So Josh came out to practice today with a blue helmet. Same as last season’s red one, it had the same center vinyl decal as the white helmets which throws things off. I just think it’s a huge tease for the marketing dept to be doing this stuff. Give us a red helmet & throwbacks or get off the pot! Also, a blue helmet simply makes the unis way to close to the NYG.

I share his birthday. This is number 43 for me. It’s also Martin Sheen’s.

Bills backers clubs in Southern Connecticut and Canton Ohio
UConn James replied to OneBeforeIDie's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is one in Manchester CT, at Shea’s per a thread last year looking for a BB bar in CT. I did not get there last year as I had access to a Sunday Ticket, but maybe will catch a couple there this season. -
Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
UConn James replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
A bit surprising / disappointing that Araiza is not suing the piece of 💩 lawyer who absolutely “litigated in the media” last year when he was the mouthpiece 📢 for his lying 🤬 of a client. -

It was reported in an article that she had made public statements about suicidal thoughts in recent months after her son died by suicide last year. 😕

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
UConn James replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
My uncle is a disabled Vietnam vet who started a higher-end carpentry business in the ‘80s and has said these kind of complaints have been happening since EEO / affirmative action / quota programs started and for whatever reasons, despite advertising and bending over backwards to get minority construction businesses involved, it continues to lag because there aren’t a lot of them and/or they don’t apply to bigger contracts. Some guys would actually put a company in their wife’s name so she owned it on paper and game the system, he said. You can write up whatever legal quota and easier access and incentive stuff you want, but you can’t force people to bid on a contract. 🤷♂️ -
Authentics / Elite are now at about $300. I ordered a white throwback one with my last name and favorite number a few years ago when they had a 25% sale. I’ve since customized a Kelly-era authentic (whose vinyl numbers peeled in the wash) with twill name & numbers from an eBay seller who does it with Cricut or such, and I learned how to sew and it looks great.

Red Wolves or Redtails were the best options and Snyder was too cheap, spineless, and/or stupid to make it happen. Red Wolves / Redwolves was a copyright problem with the NBA’s Timberwolves? Bah. 🦓 💩. There are / were teams with literally the same name in major sports leagues & colleges. Jets. Oilers. Cowboys (Dallas, Oklahoma State). Kings (Sacramento, LA). Half of the CFL is some form of Rough Riders. Bulls (Chicago, NYC Red Bulls). I could go on if I had had some caffeine this morning. If I were a new owner, I’d make sure to scrub 🧽🧼🪣 anything Dan Snyder was involved in. Going back to Redskins is a nonstarter, financially speaking. Trademark office and the courts iirc ruled that a trademark will not be allowed for the word.

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
UConn James replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
As an aside to the aside, there’s a pair of Case Keenum’s blue game-used uniform pants on eBay from last year, and they are size 28. 🤨. How is an NFL QB who is not Bryce Young a size 28 waist? -
What’s her income minimum tho? I’m betting $2M+/yr. More and more it’s like online dating has become a place where people try to custom-order a possible partner’s every characteristic. And then complain that no one is date-able.

Does Connecticut Pizza live up to the hype?
UConn James replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
Up here in the northeast of CT, we have our own style with Willington Pizza, which invented the red potato pizza, which has a base of sour cream (when I make my own version at home, I use ricotta), layered with about 1/8”-sliced pre-cooked red potatoes, cheese (I use provolone), and topped with broccoli, bacon crumbles, and some white onion. It won the CBS Morning Show’s award in the mid-90s for the best pizza in the country. They also have a California pizza with sun-dried tomato and artichoke heart topping, and many other classic and some interesting combos, such as the Pickle Pizza. Usually I make my own at home, as it’s gotten quite expensive. $30 for a large ~16” pie. -
TBH, I’m not liking the disrespect of dropping a guy’s jersey on the floor. Just invites being pinned to a bulletin board and bad mojo from the football gods.

Why not buy your first house at 56 years old
UConn James replied to Draconator's topic in Off the Wall
Great for you! Get a GOOD home inspector when you find something you’re very interested in, especially when you have little / no experience with homeownership. -
Now that the preliminary work is starting on this thing, can we for the love of god NOT use whoever did the concrete in the last renovation… or at least look into a different mix or whatever research there is in making more cold-hardy concrete? That Buffalo News article awhile back that detailed & showed photos of all of the problems… that concrete wasn’t 10 years old and it was cracking and eroding all over the place.

Literally the ONLY thing good about that is there’s no black outlines. Some people say they’re navy, but it’s black, just as the Cowboys have black outlines on their white jersey shoulder stripes… AND NOWHERE ELSE 🤯. But anyway, that’s my one major nit with our unis. The black outline is not needed in these days of HDTV and just looks so out of place to me. Look at how great the throwback unis are! No black required. Otherwise damn near perfect.

If Isaiah McKenzie hadn’t tried juking for a couple more yards for 5-7 seconds on the last play and instead went out of bounds, we would’ve been able to kick a FG. Instead we juuust ran out of time trying to clock the ball. I think it was that display of situational un-awareness on Dirty’s part that caused Dorsey to lose his sh— in the booth and smash things. He was pissed McKenzie didn’t just go OOB. Credit the close-mouthed / win as a team, lose as a team culture that this wasn’t mentioned in the pressers / media. But #6 definitely cost us that game.

I suppose all I can say is that in the physics theory of the multiverse, there is a version of earth where that happened or will happen. Although it’s possible that’s the same version of reality where Jessica Alba is in love with me.

Unless you’re talking to Stephon Gilmore. The Pats* did a restructure on him a few years ago and then he started a sulk-fest about how he was not being paid that year. Pats*: You got your money early. It’s all there. StephG: Yeah, but I’m not being paid as much now. Pats*: But you ALREADY GOT IT! We just paid it to you this spring as a bonus conversion to save cap space. StephG: But I’m not being paid as much this year. Pats*: We literally just gave you like $25M. Instead of paying you later, we just paid it to you now. StephG: But I’m not going to be paid later. Pats*: That’s because we paid it to you NOW. StephG: But I want to be paid later too. Pats*: OhFFS 🤦🏻♂️ Maybe it’s a thing with people named Stephon that they don’t understand how the whole money thing works?

It literally smelled like burning plastic and oil on Saturday morning here in NE CT, it faced by the afternoon. I had heard about smoke from the fires but wasn’t expecting it to smell that. When it happened a couple of years ago from more Western Canada it was like a straight campfire smell. This one now is just putrid and there is actual semi-thick smoke in the air. Map on teevee news showed WNY getting the worst of it (purple shades) today and tomorrow. Thankful to have a very good BlueAir air purifier for the house with HEPA & charcoal filters. I can cook fish in the kitchen and the smell is completely gone in 30-40 minutes, and it’s really helped with pollen allergies this spring.

Sports Illustrated is like 5 guys working out of a garage at this point, no? It was bought a few years ago and budget was mercilessly slashed.

Had a scare same as OP on the second day of spring semester classes at uni, freshman year. Appointment was three days later. I ended up taking a leave of absence for the semester because it really shook me up. It was / is huge so I had convinced myself it was Bad News, but yes, “just” a cyst so I guess one could say I have big balls.
