting the field 15 yards downfield, in others words give an offense start 15 of the 19 yards and assume you can stop him. Well of course that was a 20 yards play.

A lot of people want to be in denial but the last two games where the harsh realization the Bills are not a great team, good team yes. -
ROCKPILE REVIEW - Evolution
RoyBatty is alive replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am ready to call Oliver a bust and small for DT, Hughes is old & a one trick pony, Philips & Murphy sat for valid reason, Espenoza is also small and we might have the worst starting guards in the NFL. Both our trenches are laughable. I am about ready to pack it in on both Edmunds & Ford, they need a couple more years til they are ready. Oh I can, quite easily. Last night felt like an old Pats-Buf game when Belichek decided not to run up the score, just do enough absent one fluke play, they still when. After mid Q3 we need multiple breaks to get back in the game. There are no 9 point fluke plays in the NFL. -
ROCKPILE REVIEW - Evolution

A lot of good points. Yes Singletary (i would argue not Moss) could have gotten 200 yards behind the KC O line running against the Bills D. O Line and its coaching is dreadful. Good observation about Dabol; when he is out of answers he resorts to QB designed runs, let Allen take the beating and that is no long term answer. But I disagree, the Bills were not in this game from start to finish..yes maybe score wise by by the mid Q3 KC was solidly in control. I think the Poyer & White roughness penalties was a manifestation of the frustration. Same with Diggs and his borderline benchable attitude and penalty...that was the action of a defeated loser. Yes after 4 weeks people were talking about Allen being an MVP and the Bills in the Super Bowl, getting our arse handed to us two weeks in a row was an incredible humbling. And yes I think KC handed us our arse. Even great teams get blown out, look at Green Bay this weekend. But we have had it done to us twice in a row. Last night was enough evidence for me that the Bills are a good team, not a great team, a good team. I think we are on about the same level as the 2-3 New England Patriots, so in my mind that is not half bad. So now we have some adversity, this team is supposed to be built on character, are we going to Trust the process? Bills have arguably the worst team in the NFL coming up, the Jets. At some point the Jets could win a game, I would bet they are looking at a short week for the Bills on a two game skid thinking this could be our shot. After next week versus the Jets no excuses. -

Depressing but accurate. Good thing we are going up against one of the best offenses in the NFL, on our defense: "The defensive line was just late on pressures. The linebackers could not shed blocks, take good angles, tackle fundamentally or cover. The defensive backs played back or were slow afoot" In other words we sucked at all three levels.
