Romo as full time Brady apologist...
RoyBatty is alive replied to Jamie Mueller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find Weiss borderline unlistenable, he has a a terrible slow plodding voice for radio as it is. And he constantly interjects who he knows like referring to Brady as "Tommy" is typical for him. And yes he is a blowhard. -
Romo as full time Brady apologist...
RoyBatty is alive replied to Jamie Mueller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He sure did. I think Romo got too full of himself as a commentator, read too many of his press clippings, now he think he is the self appointed expert on the game. He has to to learn temper and modulate himself. -
You have to love people that have an apparent need to declare themsleves "victor" in an anonymour meaningless chatroom. "You got to love people who not only insist on being wrong, but can't even do their own homework and demand others do it for them." I stand by what I quoted, and says nothing about being in/out of the pcoket " Any physical acts against a player who is in a passing posture (i.e. before, during, or after a pass) which, in the Refereeβs judgment, are unwarranted by the circumstances of the play will be called as fouls. A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee" By your logic anytime a QB moves outside the pcoket and then sets up to throw a pass defenders can take them out at the knees. If that were true half the QBs would be on IR by now. You dont take out QBs knees unless you want to risk a penalty, they will call that everytime. Disagree if you want, fine by me.

Disagree. Show me where "it is written". "Any physical acts against a player who is in a passing posture (i.e. before, during, or after a pass) which, in the Refereeβs judgment, are unwarranted by the circumstances of the play will be called as fouls." "A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him." Says NOTHING about being in the pocket.

The Art of Defending the Hail Mary
RoyBatty is alive replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean on the hail mary? From what I saw the charger made several "football moves" before he dropped the ball, he must have had 7=-8 steps with the ball in control so it would be a fumble recovered the Charger regardless. -

Hitting Too Low One of the NFL's newer rules is often called "The Brady Rule" as it was added after a season-ending injury to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in 2008. This rules states that a defensive player who hits a quarterback below the knees when one or two feet are on the ground will be penalized for a personal foul and a 15-yard penalty. The hit must be above the knee to be legal. This penalty is often called on pass rushers who are blocked to the ground, but they continue to scramble toward quarterback and end up hitting him below the knee, exposing him to serious injury. When I saw the Tre play i thought for sure he was going to get flagged, I didnt see any Oliver infraction, think that was a ref mis speaking.

Cowboys S&C Coach passes away, RIP

Maybe the above post before yours is accurate and the coach passed, so cancelling makes sense, that would be the civilized response. -
Week 12: Chargers at Bills
RoyBatty is alive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes the Pats-Ravens game at then end was absurd and i have not seen conditions that bad before. They actually delayed the Texans-=Brown kickoff as the same front moved in. Yes i would doubt conditions will be anything close to that for the Chargers. What is the weather forecast right now? -
Week 12: Chargers at Bills
RoyBatty is alive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow that is a very macho/tough guy statement for a guy on the internet. Look at the Ravens-Pats game...the Ravens are a much better team but those conditions were laughable, the better team did not win that game. -
Week 11 MNF: LA Rams at TB Bucs, 8:15 ET
RoyBatty is alive replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Rams can be dominant on football. If Aaron Donald has a great game I expect that Rams to win and it might be an easy win. When under p[pressure as we all know, Brady now is folding quicker than ever, look at the fiasco of a game he had versus the Saints. If the Rams defense shows up the Bucs will fold. If not, I expect a shootout in a very good game. -

Is the NFL Better than Ever Today?
RoyBatty is alive replied to May Day 10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think the NFL has improved, not from a spectators point of view, from a players, yes. From a spectators point of view imo it has gotten worse. Players cant hit as they used to and QBs, especially marquis names like Brady, have been grossly overprotected. And the NFL and its absurd rules about what a "catch" is. A catch is like porn, you know it when you see it, it is difficult, i would say impossible for the NFL to try and "legislate" every single aspect of what a catch is esp when you have multiple camera angles in frame by frame analysis if you want. I appreciate the safety aspect of the game but with all the legal ramifications, i fear the NFL is going to slowly morph into "non-violent" pro bowl like game. As far as player "shelf life" when was the last time we ha dueling QBs in the 40s matched up against each other. Qbs can last a very long time with the current rules. Jack Kemp took more brutal hits in one year than Brady has taken his entire pro career. -
i could say one word...coaching.

Buffalo playoff probability....
RoyBatty is alive replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a FUTURIST you sure have dreadful predictions. The Dolphins won both of their game you predicted they would get blown out. The Dolphins are a six win team are they? i guess that means they will lose every remaining game including the Broncos, Jets and, and Bengals. Tua must be real real lucky as you claimed he would be lucky to win any of his next four games and he won 2 already. As i wrote at the end of Oct our last game versus the Dolphins might determine the winner of the AFC east.
