  1. Actually, more like a sponge. And if the right could form an ad campaign centered around that... maybe with some Seinfeld-ian "sponge-worthy" metaphors, that would really be awesome. Anyone who uses that, I want some credit.
  2. Well, to be entirely honest I think each side is just following the script as it's been written. They've all been given their parts to play in our nation's political theatre. A good deal of the right's indignation on the issue is misplaced. Romney has probably had the sanest response to it that I've seen. The misunderstanding of the reporter's question aside, he supported yesterday's Senate bill because he has a problem in who's being asked to fund it... not because he's a misogynist, thinks standard contraception is vile, or all that. And then he begged off the topic because beyond stating that the people who use it should be paying for it, this is not a question that is the burning issue of our times for the federal government, as much as Democrats would like to make it so to steer the conversation away from deficit/debt, the economy and jobs. As I wrote, especially if this is proves successful, sooner or later, Ms. Fluke will be gifted a seat in Congress if she wants one.
  3. Look for this girl to be running for Congress from somewhere Dem-safe inside of 5 years.
  4. You realize those are the numbers from "LOST," right?
  5. Child of the '80s... Everlasting Gobstompers Runts (just thinking about the combination of banana and strawberry makes my mouth water like Pavlov's dogs) Root beer barrels Buftex, for some reason, black licorice anything (even that gum) made me gag. Literally gag.
  6. 4 8 15 16 23 42. Oh, crap... [James waves his hand around a bit] 49.
  7. See, this is one of the worst points about soccer. Teams are like, "We've got a guy who's good? Well, definitely, let's NOT keep him and win matches --- let's sell 'im for MILLIONS!!" Stevestojan(!), even baseball has talent spread out more than soccer.
  8. Don't ask non-military employees to take a bath! Senator Ben Cardin (MD) sez: federal employees' jobs are "more complicated and difficult" than analogous non-government jobs.
  9. You're advocating cannibalism*?!? * Tom was "Crap-Throwing Monkey" for a while
  10. It was a friendly match, but a nice symbolic win. (I didn't look at the roster... did Italy put their third-stringers out there?)
  11. What do you mean by "seems"? That apology really worked wonders, huh? 1 March | Afghan Gunmen [Dressed As and Believed To Be Soldiers] Kill 2 U.S. Troops We apologize for some burning paper. Where is the demand to Kharzai for an apology for our dead soldiers shot by Afghan troops? Oh, a president can't control every little action by his grunts --- imagine that! But in the Afghan mind, overreaction and heightened offense is the norm. If Kharzai asks for another apology for some piss-ant reason, tell him to go !@#$ himself. We can leave and he can have his decapitated head set on his stomach 5 minutes later. I'm !@#$ing sick of these clowns. If we're not going to commit to an appropriately-numbered surge amid the hope that what worked in Iraq can work in Afghanistan (and for the record, I don't think it can) then what the !@#$ are we doing there shoveling stevestojan against the tide? OBL is dead. When the !@#$ do we get out of there?
  12. Is this going to fill in some dates?
  13. Yeah, damn, I was going to say something like WVU... but then Kat in that reward challenge happened. Holy stevestojan. I mean... holy stevestojan! Alicia and Christina went after her and with more items to remember, both got it on the first go iirc. It would appear that men aren't wired for those memory puzzles. I know I'm not. The recovery in the immunity challenge was just crazy. The girls were so far behind on Sabrina's horrid calling-out that it seemed like they'd be done in short order again, but rallied on her puzzling skills (spatial/visualization problems usually benefit men). Nice. So, again, there's inter-tribe fighting over resources, the sharing of such and the payback for the sharing. OK, I had been willing to give some leeway on the whole thing of the men stealing the supplies the women had stripped from the truck. But that's over. The men are stupid for putting up with it any longer, and then giving them an ember before they had struck a deal for canoe use. Even Colton (the gay Republican --- it takes all kinds I guess! (Not bashing here or to make this a PPP item; I'm a conservative who also believes strongly in gay rights even tho I'm not gay myself. We do exist) was getting tired of the mooching. That said, Chelsea's hands were like blue; I would've let her stay as long as she needed. It's a game and you want to win, but there's a point where it's just the right thing to do. Anyway, that was a pretty fatal blow the un-muscular men delivered to Matt and Co. Dude thought he owned the tribe and when you do that you put a big mark on your back. I'm just grateful I'm not forced to raise a hand to block out Matt showing off his package during the individual camera chats. Without Matt, that alliance is nothing, even if they had numbers or an idol. But while they are safer, their tribe just got weaker for challenges. That's not really Colton's concern, because he's playing 10 moves ahead right now in a heck of a game... even tho it was a gift from Sabrina that created his position. I'm not certain how long he's going to be sticking around after a merge, tho. But he'll probably still have the idol at that point.
  14. That's what happens when the discussion and any gov't action sees the health care issue as primarily a problem of access rather than a problem of addressing costs. $5 on the bill for a pair of latex gloves... which the doctor in my last several visits hasn't used!
  15. But he does a MEAN Al Green! When Jimmy Carter has his ass handed to him by Republican Hair, he started building houses for poor people (I'm not making fun of this; Habitat for Humanity is a great charity). Perhaps after Obama gets tossed by Republican Hair 2.0, he can go on a concert tour.
  16. The thing is, while they may rightly know who the listed parents are, they do not know the inner workings of the marriage/relationship between a couple. Who's to say that Mr. Kennedy didn't have a plane waiting to take him to Venezuela or if he was just going to disappear into the street with another identity because he wanted a divorce? Maybe it's rare, but it can happen. This is the theory of why rules are the way they are. As long as the baby is under their charge, it's their responsibility to ensure proper possession. If one of the parents is going to leave the hospital with the baby, protocol needs to be followed. It wouldn't have been a problem if he had just cleared it with them first and there was at least a verbal consent from his wife. Once they've signed discharge papers and are wheeled to the door, then it's the couple's deal. But while they're in the hospital, words like "liability" is one of those things people poo-poo... and yet, if something does go wrong, the hospital is on the hook for $X million lawsuit. Don't blame them for having the rule when the legal and $ penalty for not following the rule is so high. He is an "investigative reporter" for FOX, with a concentration in health care, according to wiki. And just remember, this is a man who once rented a plane to fly over a nuclear power plant shortly after 9/11, just to make a (retarded) point. I would say it's within the realm of possibility that he was looking to make a spectacle of himself again. It's about proper custody. Walk into the office and tell the principal's secretary that you need to take your child out of school and there's nothing they can do as long as you haven't had parenting rights / guardian status removed. Walk into the cafeteria at lunch and lead junior out the door, expect to have a problem even if the teachers assigned to lunch monitoring know you.
  17. Still up in the air whether Cuse and Pitt might be let out of the Big East 27-month commitment early like WV. Plus, that the incoming schools might also join earlier. It makes scheduling anything damned difficult, if not impossible right now.
  18. According to exit polling, Santorum got a bump from a large portion of the ~9% of voters who said they were Democrats. I, for one, believe open primaries suck.
  19. With 67% reporting, Romney is leading by slightly over 4%. NYT has projected a Romney win.
  20. The intimation I've gotten from articles was that our FO is expecting him to test the waters. He will not sign before free agency unless he gets a sweetheart deal, and since that hasn't happened yet, I highly doubt it will. He may take whatever offers he gets back to the Bills to see if they'll match or come close ala what Clabo did last year in ATL. But the way the dude is talking, besides a standard "sure, I'd love to come back to Buffalo... for the right price" (note: I am not begrudging SC for this) is what a lot of dudes say right before they start packing. I don't think he's going to be back unless Overdorf lays down a lot of dollars. And I'm thinking Nix will be all right going into next season with Lee Smith and a draft pick/UDFA. That's just how we roll at this position, unfortunately.
  21. My alma mater has been primarily a running team for some time and hasn't had QB stability since Dan Orlovsky was drafted in 2005. Still, Moore has managed to have some impressive games and has come up with some pressure grabs during his time here (OT TD in the upset of Notre Dame, catches in the final two games last year to put the team in FG position and get to the Fiesta Bowl). And I've gotta say... this was a sweet one. That's an impressive running time. Moore also trained with and then ran track for UConn. I'd be excited to see what he could do with a QB who is worth more than a bucket of warm stevestojan.
  22. Adapted screenplay so should have gone to Moneyball.
