  1. AH yes, the future, it will be there for sure. Aint no guarantees in that. Besides they have already done that this year, cant keep doing it.
  2. You endanger the entire system when you start advocating to borrow money when revenue starts declining. One thing the NFL has largely done is struck parity, uber-rich owners can't buy a team like they can do in baseball. Not all owners financial situations are the same, you start tacking on debt and if revenue doesnt accelerate, some owners are going to get in financial trouble. There is no guarantee the cap will go up in the future, especially with the plight of the sports media with declining viewership and advancing technology. Just look at the state of the mighty ESPN.
  3. Living in Houston I could go on and on about the Texans. You are correct, the Texans have been very loyal to a fault with HCs. How they let O'Brien secure HC and GM at the same time was an historic blunder only to be followed by one of the worst trades in NFL history, the departure of D Hopkins. The McNair ownership has/continues to be brain dead. Ownership is "too nice", they will hang on to players that are "good people" for far too log and a prime example of that is the over-paid Mercilus. The t worst was hanging on to David Carr way too long and never protecting him. David Carr was a nice family man, church goer and McNari loved him. Problem with Carr (besides no O Line) was his heart was not really into it. Carr was always one of the first men out of the facility and last men in, exactly what you dont want from your QB/leader.
  4. Yes I think Fuller is part of a new house cleaning, starting with the GM/HC.....the only solid survivor is going to be Deshaun Watson. Even the demi-God JJ Watt is expendable, most Texans fans down here have a high emotional attachment to him and many want him to have an opportunity to get a ring, highly unlikely with the post Bill O Brien era.
  5. How? Where is the $ going to come from? The finances of the NFL are not bullet /recession/covid proof. This mentality that the salary cap can increase every year inexorably has been, imo, horribly flawed. It took this year for it to be realized.
  6. Obviously. As I said, a win is a win. Be it by 1 or double digits doesn't matter to me. But if you want to discuss qualitatively/analytically, one has to recognize the Chargers decision making was laughable at the end. A lengthy huddle and running the ball with under a minute and no time outs or how about the last beautiful play of the game, Herbert went in a for QB sneak while the O Line appeared to be setting up for pass protection. Yes we won by double digits but we were assisted. If I am on Charger fan i say we lost by double digits due to our own inherent bad decisions.
  7. Excuses? No excuses for either team, we won the game, a win is a win, period. B
  8. It was a terrible decision on the part of Allen, he seemed to regress on that play. He was under duress falling backwards..he had the lead with time running down...that was the EXACT scenario you take a sack or with his arm strength throw it away.
  9. I cant recall a more universally despised NFL HC than Adam Gase, amazing how he keeps his job.
  10. I forgot that. On most hail marys there are typically a large number of potential pass interference calls both on offensive and defense which are rarely called..
  11. Ok i cant recall, what is the third besides Arazona and yesterday?
  12. The NFL and its asinine rules, the "taunting " is another one. Where does one draw the line between a "celebration" and "taunting". The NFL and its asinine rules, the "taunting " is another one. Where does one draw the line between a "celebration" and "taunting".
  13. I find Weiss borderline unlistenable, he has a a terrible slow plodding voice for radio as it is. And he constantly interjects who he knows like referring to Brady as "Tommy" is typical for him. And yes he is a blowhard.
  14. He sure did. I think Romo got too full of himself as a commentator, read too many of his press clippings, now he think he is the self appointed expert on the game. He has to to learn temper and modulate himself.
  15. Do you want to keep beating a dead horse about it? Already stated my position, if you cant comprehend it fine by me.
  16. Well that is true, it is also "garbage" to boast that we won by double digits but that is just my opinion. And i recall the garbage time to end the Arizona game as well.
  17. You have to love people that have an apparent need to declare themsleves "victor" in an anonymour meaningless chatroom. "You got to love people who not only insist on being wrong, but can't even do their own homework and demand others do it for them." I stand by what I quoted, and says nothing about being in/out of the pcoket " Any physical acts against a player who is in a passing posture (i.e. before, during, or after a pass) which, in the Referee’s judgment, are unwarranted by the circumstances of the play will be called as fouls. A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee" By your logic anytime a QB moves outside the pcoket and then sets up to throw a pass defenders can take them out at the knees. If that were true half the QBs would be on IR by now. You dont take out QBs knees unless you want to risk a penalty, they will call that everytime. Disagree if you want, fine by me.
  18. I appreciate the optimism but the fact we beat them by "double digits" imo is one of the most meaningless stats of all time. They missed an extra point and were stopped at the one yard line as time expired, it was hardly felt like a "double digit " type win in the last 4 minutes of the game.
  19. Disagree. Show me where "it is written". "Any physical acts against a player who is in a passing posture (i.e. before, during, or after a pass) which, in the Referee’s judgment, are unwarranted by the circumstances of the play will be called as fouls." "A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him." Says NOTHING about being in the pocket.
  20. You mean on the hail mary? From what I saw the charger made several "football moves" before he dropped the ball, he must have had 7=-8 steps with the ball in control so it would be a fumble recovered the Charger regardless.
  21. How do you know if he isn't on the yacht deck typing away?
  22. Hitting Too Low One of the NFL's newer rules is often called "The Brady Rule" as it was added after a season-ending injury to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in 2008. This rules states that a defensive player who hits a quarterback below the knees when one or two feet are on the ground will be penalized for a personal foul and a 15-yard penalty. The hit must be above the knee to be legal. This penalty is often called on pass rushers who are blocked to the ground, but they continue to scramble toward quarterback and end up hitting him below the knee, exposing him to serious injury. When I saw the Tre play i thought for sure he was going to get flagged, I didnt see any Oliver infraction, think that was a ref mis speaking.
  23. Tre's hit was not legal and was right to have been called, defenders cant go for QBs legs, period, those will be called almost every time.
  24. Yeah exactly where are you hearing such rumors?
