Point differential is meaningless. Example, there were MANY Bills-Pats games that were numerically close BIUT the Pats dominated us and Belichek, the master egomaniac., for whatever reason often decided not to run up the score. When he feels slighted or embarrassed by the Bills or some dumb arse comment by a Bill, he would put the pedal down to the floor. Or when a game has long been decided and the winning team, plays soft defense, the much lauded "garbage points" can add up. Winning the point differential is like Rex declaring we won the pre-season.

Most memorable opening game
RoyBatty is alive replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some good ones already listed. will go with one as a kid. 1973. Patriots versus the Bills. First play from scrimmage OJ Simpsons runs for 80 yards and a TD. It was the start of the best year a running back ever had in the NFL leading to his 2003 yards. -
"The quarterback messes up, doesn’t see the blitzer, or the line screws up. I don’t know what happened, the quarterback or the lineman on offense. The defensive player comes in and hits him hard and they throw a flag on the defense." This is almost exactly what happened to Boogie Basham versus the Bears, QB was inexperienced, never saw him coming.

Don Beebe had a hell of a game. Wonder who our "Done Beebe " would be with todays team, maybe Cole Beasley?

Long Efe Obada story from Tyler Dunne

Amazing story, impossible not to root for Efe. You take his attitude, lack of football experience and his physical characteristics, then look at his productivity last year, incredible we didnt try and lock him up long term, -

Huh? He didnt have a strong arm last year, he was still recovering from hip surgery. Lets see if he can return to Alabama form. -
Belichick has only one active QB

I was being facetious, something Belichek would do or at least consider. -

Agree with that if you throw in Urban Meyer angle. Urban already looks defeated, like Nick Saban as a pro coach, what he does with Lawrence is pretty intriguing. Too bad for Lawrence he didnt get a proven NFL HC not some kind of experiment. I put the Over/under at 2 years on Meyers's career in Jax. -

I dont disagree with that. Newton was awful but not awful enough for Bill not to resign him. I think it was his attitude and Covid/unvaxxed did him in. Bills should have offered Hoyer $5 million to sign with them. -

Operative word is rookie. As I have always asserted, Jones is the most intriguing rookie this year, he could be a total disaster and worse than Cam 2020 or s star. -

He will be like Fitz. To start the season his arm will be strong, over the season it will deteriorate to the point at season end he will be worse than last year, have an arm at that point to rival Tua's. -
I think that is the entire point of this thread. For probation use my ICON (I will abandon) or the "toy" that mentioned Brady thrown on the field a few years ago. For the top levels a mix of Beane/Mcdermott?J Allen.

Buffalo Bills 2021 practice squad players

As per Warcoded wrote, consider hiring Davis Webb in as a coach, that is his value to the Bills. His pre-season performance was enough for me. -
Head Coach Sean McDermott Against Rookie QBs
RoyBatty is alive replied to JGMcD2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So all these are guys arent "really known", LOL Geno Smith, Russell Wilson, Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez and Ben Roethlisberger. Two will end up in the Hall of Fame but I guess they aren't really known. Wilson had a great Q4 versus Belichek and the announcers were incredulous. Pats were up by i think 2 TDS and Wilson stormed back with under 10 minutes to go and won with an incredibly high QB rating. -

I want Greg Rousseau and company to introduce himself to Mac Jones. He aint in Alabama anymore. -

Good observation, he was never going to outrun most NFL CBs or safeties, he might as well add some girth and get harder to bring down. -

Great data. Off the top of your head or with your data base, can you identify who the rookie QBs he faced thus far. Tua would be one. After all, those rookies were play against his year are all early-mid rd 1 QBs taken and all except for the rock star, Trevor Lawrence has played well in pre-seasons. Would be nice if we could play these rookies early in the season. -

Hope you are right, I dont know what happened to Singletary's "fire" last year but he looked like his "old" self this pre-season.
