2018 was a great draft for QBs.  Five QBs were taken first round.  This season four of them led their teams to the playoffs, even if two of them are on different teams then the ones that drafted them.  That's a remarkable feat.

Then there's Josh Rosen who, unless I'm mistaken, isn't even in the league anymore.  He's the odd one out.

I find this interesting, as I remember a lot of fans referred to Josh Allen as "Wrong Josh", upset b/c the Bills could have taken Rosen.  Instead, the QB those fans wanted is the only one out of the five that isn't/wasn't in the playoffs.  And "Wrong Josh" is one of two MVP candidates.

Just goes to show that you never know how things are going to play out.

What is the point of this painfully obvious, old, self evident post?

I hope the Jets hire Rex, that would be the most fun from an entertainment perspective lol

He would be such a classic Jets hire, what would be even better is allow Rex to hire his Brother Rob.   Jets have a terrible owner and no long term answer at QB, ideal for the Ryan Bros to fix.  It would make me watch ESPN and Mr NY Jets Greenberg to see how quickly he turns on his blowhard buddy.

I think Vrabel would be a solid choice. I don't have confidence that Woody Johnson will make a solid choice.

Honestly, I'm betting before it's all said and done, Jon Gruden is the hire. Woody likes splashy names.

think even Gruden is too toxic for Woody.

If you think he really wants attention, look no further than the old Blowhard Rex Ryan, perfect for the Jets.

I mean from what we've heard the Bills organization and Buffalo can really end up being a place players love being, that being said the Jets are an awfully low bar to clear.

It has been this way since the arrival of the much maligned Mcdermott, Brandon Beane and Josh Allen.

Was that a real sign she held up or was that photo shoped?

Granted 3/4’s of the secondary was out as well as Milano (who surely wasn’t 100% before being out for todays game)

    but…

The defense has given up chunks of yards all year but not many points. Now they’re giving up chunks of yards and points.

If a team truly commits to running the ball against the Bills, they don’t have an answer for it, and it opens up so many other options.

When they aren’t getting gashed by the run, they aren’t generating any pass rush, which leaves an already depleted secondary in a really bad spot.

Bad teams can’t really expose that. Baltimore did it first. Then Houston, LA, Detroit and now New England.

tjis is going to be a problem in the playoffs

Houston didn't win by gashing us by running, not even close.

We lost that game largely because we couldn't stop the pass,  they crushed us by threw for 331 yards worth and Josh had an abysmal day, not even completing 30% of his passes.

As for running, the Texans didnt get over 94 yards rushing average 3.4 yards/ carry.

Let's see, who do I trust more, the casuals on message board TBD or actual pressure rates and professional metrics?   Tough one

    https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/von-miller/6154#latestNewsWidget

For those that don't want to click on the link, he rates near the top 10% in DE's and top 7% for PFF pass pressure efficiency.

PFF isn't the end all be all, that's for sure but it is a metric and this metric is also backed up by pressure and hurry metrics as well.   Plus, I don't need to see the metrics to know that he has been effective against the pass because I actually see it on the field.

The people who are diminishing what he has done are in three different buckets.

    - They hate his contract and judge him based off the contract size

    - Already had entrenched views of him going into the season and are either outright refusing to acknowledge that they were incorrect in characterizing him as "washed" or are stubborn in acknowledging this

    - Are casuals, in that they don't see sacks or a strong team defensive performance therefore "Von sucks"

He isn't worth the contract that they paid him, he was given a larger than expected contract because Beane wanted to get a difference making DE to chase down Mahomes, unfortunately he had an ACL injury that took away 1 1/2 years of good production.  He played excellent before the injury and was a major factor in defeating the Chiefs in the season a couple years ago, and he played very well against him a couple games ago, so he is doing what we had hoped against the Chiefs, and he is playing well this season as well.  You guys can say all you want that he isn't, it won't change the fact that he is and that is backed up by the eye test, pressure stats relative to other DE's and his PFF ratings.

    Well though out, non-emotional  response.

    Quite the rarity here.

    Gassed?

if he gets gassed playing the amount he does, then another reason he shouldn’t be on the field.

    Dude,

    he blows.

    quick pressure means nothing.

    Results are what matters.

don’t confuse a minuscule bit of effort with results.

not just minuscule effort, but minuscule ability / agility at this point.

stick a fork in him, he’s done.

We get it  already, how many ways/times you going to blast him?

i could be wrong, but this strikes me as one of those plays that always works in high school but would never work in the NFL.

    Agreed,

Note how high and wide the QBs legs are, that would be a pretty easy to detect he is not going to do a QB sneak.  If you dont have the high and wide legs, risk of snap hitting his legs are extreme and frought with danger.

Spags? He once referred to Josh as a "surfer boy". Most Bills fans knew he grew up in the Central Valley of California, far away from southern California. So he has to be a Jets fan.

    PatsFanNH?

That was classic, "Surfer Boy", comedic gold,

Is his "name" Spagnola, regardless he is NOT a Jets fans, he/she is bills fan with his Jets/Jersey shtick.

I think I’d rather Steelers win to keep Baltimore in a wildcard spot then they likely finish 5 or 6 and go out to kc round 2

not that pit is a pushover but something like Denver - Pit - KC/Bal doesn’t seem like too bad of a path

One team I dont want the Bills to face in the plaoyffs are the Ravens, they rolled us once and our run defense hasnt materially improved, they are a terrible mathup for the Bills.

There are a couple of Chiefs fans who post quite frequently on anything Chiefs related. They are like moths to the flame, although one of them has not posted in awhile.

The Jets fan everyone is referring to isn't real. He is 100% a Bills fan pretending to be a Jets fan.

There used to be a Packers fan who would post here occasionally.

What is his "name", smagnolia  or some goofy italian derivative.  That poster is actually very creative, always a great read and then some fans try to argue with him as they dont realize he is pulling their chains.
