  1. LOL. You fail to understand that a civil case is as much an economic decision as anything else. Settling out of court is NOT an admission of guilt. And no settling out of court and not "clearing his name" doesnt mean "he is done", whatever crap that means. Yea no team will sign him, do i have the right? He settles out of court quickly and this will be nothing more than a trivia question on his wikipedia page.
  2. Nice try but no. You wrote if Watson settles "we will know the truth", now you change it to "publics eyes he is guilty", that is a huge difference. Public perception versus whether or not has is lying. And those are YOUR assumptions about the public perception, sounds like that is yours and I already stated why he might not want to spend the time and money to "clear his name". A trial could turn into a media hanging circus with every girlfriend or and lady Watson has ever interatecd with.
  3. Defending? I defended no one but i think it is naive and shallow to blame everyone for the Bills demise, esp Overdorf that is essentially a glorified accountant. So why are you ATTACKING everyone in the organization even with people that were not the primary decision makers.. So you are upset and angry they had a losing stretch, get over it already. Did i defend the primary decision makers, not at all.
  4. Sorry but you could be further from reality, that is NOT the way lawsuits work. If Watson settles it might just mean instead of spending hours/days in discovery & court and a $100,000 legal bill he pays here lawyer $50k to go away. And no if she drops it doesnt mean she was lying, maybe she doesnt want to relieve the experience in public. And for both of them to make it go away may have nothing to do with this particular incident but they might be fearful of what the other side might find out in discovery and what the press would do with it, a lot of people have skeletons in the closet they dont want opened.
  5. He is tailor made for the Pats. An incredibly accurate pocket passer system qb. Not much of a runner but not something Belichek is looking for. Give him a few years with Josh McDaniels and he could be the real deal.
  6. 7-9 does have its advantages, They can draft a QB . I think they go Mac Jones if he is still available.
  7. LOL. Wow, seem to have a lot of anger regarding this. So yeah, go ahead and criticize EVERYONE in the organization, right down to the receptionist, NO ONE contributed anything remotely successful for 17 years!!! Unless you worked at OBD or sat down with him over a contract you have ZERO knowledge of how Overdorf did his job but he is a convenient whipping boy.
  8. Overdorf is wildly over criticized here and now the OP is actually praising him BUT NO Overdorf was not responsibl;e for putting us in cap hell nor does he deserve some credit for our current situation.. People fail to understand Overdof is no much more than an accountant, he is a facilitator. He is not responsible for the excesses we had in the past, it was largely the GMs fault. I recall when people when ballistic when I think it was Nix that said he would leave the contract for Mario up to others. You dont want your gm spending hours in contract negotiations, you leave that up to the experts like Overdorf.
  9. So happens to be our position in the NFL this year.
  10. When you are at the Bills current level, each and every game becomes critical for playoff positioning, homes games etc. I would hate to think we get knocked down a notch in the playoff seating because we have QBs starting that have never taken an NFL snap. J Allen runs a lot and does get hurt, it wouldn't shock me if he is out for a few weeks in mid-season. The Bills can afford a decent seasoned backup, it is not a position you just "write" off the second string...do that at other positions.
  11. He might be but you are correct, it would be stupid expensive. Thuney was the only guy Belischek franchised last year so tagging him again gets ridiculosly expensive.
  12. Actually I have to give it to WGR callers for worst opinions.
  13. Thanks, great intel/opinion. I think we at least try to sign Daryl Williams if we can get a reasonable contract which given the salary cap hell of many teams I think it is possible. Webb/Fromm, interesting but I dont see it. Total inexperience at backup QB. Yes Webb has been around but his snaps in the NFL, actually for both of them, zero. Feliciano is all but done imo, no brainer and has already said he wants to come back. I sure hopes he plays better than he did versus the Chiefs. Drafting a RB for the third year in a row would be an admission of failure.
  14. I was not "disappointed" with the article, first and foremost i was impressed Hammers Lot got in the NYT. That is why I posted to begin with. If was, if anything, disappointed in the, to me obvious agenda the author took. Your quotes were very, I hate to say it, politically correct, well measured, thoughtful with a tinge of humor. I actually thought well done. Another lesson to me is you can not trust the "press" any more, they have an agenda they will run with it. Did you read it? What were your thoughts? When i used to be quoted by the media it was a different era, it wasnt all agenda or computer click driven.
  15. Maybe he is just lazy and didn't go to Oklahoma State on an academic scholarship.
  16. Pretty good, I would be ok with that, addresses most of your glaring needs. Another TE from Mississippi? Didnt we just try that? Hard to believe Najee Harris lasts almost til rd 3 but RB is certainly been de-emphasized lately.
  17. No. Yes written tongue and check this is a good post by OP. So he got on two Super Bowl winning teams. Do you think Shady was the driving force in those wins, or even materially contributed? Can we please stop with the bizarre love affair we have with certain ex-Bills, most notably Ryan Fitzpatrick..
  18. I didnt realize i had to be so preceise so let me re-phrase. I should have written "most Rbs are a dime a dozen" but as I said If I were the Bills i would jump through hoops to get McCaffrey for our pick #30.
  19. I wasnt referrring what Dell said or was quoted, i was talking about the article en toto. A lot on drinking and table smashing and vehement Bills fans but NOTHING at all about all the good Bills Mafia has done. I thought the article was slanted so as to be the most outrageous and no put give the Mafia a fair shake.
  20. Now how is some "genius" going to twist this around to infer that Allen might be traded?
  21. Speaking of tailgate lots, i forgot to mention that a few days before the Bills-Chiefs playoff game the sports section of the New York Times quoted Eric Matwijow, aka the Hammer of Hammer's Lot. Story talked a lot about the Bills mafia but i was disappointed not a mention of all the charitable giving that has happened...just mostly about drinking table smashing etc.
  22. Thanks, it was great meeting you, I still recall you were drinking some sort of red drink. One of my favorite pictures is Pinto Ron and myself, what an incredibly approachble man. I almost never ask a celeb (yes I will call him a celeb) for a photo but had no problem asking Pinto Ron.
  23. Best of luck Ron! It was great to meet you at the Texans-Bills playoff game.
  24. Sherman does nothing for the Bills, espceaily if the Bills get Watt, that is all the leadership on defense you need. Sherman was abused by the Bills this year, he looked his age, very slow. I would pass on him big time.
